Transmigrated into Patriarchal Kingdom: Won’t Abandon my Values!

Nick is an average 24 year old guy who has been working for the last 2 years since graduating college. Suddenly he is transmigrated into the body of the Duke of Edinburgh in a fantasy world with magic. When was he transmigrated? On the day of his wedding to a daughter of a Count! He thought she was incredibly beautiful, so he decided to try his best to make their arranged marriage a happy one. However, he quickly learned about this fantasy world’s patriarchal society when he was constantly bombarded by other nobles about questions of when he would choice some concubines or at least get a second wife. Coming from the 21st century, Nick had a strong aversion to this kind of society that treated women like pieces of meat. Whenever asked a question like this, he would answer with a simple, “I will only ever love my wife!” This greatly shocked his wife Rebecca because she was engaged to the original Duke since childhood and was taught that she would only ever be a decoration. She was told to never expect love in this marriage and that she would have no right to ever criticize any of her husband’s actions. Not only that, this patriarchal kingdom was also underutilizing some genius talents only because they were women! If Nick could bring over these great geniuses to his side, then his Duchy would become that much more powerful! Follow this story of a girl who is hardened by the patriarchal society she lives in and a boy who wants to shower her with love, affection, and understanding to break down her walls and make her happy. And while they are at it, they just might change this whole backwards kingdom for the better.

Lunch Date (Part 2)

"Haha, if you give me any spicy food on accident, you will see me running for the nearest glass of milk to sooth my throat."

"Wow, you are too much."

"I know, I'm a really baby when it comes to spicy food haha. Here's another simple question, what's your favorite color? Mine is green."

"My favorite is yellow."

Yellow. I couldn't help but think of how nice she would look in a yellow dress. The thought reminded me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

I think Becca is even cuter than Belle since her hair is a lighter shade of brown, but that is really just my personal preference.

I need to go to a dress shop and get her a yellow dress as a present.

"Yellow is nice, I think it is a color that suits you well."

"Thanks, I think you would look handsome in emerald green yourself."

This time, I asked her a question I really wanted to know the answer to, "Could you tell me about your hobbies? What do you like to do when you have free time?"

"Well, you already know that whenever I have a chance to be in my room, I will always practice magic."

"That's true, you are passionate for magic. Why do you love magic so much? What drove you to work so hard in the face of all the challenges in your way?"

Becca wore a gentle smile as she talk about the thing she loved, "It started as a childish dream of mine. When I was a small child, I once saw a Royal mage appear suddenly and save a helpless old lady from an aggressive thief.

I was so young then that I didn't know the realities of our society, so I spent my time outside playing imaginary games where I was a Royal mage stopping the bad guys. The bad guys were sometimes my childhood friends and sometimes were some servants that were hired to babysit me.

But my perspective changed when I turned 12. I took a magic divinity test to reveal I was a water mage. I was excited to start training my magic for real, but Nicolas told me he would not allow me to be a Royal mage. I complained to my father, but he ended up siding with Nicolas, so I had to make it seem to everyone that I had given up my dream obediently.

The harsh reality changed my view of being a Royal mage, but it actually made my desire even stronger. Instead of helping nameless people in need, I wanted to help all the girls like me that were helpless to fight back against the rules of this society."

I wish Becca's dreams could have stayed full of childish wonder, but at least now that we are together, she can fight for the helpless like she always wanted.

"I'm glad that I am able to help you fulfill your dreams. It is commendable that you didn't let the harsh reality stop you."

"On that note, thank you so much for having one of your first law changes make it so that men can no longer abuse women with no consequences.

I have seen so many powerless women get beaten for the smallest of mistakes. It's one of the reasons that I had to act like a model noble woman even though I hated it. I'm sure the fear of being hit by their husband is something all wives have had to deal with. Now, it is a weight off their shoulders."

"Domestic abuse was still a problem in my world with the laws already in place, so I can't imagine how widespread it would be here, where it is not seen as a bad thing. I hope the two laws we implement will help save a lot of innocent lives.

So, what things do you like to do when you can't be in your room?"

"Well, you already know that I am a big fan of music. I know pretty much all of the popular songs."

"Oh ya, could you sing me some of the songs you know? Or do some of the dances? I am curious what the music of this world is like."

To be honest, I don't really care about the music of this world, I just think she would be really cute singing or dancing to one of her favorite songs.

"Hmmm, actually I can't do that."

"Oh, why not? I won't laugh at you if you are a bad singer or dancer."

Becca shook her head with a frown on her face,

"A noble would be looked down upon if they sang or danced to a performance song. Singing and dancing is seen as something that should only be performed by commoners. The only dancing nobles can do is at balls.

That's one of the reasons that you singing and dancing to me when you told me the truth about your situation made me pretty sure that you were not a noble from this Kingdom."

I decided to make a complete guess, but I felt confident it was true because the personality Becca had shown me so far, "come on, I bet that you have tried out singing and dancing once in a while when you were alone in your room."

Becca had a mischievous smile on her face,

"You got me. I do like to hum when I am in the comfort of my room and once I see a new dance for a song, I always have to try it out at least once.

But those are things I only dare to do in my room. We want to change the society, but at this point, we haven't actually changed anything, so if I get caught, I will be ridiculed."

The last part made Becca look sad. I tried my best to reassure her. "I understand, you don't have to sing or dance today. However, I definitely plan to show all the nobles the fun that can be derived from singing and dancing. It doesn't have to be a performance for others. You sing and dance because it makes you feel good yourself."

Becca eyes sparked as she imagined the future in her head. "I always wanted to have a party where I could dance with my friends and just have fun without worrying about all the noble etiquette."

"That's sounds like a lot of fun. I'll try my best to make it a reality."
