Chapter 9

When they returned home, the house was empty, Nana wasn't at home.

"Where is Nana?"

Catori asked in panic.

"Maybe she went to the market to get something"

Jack said.

"But, she didn't tell me she would be going to the market"

"Calm down, okay, what are you thinking, she would be back, she is not a kid"

Catori signed and grabbed a chair to sit down. Jack also sat down waiting for Nana.

"Aren't you going home, won't your mother be asking of you"

"Nah, she knows am here…"

"But…"

"Do you want to chase me out of your house now, we are best friends, we swore to never abandon each other, what are you trying to do"

Jack said exaggerating, Catori rolled her eyes at him, such childish behavior, and you could think he is a three year old if you didn't hear his voice.

"School is resuming next week"

"I know, you have said that for like a thousand times now, I…"

"I just want you to get prepared"

"What am I supposed to be prepared about...?"

'You know your girlfriend is now your enemy, the whole school thinks you guys broke up because of a man…"

"Who is my girlfriend?"

"The girl you met at the street earlier today"

Jack said to her.

"So, you mean to say am going to be the laughing stock of the whole school"

"No, I meant to say that you should be careful of her, she might take advantage of you"

"That might not necessarily be the case..."

Nana walked him with a bag on her head; Catori stood up to take the bag from her.

"Nana, you didn't tell me you were leaving, you had me worried for nothing"

"Am sorry dear, I forgot that we ran out of groceries, so I had to run to the market to get some things"

"That is what I told her, but she was just being worried for nothing"

"You are the one worried for nothing, dick head..."

"Where did you hear that word from?"

Nana asked,

"Oh, from a passerby"

"And you used it on me, do you know what it means..."

"Oh, I do"

"And you used it on me, do you…."

"Shouldn't I use it on you? aren't you a dick head"

"You…"

"alright, alright, stop bickering you two, let's make something to eat, ….ahh, Jack, I almost forgot, I met your mother on my way to the market, she asked you to come back home"

"Okay, Nana, see you tomorrow catori"

"Bye"

Catori waved with a smile, she felt blissful in her heart, in her previous life, she never really get the chance to even bicker with a friend until she met him, and now she realized how blissful even bickering could be.

"Catori..."

Nana called from the kitchen, she ran into the kitchen to see what she can help with.

"Catori continue cooking the food, I have to go see someone…"

"This….. Nana, I can't cook...I…"

"You can cook before, how come you can't cook now"

"Well, I had amnesia, I forgot how to cook"

Catori lied, how was she supposed to tell her that in her previous life, she was a queen, she haven't even seen the kitchen where they make dishes, they were plenty of maids for that, she doesn't even have to bath herself.

"Sign, I forgot about that, alright, watch me cook then, you have to learn how to cook, and when you get married I won't come cook for you …."

"Nana, that's an embarrassing topic to talk about with your daughter"

Catori said, covering her face shyly

"What's embarrassing, it's the truth..."

"Nana…"

Catori said and Nana laughed out loud.

"Okay, okay, I will say no more"

After a week, catori is now completely fine, her body is not weak anymore and she can now move freely without feeling any pains. Jack hasn't come to see her since then and she is really worried about him, she don't know where he lives, so she couldn't go search for him, she had asked Nana but she wouldn't tell her saying he would come today so they could go to school together. And true to her words, Jack appeared that morning carrying a bag; she didn't even know when she jumped on him hugging him tight.

"I can't breathe, let me go"

Jack managed to squeeze out these few words from his mouth. Catori let go of him with a smile.

"Where have you been since?"

"Do you miss me so much?"

"Yeah"

Jack looked at her, shocked.

"What"

"You miss me?"

"Yeah, aren't I supposed to miss you, nor has it now turned to a crime to miss my friend?"

Catori asked confused at his reaction, Jack shook his head and walked into the room; Catori followed him, "you haven't told me where you have been these past few days?"

"I have been helping my mother in her shop"

Jack said turning to her. "Shop"

"Yes, shop"

He said walking away.

'And it's high time you come help Nana with her business, she's old now, she can't lift everything and her customers leave because of that'

"I never knew Nana owned a shop..."

"Really"

"Yeah..."

"Jack dear, I haven't told her about the shop after her amnesia so she can recover fully, now that she is fully recovered, of course she has to help me, don't sound so angry, okay"

Nana said to Jack, she knew he is being angry on her behalf, but it is really not Catori's fault.

"Ok"

Catori ate and headed to school with jack, she had thought that they were going to a creepy looking place to study but jack stopped a cab and the cab took them to school, she couldn't see the views of the city because the cab is tinted. The cab stopped and they came down, she was stunned by the sight before here, a majestic looking building, very tall, this is the first time she is seeing such tall house.

"Is this the school?"

"No"
