Land of The Fallen

The guns stolen from that base were naturally stored into the base storage room and locked under the watchful eye of the crystal ball on the wall.

Not many staff members are aware of what this new addition to the walls of the base and the gates are actually recording artifacts, that with a tap of a specific jade slip it will display all that took place in an are at the selected time.

It's quite magical. The construction has been on going for a few weeks and the foundation of the high rise buildings was completed a long time ago even half the building have been constructed. The scene of buildings foundation and half done buildings is comical when a radius is this large. At least they started with one section. This way they will see the fruits of their labor before moving on to the next district.

The base has been rejecting new comers from joining the base all this time. Which resulted in the life inside the base settling down and people became used to their daily lives without the disruption of new comers.

Mo still remembers the serious expression on her face as she cautioned. Have them go hunting zombies less and find something to do inside. If winter comes suddenly, close thw gates directly and keep everyone safe.

The snow will be infected with the virus so no turning it into drinking or washing water. Just use these talisman. They are not complecated to use just put them outside and have someone with fire ability light them. They will have a special flame that targets the chill and will keep people warm but it can not be used to fight or burnthings.

"Infact you can light it in the office floor. I made them fo melt the sinister snow outide. Put them on several parts of the case and people wont be stuck because of the snow nor will they be overly cold. Give it to the soldiers as well. These more than enough here. I don't want them burning down the main building because they are too cold."

She said so but old Mo knows she is just spoiling them as usual. No wonder people are fighting to be enlisted.

"Ol Mo, something is coming for everyone even the UN is not safe. I want us to be out of the way and reclusive so they don't know just how much powerful we are. Try to speak to the nine kings and get them they can even use the arenas to further their training instead of going out." She had said with worry on her face. He will listen, something that can wipe that permanent unbothered look off that young lady's face is worth worrying about.

Old Mo looked the people going about their lives and realized the leader may have known the new people would most likely be the escaped convicts. Who wants that sort of person coming here to make trouble all day long?

After hearing there will be winter coming soon, the kings doubled their efforts in completing the structures of the outside city. If snow fell on incomplete structures who knows if it will collapse directly. Who knows how long the winter will last for? So the only other item on the itinerary is the training by the Qin group.

The rest of the soldiers focused on building the structures non stop even Old Mo became surprised by their dedication. The soldiers use the cleansing potions before bed, have breakfast, go to work building the city and then visit the entertainment places.

Most of the independent people who were initially only living in the base but didn't have employment from the base would go out to hunt mutated animals, zombies and do the missions on the mission board.

The problem is that mutatd animals are ferocious and powrful. They are not getting resources to improve their strength like the army so they usually get serious wounds. Sometimes hey have to come back empty handed and still need to buy medicine.

Initially this life was okay until someone was able to enter the main building and saw the luxurious life the soldiers live in. The food and the hot water that do not get turn off a few times of the day.

The man went out telling everyone how comfortable the soldiers are and how their meals taste like they are dosed with rainbows. It was exaggerated but it seemed effective to recruit people so Old Mo decided to allow a one day experience for those considering to join the base army so they will see for themselves how soldiers are treated here.

There was an uproar as all the young and healthy people flock to the main building to eat at the restuarant. When they entered it is like returning back to the past.

Mothers coaxing their stubborn children to eat fragrant rice and steamed vegetables. They wake up to go hunt and sometimes they don't have time to cook for themselves and have to take a few bites of dry biscuits. The soldiers have and entire three floors worth of a restaurant where they seat and get food.

Not to mention the astonishing rate at which their levels are growing. They will go out with some of them this week but the power they will show on the battlefield the next week will be on another level entirely.

The envy is hard to hide. In fact, these people are only suffering because they don't want to spend money to buy decent food in the restaurant and the food stalls outside but even if they did, it will naturally fall short on the food provided for the shield of the base.

For and entire week old Mo was buys helping people sign blood contracts and then passing the new recruits to the nine kings for resources. Of course Amelia left everything to the nine kings. But there is a new edition to the base that came with the numerous monitoring artifacts.

"It's called a truth stone. When I ask a question and you answer with a lie while holding it, the stone will turn red. If you tell the truth it will turn blue." Old Mo has personally tested the effectiveness of the stone and found it just as advertised.

"Who are you?" This is the only person Old Mo recruited disobeying the leaders instructions of closed doors. It was because this young lady was being tied up and transported like an animal by a group of men claiming to be selling her for food.

Old Mo had swiped the monitor casually but seeing that pair of eyes, he couldn't let her continue be sold like that.

"My name is Zhuo Li."

"Why were you being sold?"

"I am a genius when it comes to technology. I once made a simple battery to power an entire prison for a week. They figured those big shots in the cities would want me to work for them." Blue.

She is telling the truth. "Then, are you willing to work for this place? We won't treat you badly." Mo looked at the girl with anticipation.

"I don't have a choice. You bought me." Red.

Old Mo looked at the color of her truth stone with a raised eyebrow. She looked at the stone too and kept silent.

"Do you want to stay or not? If not, then you can take a car from the parking and leave. We don't force people to work here." Old Mo suddenly felt tired. It was a bad idea to accept this person to begin with. What if Amy found out? But an electrician is neccessary especially since they just broke one solar system already.

The girl gave the stone to him. She looked into his eyes and asked. "If I take that car and leave you won't try to stop me?"

"No." Blue.

"What if I stay? Would you enslave me to work tirelessly for your base?"

"No." Old Mo frowned. He doesn't know what this young lady has been through to be so suspicious but this is okay too.

"We don't have many people versed in technology, as you can see we are using strange things but I'm hoping you can help us with your knowledge to improve our situation." Blue.

"In fact, I don't think our leaser knows anything about technology. She didn't even see guns as necessary but realized the army was still weak so she went and got them." Blue.

"What I mean is, what if our solar system shut down and the base becomes dark? There are children here. The leader is very fond of children." Blue.

Zhu Li heard all of this and finally decided to stay. She looked at the old man in front of her. "I'll stay." She said making old Mo happy.

"Sign here. With blood, your blood." Old Mo forgot that people from outside may find it weird to sign a contract in blood. But what can he do?

"Can I get a workshop?" She looked at Old Mo wondering if she has asked for too much.

"Tomorrow you can choose a room and take any toys you want. I am excited to have an expert so we can have power all the time." Old Mo said kindly.

Zhu Li took the contract and read it before signing it. "You will be paid in accordance with your needs. For now you get a place to stay and a meal card." Old Mo called his own secretary to guide Zhu Li to a new place to stay.

What they don't know is that this action will change the course of the world. In the original timeline, Zhu Li was kidnapped in the hands of the central base's Su family and had single handedly helped the Su family rise in power.

Her request was for them to find her brother. She was always in the base and never went out to look for her brother and in the end the Su family told her that he was dead. This was years later after they felt like they don't need her.

They took credit for her work and then discarded her. When she tried to restart she was shot in the head. In the novel's time line, Liang Mei goes out specifically to find her and recruit her to her own team. The wonderful technology that was initially credited to the Su family in the central base was rightfully given to her under Liang Mei's urging.

The first invention is the transformation of solar pannels to recharge using crystal nuclei instead of the sun. Slowly she transformed the entire world with her wits and brilliance alone.

This time Liang Mei is stuck home because her father is only half functional and she can't bare to leave her mother in the hands of her paternal grandmother. That family preferred male children to females so if her mother was left at their mercy she will suffer

What she doesn't know is that her father doesn't like these people too so without a mediator someone might really be angered to death.

Zhu Li's brother used to work in this hospital so she had mde the convicts to pay attention to the situation this side when she saw a huge wall. She will find out if her brother is inside or if he has died.

...

Amy opened her yes and became dumbfounded. She is in a dark place no matter how she concentrates nothing comes into view. She closed her eyes and opened the eyes she had not used for a while. Her spirit eye. She sent out her spiritual force and realized she in underground surrounded by purple stones. The small and large germs are dark and purple.

Amelia has no Idea why she would be drawn here in the state of cultivation. She havested a lot with a single thought and then tried to teleport above ground. She appeared in a delupitated city.

The havested stones are put inside the ring in her hand. She had put it on and recognized it with her blood but forgot to put emergency supplies inside. It is just an empty ring before she put the stones inside.

The surrounding areas are dry and not a single person can be seen she is still feeling very dirty from being underground for who knows how long? She took a step forward because she had just found out that her space is not letung her in.

Walking for a long time the sun seemes to be setting soon. The air suddenly became chilly even as it is till dry. The previously blue dress is now brown with some unrecognizable colors. She tried to smell herself and found that she can still smell the aroma of her flesh.

She finally found a place that looked like an abandoned village. There is dry blood on the walls the ground has white human bones, it is obvious something horrible happened here.

There's not even skin, in a harsh place like this not even the dead is left to rest by the birds. Amelia chose a room and entered. The village seems to have been ravaged by a disaster that killed everyone.

"I have left Agatha in the forests at that time. If she were here at least I would have her transport me away from this place." The more she walked around the more she was sure she is in a desert.

Is it still China? Can she get home like this? She decided to scavenge for better clothes. The clothes here seem to have been made without putting much thought into style or even color. It's all bland color and ruff materials.

She wore it because for some reason she gave advice to others so they can carry space rings but not herself. She got dressed and walked into a direction based on reading the air current, she could vaguely smell mixed smells in this direction.

When she was still trying to fight against the dry wind and looked to the few buildings in front of her, she heard a lot of safety pins being released. Someone is pointing a gunt her.

She looked round, there is a cloth she had wrapped around her face to avoid a direct confrontation with the dry and sandy air. The surroundings are not similar to a desert. Then where the hell is this place and who are all the aggressive people pointing guns at her?

She is not able to confirm the country since there are so many mixed races in front of her. Someone approached her and spoke a few times until she heard English.

"Where is this place?" She asked the man who widened his eyes at her dirty face most importantly her pair of big deep blue eyes. She finally removed all the cloth on her face and she could finaly breathe.

"This is Accuzza aka the land of the fallen." The person said. He studied her and saw recognition in her expression and laughed.

"So you do know this place. Why are you out there I thought they killed and scavenged all over that place." He looked behind her, it's obvious he is talking about the previous village.

"I wasn't home at the time."

"Come with me." She is taken to the place where the 'boss' is supposed to be.

Standing outside she can hear the sound of someone distroying things inside. The young man beside her stiffened and didn't dare to knock.

A lot of things are being thrown around in the room but the person doesn't seem to be tired. The door opened and the disheveled man stood there with a burning rage in his eyes

"B...bb...boss."

"Slave. Speak." The man said looking at Amelia in the eyes as if looking for something.

"We found her coming from the direction of the of the old villages. She claims to have belonged there initially." The normal person turned overly submissive as if the man he is addressing is the Emperor.

"Put her in a cell in D building I have much more important things to do. Sound the alarm." The man said. He is very tall and large but it's all well proportioned muscles.

"Yes master." The young man pulled her towards a building far from the main ofice. The journey is silent as Amelia is in deep thoughts about the powerful zombies signals she can feel from the building they want her to stay in. Is this to feed her to zombies? Or are they using this method to control people?

The place is a jail indeed with this building alone covering thousands of square meters and the height is unimaginable. She can not see the top even if she straines her neck. She didn't resist going inside. The missing zombies outside are all locked in this place.

The people are crazy, there is a zombie here on the verge of reaching level 8. Do they not fear at all? Suddenly she turned to look at the young man.

"What is your name?" She asked. The sudden question threw a ripple in the young man's eyes.

"Frank." He said with a bit of sadness. No one has called his name in months all they call him is 'slave' ever since the change.

"Is that guy in charge of this place Frank?" She asked. Hearing her question, he is silent for a while until deciding it is not a secret.

"Yes. His name is Liam and he has a metal type ability. He is extremely proficient in it. I have seen him bring down an entire building pulling on the metal buried inside. It was horrible, there were people inside." The boy had a horrified expression.

"Alright. Let's continue." She is led into the D building and into a spacious cell. Looking around cautiously the boy quickly retreated to the outside and locked the door.

As soon as he fled. A pair of green eyes came from the darknes staring straight into the closed cell. The girl inside went to look for in mate uniforms trying to get out of the ruff clothes.

She can't take a bath with the water here. Not to mention, who knows how many zombies are in the shower places here?

She didn't dare send out her power. Her space power has reached level 9. At this stage an ability user will have enough mental power to realize their surroundings with just a thought. When the power increase, the mental power will also increase which is why the powerful people are able to drive mechas better than normal supernatural power users.

The zombie outside has felt Amelia's plant power nuclei calling to it like a becon, he is about to advance a level, how useful is this level 9 crystal nuclei?

At level 7, zombies are no longer mindless nor are they like children, they have grown up people's intelligence at this time. They also don't have rotten skin and disfigured appearance. They just have different skin tone and eyes.

The skin tone is very pale and ice cold as if they do not have blood, and the eyes are black with pupils showing their supernatural abilities color. For instance, this zombie has black eyes and bright green pupils. A clear sign of being plant type ability user.

Amelia feels like she is surrounded by vicious beasts but compared to the humans out there it is a breeze. Maybe. She looked around the cell and realized it is made for two people. There is a bunk bed but both beds are full of dry blood.

This is the place where Shane is imprisoned. He will break out any day now and kill all the powerful people here before leaving. She needs to find a way to hide her level 9 plant powers. This is because at level 9 upward there is no need to hide because the level or the type of power a person has will be hidden at this time. However, the prerequisite is that the user is fully integrated with their power. In other words, they understand the intricacies of their power.

Amelia had increased her levels with the use of resources instead of cultivating diligently. She needs to understand her power thoroughly and become a true level 9 powerhouse.

She thought for a moment if she should try breaking through to level nine in plant powers. But then she remembered how she got here. What if her plant power sent her to the most green and lustrous forest in the world?

She took out a purple stone from her ring. The space of the ring isn't much and she hadn't put anything inside before. At the time she was too busy making light armor so the ring had been empty before she put the small hill of an unknown stone resource inside.

She can feel the space elements in the stone. Though not strong in one stone, if there is an entire mountain or in this case, desert worth of this stuff, then it's possible to reach out to her own space power. But there is something else in the stone, an element she is not familiar and this element is dominant.

She suddenly heard movements from outside and put the stone down. Can the zombies open the cell doors? It's possible. This place is full of powerful zombies.

Just as she is puzzled she saw the bed where the stone was placed lavitate. The metal bed can not leave the floor but the mattress is not, so it is now floating. The large stain of dried blood makes this scene gloomy.

She took several steps back. "Ghost." She mummers looking at the bloodly sheets and pillows. She actually wants to scream bloody Mary but who would bother helping her? She took the stone from the flying bed. If it wants to fly, leave her things.

However, when she took back the stone the mattress fell to the ground with a dud sound. Amelia put the stone back and it floated again. She looked at the item in her hands and felt like she found another one of those mysterious resources the aliens want.

It seems most of the Island is sitting on this stuff. How hasn't the Island floating in the air yet? This must be called something awesome like 'Gravity stone.' She concluded this is the name.

How easy would flying devices be if they have this stone? This seems very valuable so she will mine it bit by bit and hide it away. This place will be fought over by the governments if they found out. That Shane guy shouldn't find anything before his departure. With this thought, she forced herself to learn about her plant type powers, but she won't go under like last time.
