Food court

'My best guess is that her memories have been wiped.' In consideration of a voice that pulled his consciousness out of his body, wiping someone's memories was the least it could do.

'Probably.'

Ellianor sighed. "I'm I…" Words died in his throat, his body froze up as a solid grasp was placed on his neck.

[NU FREAKING UH. NO. YOUR NAME IS ELLIANOR. DON'T EVEN THINK OF SAYING OTHERWISE. WELL, BACK TO THE BRAWL. STOP. MESSING. AROUND]

The grasp over his neck stopped, as the voice went away again. The contents of her speech were as confusing as ever. 'Just what is happening on your end?'

The voice was gone from his head, again, and it wasn't looking like it would come back soon. "I am Ellianor… it is a pressure to meet you, Kissenn."

Given how fast the voice returned, Ellianor had an inkling that he couldn't use his true name anytime soon.

"I was a programmer… before what happened to me happened. I'm just in the blind as you." It was shameful to admit that he was as clueless as an amnesiac person. 'No point in waiting.'

Ellianor sighed deeply, before he could move, Kissenn was upon him, her hands holding his in a forceful and intense handshake.

"Nice to meet you! I may not have my memories, but I will do my best to help."

She smiled enthusiastically as if the bodies and the smell didn't bother her. It was a dissonating sight from her cheerfulness and the sight of a massacre around them.

It was such a tone dissonance that Ellianor winced. "I know you are happy but.,.. ready the mood a bit. That is not… the best place for that type of happiness."

Kissenn opened her mouth slightly before she noticed the presence of the corpses.

Her chest deflated, her face painted with sadness and melancholy. 'I just. They are already dead, what is there to acknowledge?' It was hard to understand what he meant or wanted.

As far as Kissenn knew, the dead didn't talk, usually. Ellianor shook his head and made his way towards one of the corpses. It was lying on its back, mangled beyond recognition. Its back has been opened, and the head mauled.

With a grimace, Testament was used to turn the corpse over, it revealed a worse visage than its back. The organs from its chest and belly have been scooped, and the flesh was torn from the outside and largely ignored.

It was an incision made to open its torso and remove the organs. The face had its skin thorn out, and even some muscles and flesh, showing the front of the skull.

Ellianor narrowed his eyes. Kissenn stared at him in confusion. "That has to be a sick sense of humor… Kissenn, turn over the corpses, tell me what wounds were caused on them." The black-haired woman whined in confusion but obliged.

Ellianor continued to turn the corpses up, he analyzed the attacks on their back and chest with great disgust. The organs of their chest and belly were taken out, and the back was mauled.

'They attacked on the back to kill, and they eat their organs.' It was a sick joke. While Ellianor was no medic, he was not a douche. The way they were killed and laid down told him much about how they died.

Ellianor moved one of the necks with his free hand. It was rigid, and refused to bulge, besides a strange position on its axis… 'The neck broke.' It was a misalignment. The eyes stared back in horror.

'Something jumped on their back, broke its neck, on accident or purpose, mauled the back and ate the organs. Sick bastards.' They were eaten, gladly not alive, Ellianor hoped.

They were eaten alive in a food court. It was no accident. "They… had their chests open, I think. Most of the base has been done on their backs." Ellianor continued to analyze the bodies.

'At those times I regret not going to medicine university.' He wouldn't end there. Ellianor found a strange corpse. It was the corpse of a man, that much he was sure of.

He wore body armor of blue color, and a strange gun in his hand, its appearance out of a video game. A glance at the upper area of the gun revealed strange coils, broken and snapped, busted and colored cinder by ashes, and damage by fire.

His body rested against a trash can turned upside down. Ellianor turned around to see a bloody hole in the trash can. Orange eyes narrowed on the object.

"Sorry about that." Ellianor moved the guard's body to the side, it fell on the floor with a dull thud.

Then, he flipped over the trash can. His eyes darkened, and words died in his throat.

Kids hid there, a boy and a girl, their little chests pierced, the hole had slimy old blood, already darkened in color.

Their faces were one of horror and surprise. Ellianor stood there, his eyes devoid of emotion, any type of mood died within his soul.

The marks of dried tears on their faces as they held each other.

This world was cruel, there would always be cruelty, but that was a step too far, too much cruelty for Ellianor.

'They didn't die immediately.' Blood came out of their mouths. The few seconds they survived after their chest was pierced must have been the most cruel.

"Hey, what did you… find." Kissenn came to his side, with a neutral face, a thinly veiled smile across her lips. That was until she saw the image of the two children, her mood too died immediately at the sight.

Her heart clenched for reasons beyond her understanding, an overwhelming bitter taste inside her mouth.

"Oh." Now she understood what Ellianor said about the mood. She did not know why, but the dead children made her chest hurt.

Ellianor kneeled near the guard's corpse. "You fought well, buddy." Fought until his gun broke. He had his chest pierced too, but not open.

'The armor must have proven to be too thick.' Ellianor thought drily.

He searched the corpse for a radio or any object he could use to communicate.

Soon, he found one.

Some good scavenging and looting to make sure you had not left anything behind you.
