Chapter 2: OMG, I Transmigrated Into A Boring Novel.

"Eun-woo, it's me"

Eun-kyung was filled with glee as she laid eyes on Eun-woo, a familiar face. The incredulity at her own happiness overwhelmed Eun-kyung, as she pondered how she could be happy to see him. Eun-woo was visibly perplexed, as he pulled out his phone while looking at her. "Yes I can see that, Ji-woo"

Eun-kyung was astonished that her brother was so well-acquainted with this person that he knew her name, "Wait, if he knows her name then...." she realised the imminent danger that was about to befall her. Reacting quickly, she lunged for Eun-woo's phone. Eun-woo failed to notice Eun-kyung's actions, and she was able to grab the phone from him. He tried to grab it from her so she threw it with force on the ground.

Eun-woo, with his mouth agape, could not believe the sight in front of him as he looked at his phone, which lay on the ground with cracks on the screen. Eun-kyung pleaded with him to listen to her "Please hear me out, I'm not Ji-woo, I'm Eun-kyung, your sister." Eun-woo, who appeared enraged, scowled and claimed to be the only child in his family, thereby refuting Eun-kyung's claim of being his sister.

Despite Eun-kyung's attempts to dissuade Eun-woo, she failed as he picked up his phone from the ground and ignored her. As she was contemplating Eun-woo's statement, the elevator doors opened, and she saw the older male that was with her in the hospital room previously was running towards her. Realising what was in store, she began to run, as Eun-woo saw her running he followed her in hot pursuit, screaming at the top of his voice "When did you become a fast runner". She shouted back "I told you I'm not Ji-woo."

Eun-kyung fled the facility, and looked around for a way out of there. Just in time, a taxi stopped beside her. She saw a young girl, almost her age, alight from the taxi. The girl seemed surprised to see Eun-kyung "Ji-woo, what are you..." but Eun-kyung, who was utterly done with the name Ji-woo got into the taxi, requesting the driver to take her as far away as possible before the girl could finish asking her question. Then she locked the taxi's door.

Her escape, however, was short-lived as the relentless three Musketeers caught up with her, banging on the taxi window and insisting that she alight. At this point, the driver, having noticed Eun-kyung's hospital gown, inquired whether she was capable of leaving the hospital. Eun-kyung, desperate to escape, "I promise that I will pay you double the fare" Incredulous, the driver asked her with what she intended to pay.

Realising that the driver was unmoved, she reluctantly left the taxi, but before the three Musketeers could hold her, she spoke up "I can walk back myself" but they only looked at her in disbelief "I won't run away again, I promise" she said the last part with her fingers crossed behind her back.

As she arrived at the entrance to her hospital room, she noticed that all the reporters had vanished, she didn't think too much of it and entered the room only to be accosted by the brightly adorned lady who still appeared to be crying. The lady accused Eun-kyung of being ungrateful and wanting to bring more shame to the family. Before the situation could worsen, a figure appeared in front of Eun-kyung.

"U-jin dear, that girl needs to be taught a lesson" if Eun-kyung was told that this woman could speak in such a lovely way, she wouldn't believe it.

"She just recovered, instead of making her to do the same thing again and hurt herself, we should show her how much we care about her so that she won't be subjected to a sense of abandonment" he turned towards her with an expression she couldn't quite decipher.

"Ok U-jin, I'll do as you say," acquiesced the lady with a hint of reluctance in her voice.

"I think I have heard that name from somewhere," Eun-kyung pondered as she reclined back on the bed.

Observing this, the physician and the nurse that stood like a statue in the room took this as a cue to proceed with their work. After some time, the physician proclaimed, "She seems to be recovering well and can be discharged tomorrow."

"What? She can't leave the hospital," Eun-woo protested from across the room, getting everyone's attention.

"Don't look at me like that. We need to check her brain because she mistook me as her brother and kept on saying that she is not Ji-woo" he said, giving her signs to back him up. However, she remained taciturn knowing that such accusation entailed a possibility of being institutionalized.

"What he's saying, is it true Ji-woo?" inquired the physician with a hint of incredulity.

"For goodness' sake, I've already said that I'm not Ji-woo," Eun-kyung exclaimed but covered her mouth immediately worried that she had given herself away.

"Indeed, we really need to perform a brain checkup," concluded the physician, turning to the nurse, "Please make all the necessary arrangements." With a nod of compliance, the nurse exited the room.

"But there is no need for such a procedure as there is nothing wrong with me," protested Eun-kyung, attempting to rise from the bed. However, she was stopped by U-jin's firm grip on her arm, shaking his head subtly.

"Then may I inquire as to your true identity?" queried the physician with a perplexed expression before taking his leave upon receiving no response from Eun-kyung.

"So now you prefer Eun-woo as your brother instead of me," fired the youngest male in the room with agitation.

"Well, he does seem to bear a certain semblance to Ji-woo," quipped Eun-kyung playfully, further infuriating him as he stormed out of the room with a slam of the door.

Ignoring the incident, Eun-kyung turned to the remaining individuals in the room, "Could you kindly introduce yourselves to me?"

"I am Ga-ram, your devoted friend," replied the young girl around her age with excitement. Eun-kyung blinked at her and turned to the two males that were in the room.

"I know your names, but what are your roles in my life?"

"He is your...."

"I'm your student council's president and he is my best buddy, we came to check up you" U-jin interrupted Eun-woo. 'So that's why, but I could have sworn that he was more than that because of the looks he passes my way' she thought then turned to the last one in the room.

"Let me guess you are my sister right" she asked the lady, she didn't know if she was seeing things but the lady smiled shyly at her.

"No, I'm not that young, I'm actually your aunt"

"But you look so young to be my aunt" she continued to compliment her but was interrupted by U-jin.

"We will take our leave now, we will come again tomorrow" U-jin reiterated with a slight exertion while he forcibly pulled a disconcerted Eun-woo along with him. Ji-woo's aunt scampered after them to bid farewell.

Seeing that they were now alone in the room, Eun-kyung beamed at Ga-ram with a mischievous glint in her eye, and the young girl shuddered at the intensity of her expression. "What is it with that grin on your face?" She voiced her apprehensions in a shrill voice.

"You're my best friend, right? Can I seize your mobile?" Eun-kyung interlocked her hands with Ga-ram's and waited for her response.

"Of course," Ga-ram said as she handed her phone over to Eun-kyung, then she attempted to unlock it with fervor.

"It's locked," she huffed sardonically.

"Use your fingerprint," Ga-ram prompted her friend.

"I can't believe you're divulging such zealous vindictiveness. Even I couldn't dare to do it to any of my friends," Eun-kyung said, bemused at Ga-ram's willingness to relinquish her privacy.

Nonetheless, she utilized the fingerprint scanner and proceeded to make a call to her brother, but the phone operator notified that the number did not exist. She tried her own and her parents' numbers too, only to receive the same response. She looked at the phone in great wonder.

Ga-ram noted Eun-kyung's dazed expression and questioned her in confusion as she came closer to look at her phone, "Who are you attempting to contact? This numbers seems different from our native code."

"Aren't we in South Korea?" Her voice trembled with concern.

"We are."

"But you said this code isn't of this country," she breathed faintly in stupor before dropping the phone onto the bed.

"Eun-kyung, are you alright?" Ga-ram asked, anxiety staining her voice.

"I think... maybe..." Eun-kyung stuttered, "I transmigrated into another universe." she continued her disjointed musings while Ga-ram wrapped her in a warm embrace, attempting to pacify her. "Everything will be alright, you will recover from this unheard-of episode soon enough."

Eun-kyung didn't heed Ga-ram's futile attempts to offer comfort and dwelled on her burgeoning panic. "I have transmigrated into an unknown cosmos, a realm that I lack even a morsel of information about," she ruminated.

She stared wide-eyed and exclaimed, "Hold on, isn't U-jin the name of the protagonist in my brother's book? He also served as the student council's president, and Eun-woo was his assistant who assisted him in exacting revenge, and Ga-ram was one of the cheerleaders, who aided the group in their efforts."

Eun-kyung grew increasingly flustered, "OMG, I transmigrated into a boring novel."
