Murkrow: Corvus
Shuppet: Konrad
——————————————
I carried Corvus to the nearest Pokémon Center in Viridian City in my arms; luckily, it was not far from the training area.
The hospital was like in the games—a big orange building with a door that opened automatically.
I was impressed by the resemblance to the games.
"Trainer ID, please
I handed him my card proving that I am a Pokémon trainer and entered.
"Thank you; you can pass."
The interior was extensive, with trainers inside; the size was not the size; it was nothing like the games inside. Inside, there were robust pillars that supported the weight of everything, and the infrastructure for the trainers' rooms was available to spend the day at a reasonable price in front of everything. As soon as you entered, in plain sight was Nurse Joy from this hospital. I had no idea if in the other hospitals her appearance was the same, but in this one her appearance could be described, just like in the games: curly hair, pink, and nurse pajamas.
"Welcome to this center; we will take care of your Pokémon. Do you want me to give your Pokémon a checkup?"
"Yes, my murkrow was damaged recently," I replied to the nurse. Her face was absolute poker; I couldn't detect any discomfort within her.
"Very well, we will heal your Pokémon right away."
With hesitation, I handed my two Pokéballs to the nurse. Giving your weapons to someone else was always awkward in the Pokémon world; it felt vulnerable.
The Pokémon were put into some kind of machine, and I started to hear a familiar sound. It was the sound they made in the games when you healed your Pokémon.
The spheres began to shine inside that machine, and I saw how they became clouded with blue energy and aura. It must have been aura, which surrounds Pokémon when they fight.
When the machine stopped emitting little music, which by the way was much longer than in the games, a few minutes. I sensed that my Pokémon had already been cured.
"That's it; your Pokémon are already restored; your Murkrow received a charge of electrical energy, but it was nothing serious, something normal in Pokémon. I remind you that the free movement of Pokémon is not allowed here; if you want to train them, we have clues behind it." Nurse Joy said it in a robotic voice.
"No, thank you; that was all."
I left the building and released my colleagues.
"How was the experience?"
"Very comfortable, and I want to return."
Corvus remained silent, staring at his wings, which had previously been somewhat neglected by the lightning.
"Well, we have two days left until the meeting with Team Rocket; we can register for the rematch against the gym leader after training.
I hadn't even been a trainer for a week, but I already had two Pokémon and 7 thousand Pokédollars left over. Considering that I had almost spent a third of the reward, maybe I should ask Looker for more money.
My Pokémon nodded with conviction, and I didn't want to reduce that conviction with my concerns.
Today we train; tomorrow we will challenge.
Now, where can I find a poison-type trainer for my Murkrow to learn toxic...
—————————————————————
Here we were again—same gym, same trainer.
"I didn't expect you to come so soon; normally trainers wait several months before launching the challenge again. Do you still believe you can beat my Rhyhorn with just one shuffle?" start the conversation. Giovanni
"This time, the result will be different," I told him with conviction.
"The fight begins, between the challenger Mello Snow and the gym leader Giovanni," the referee began to state the obvious, "take out your first Pokémon."
With that, the gangster took the Geodude out of him and I responded with Konrad.
Geodude lvl 17
Gender: male
Skill: Strength
Type: Rock/Earth
Movements: Rock throw, magnitude, rollout, polish, stealth rock, rock blast
I raised my eyebrow, that Geodude had gone up a level.
Well, nothing that a Konrad eager to fight won't fix.
"Konrad uses feint."
"Rockt throw Geodude." From his hand, Geodude created a rock the same size and threw it at my Shuppet.
"Dodge it with a shadow sneak." Shuppet materialized in a shadow and dodged the attack by passing under the rock.
"Now feint"
The attack hit the stone, knocking it back. The living rock tried to defend itself but was neutralized by another feint.
1–2 Giovanni only had one Pokémon left.
"Forward Ryhorn Rock Blast"
The ground rhinoceros created the same attack again, and from his horn, he threw more stones towards my Shuppet, dodging with fel shadow.
"Attack the shadow," Giovanni ordered.
Unfortunately for Giovani and his stoned Pokémon, he didn't land a single hit.
Number of hits: 0
"Rhyhorn rammed him with a drill"
"Konrad over" I picked up the Pokéball while I picked up Corvus's "Corvus go."
Ryhorn's attack became ineffective against a flying type.
The ground energy simply disappeared upon contact against my Murkrow, as if I had just thrown a tackle.
The tackle hit Corvus but did no major damage.
"Use toxic now."
In the end, I managed to teach Murkrow Toxic as easily as Thunder Wave; I just had to challenge a trainer with an Arbok that I found outside the hospital.
Anyway, here was a large mass of accumulated poison.
My Murkrow launched the toxic wave at high speed, reaching the rhino with a drill.
"Rock Blast"
"Smoke screen"
"Murkrow learns the smoke screen?"
But Murkrow used a smoke screen with his poison, making Rhyhorn miss all of his attacks.
"Keep using the smoke screen until you run out of energy; be careful not to get poisoned."
"Rock blast Rhyhorn until you get it right," said a frustrated Giovanni with no alternative.
The outcome of the battle was very anticlimactic; Rhyhorn had no way to attack Corvus directly, so he tried his luck with stone throwing, only to fail and end up weakened within 10 minutes.
"Rhyhorn is out of combat; the winner is
Mello Snow, 2-0"
"Your tactic was quite clever; congratulations! Here you have the earth badge with the case to store it."
"Thank you, Mr. Giovanni."
"Don't thank me; you earned it with effort in just 2 days since your defeat. You are the first to achieve this milestone, and I expect great things from you." Giovanni shook my hand, and I left the stadium.
One more step to becoming a champion
