Chapter 7: My sons

Kiara's POV

Enrico gives me a look. When the door closes, I grab his hands and pull him back. He scowled at me, and I was terrified, but I had to hold it together and show him that Kiara is not that crybaby who keeps everything to herself despite the fact that she is a noble lady who deserves to be loved by her husband.

I overheard what my stepmother and Kate were saying. They aggressively targeted me in order to make me look bad in front of the royal family.

They're aiming for royal status while ensuring that I lose everything. Kate should accept the emperor's decision, and they will begin to wreck my life in three months.

I must fight back. That's why I secretly ask the empress for a favor, and that's the reason why a contract was made between the three of us.

I know Enrico won't defy his big brother, and Kate won't try to disobey the rulers of this empire. I was right.

"I need to talk to you, Enrico. Can you give me a minute?" I ask.

He pushed me and looked disgusted because of what I did. I am losing my composure again. I feel like I want to punch his face!

"I don't fucking care if you love Kate, but I'm your wife! Whether you like it or not, you have to fulfill your marital duties, and if I said that I wanted sex, then you will do it. Remember, you can't say no to all my words. Don't make me madder, Enrico. If you want your beloved Kate to stay alive," I threatened.

He looks at me with those sharp eyes, and he's about to grab my neck when his heart aches. Wow, that really works. This world is quite scary.

But I have no choice but to survive in this predicament, or else I'll be in trouble, and I don't want that to happen. In this world where powers and supernatural beings exist, a human like me should know how to survive.

I have to get stronger and use these abilities to protect my sons. I don't know why, but my maternal instinct was telling me to love them even if the real Kiara no longer existed. She's dead.

"Hah! You have the face to say that? Didn't I tell you that I would never love someone like you? Can't you see it? I will never love you!" he roared. 

I slapped him. He looks at me and gives me those cold and ruthless glances. I was hurt, maybe because Kiara's heart reacts to his words.

The real owner of this body loves her husband. It's making me sick because her husband betrayed her.

"I may have forgotten the pain you gave me, but what I saw today is enough for me to know how much I suffered. How can you be so ruthless, huh? Are you even sorry for what happened to me and our sons? Yes! I don't remember everything, but how could you?"

My tears fell, and I tried to act strong and show him that I would never be that weak girl he used to know. The emperor and empress are on my side.

All I have to do is make him my ally. I only have three months because I'll leave this empire. I have to win his heart.

"I don't know, and I don't care about your reasons. It's up to you. But Enrico, I am no longer that girl whom you watch cry. I will never let your beloved woman ruin my life. I am telling you this. You have no choice but to do everything that I want. You will stay with me no matter what you do!" I threatened again. 

I grab his hand and drag him out of the room. I knew where they were. They are in my room, where my children are.

The maids bow their heads and open the door for us. I am still dragging him and pushing him to where the crib was. His brother was surprised by what I did.

"Look at your kids, you bastard!" I roared while pointing my finger in his face. I glared at him, and a flame ball formed in my hand.

"Just follow what she says. You formed a contract with her, and disobedience will only lead to your death," the emperor says.

Enrico turned around, and he saw Viciel, who seemed to be enjoying himself while playing with the quadruplets.

I take my seat on the bed and sigh in relief. My father and his second family had left the palace.

He talked to me secretly and gave me an envelope before he left. My dad told me to keep it hidden and never open it until he died.

I don't know why, but I was alarmed by what he said. I feel like there's a threat to his life. Should I discuss this with them?

"Uncle, look at them. They're like your baby version, right? Are you not happy? My dad says that he was very happy the first moment he saw me. My cousins are super cute!" Viciel says. 

My sons were awake, and they are enjoying the attention they gets from their cousin. Viciel is like a ray of light.

I notice something in him, and if my hunch is right, he is not only an earth controller. There's a chance that he can control the water one of these days.

I've been reading books to learn about this world and the powers of each empire. At least I know the basics and the stories.

If my dad dies, then I need to face the world on my own. I need a strong person for my sons because my own husband is also my enemy.

"Here, hold one of them. No matter how mad you are or how much you dislike this reality, you need to be a father for them, Enrico," the emperor says.
