Chen Fan appraises the equipment

It was approaching 8 pm and it was time to go and appraise the magic equipment. As I made my way into the car which the Wei's had sent to pick me up, I saw Chen Fan and greeted him "Hey how are you doing?"

"You again, did the Wei family call you here?" He replied.

"Why of course I have shown my skills to them as well as yourself." I replied putting my finger on my chin.

"I guess that's true but can I ask you a question?" He asked.

"Go ahead." I replied.

"What's your cultivation level currently?" He questioned.

"Hmmm, if we are going to put it the upper cultivation levels that peak stage of qi refinement and I may break through to connate being anytime now." I replied with a satisfying smile.

"What! Cough, I'm surprised you could reach that level at your age on earth of all places." He said breaking character at the shocking news.

"Haha~ you praise me too much, however, let's end this here as we have arrived." I said as I open my door.

We both headed in with the chauffeur leading us in.

"Mr Chen and Mr Feilong are here." Wei Changfeng said as we entered.

"You got two boys to authenticate magical equipment, is there no one useful in Chuzhou." He replied as he continued to laugh.

"Xing Zhong you are in Chuzhou, not Tianhe if you keep being presumptuous then I will throw you out!" Wei Changfeng retaliated.

"Hah, if your two elder brothers were here I would shut my mouth, but you? You're not on the same level as them yet!." Xing Zhong quickly rebutted.

"You!" was all Wei Chenfang could get out.

"Calm down be civil both of you." An old man interrupted. "You gentleman who has come to authenticate, come take a seat since you here." He continued as he gestured for us to sit.

"Mr Chen and Mr Feilong allow me to introduce, third master Wei who also dabbles in foreign trade, Xing Zhong from the coastal city Tianhe that controls Haimao group and does overseas business and that is the reason he is at odds with third master Wei. Then we have the ancient elder, Zheng Jiuling, a famous millionaire from Chuzhou and many address him as 'master Zheng'." The chauffeur informed us.

"Mr Gu since we are all here show us the equipment." Zheng Jiuling said breaking the tension in the air.

"Okay." Mr Gu said as he opened a box that contained a trigram pattern with the ying-yang symbol in the middle

"Eh." Was Chen Fan's response.

-POV of Wei Changfeng

"Mr Chen, what do you think?" I said seeing him have some sort of reaction.

'He does not look like a master, I shouldn't have listened to Lin to bring two kids in.'

-Back to mc POV

"What else can he think? it's obviously authentic!" Xing Zhong replied.

"I'm afraid these boys don't know what magic equipment is." Zheng Jiuling replied as he shook his head.

"Ha!" Chen Fan simply said as he thought 'It's a piece of magical equipment whose rudiment cannot stand any more burden and has cracks on it. Unfortunately, none of them respects me so I don't need to tell them.'

"Master Qi, please." Zheng Jiuling says as a man with long brown hair and in blue martial clothing stands up and pulls out a gold circle with a hole through it.

A/N: I'm going to skip some of the dialogue as I don't want to just repeat the manhwa in this part.

"Hmph, our great master Wu is much better compared to your master Qi who cant even sense what this does!" Xing Zhong said in reply to master Qi's antics pretending to sense something.

Wu Shanhe stood up and used some Qi to activate the trigram.

"Real magic equipment!" Xing Zhong, Zheng Jiulong and third master Wei all said in unison.

Mr Gu stood forward and said "Since you gentleman since you have seen it what price are you offering?"

"Wait, What do you think Mr Chen?!" Xing Zhong interrupted as he pointed towards Chen Fan.

Chen Fan stood up and repeated what he thought about earlier surprising everyone.

'Damn it he's a cultivator!' Wu Shanhe thought

"What is the meaning of this!" Wei Changfeng stood up and shouted.

"Isn't it obvious, Xing Zhong, Master Wu and Mr Gu wanted to trick you, third master Wei." I said re-establishing my presence.

"Great Master Wu!" Xing Zhong said calling for help at being called out.

"Boy, how dare you undo all my hard work!" Wu Shanhe said approaching Chen Fan.

"What you want a fight?" Chen Fan replied with confidence.

"Mr Wu this is not somewhere you can swag around!" Zheng Jiulong replied as he called in guards who surrounded Wu Shanhe.

"Boy, you ruined my plan how can I spare you. Check this magic equipment out!" Wu Shanhe said with a snicker as he places a jade pot on the table summoning a purple ghost, "Boy aren't you afraid?" He continued as everyone else was in fear besides Chen Fan and I.

"It's nothing but a ghost keeping pot, let me show you what real magic equipment is!" Chen fan says as he was surrounded by the ghost as he pulls off his jade necklace as he continues and shouts "Thunder!" Which brought down thunder and killed the ghost leaving everyone in awe.

"Tianshe's thunder arts!" Wu Shanhe said in fear as he realised he had lost. Which upon this realisation he dropped to the floor and prostrated continuously saying "Spare me great master!"

The usual conversation of Chen Fan asking if Wu Shanhe accepts his magic equipment and fame being ruined which of course he accepts to save his own life.

"Don't let me see you in Chuzhou again!" Chen Fan said as Wu Shanhe ran for his life.

"Please spare me Mr Chen it's illegal to murder someone!" Xing Zhong stuttered as Chen Fan turned towards him.

"You were just pushing me around, where is that attitude now?" Chen Fan asked.

"Please I will give you anything!" Xing Zhong pleaded.

"How much were you going to charge for the plate?" Chen Fan asked Mr Gu.

"45 million." Mr Gu replied.

"45 million to spare your life." Chen Fan said to Xing Zhong.

"Yes, yes 45 million for my life, ill pay." XIng Zhong quickly replied.

"Get the money in front of me in three days! Now get lost!" Chen fan shouted as Mr Gu and Xing Zhong scurried off.

"I always knew you were capable Mr Chen." Wei Changfeng repeated as he ass licked Chen Fan.

A/N: Not literally ass licked it's figurative same as ass-kissing.

The conversation continued with Chen Fan asking questions about what they meant by Daoist with it ending with Chen Fan casually saying he had forged the thunder jade pendant earlier.

"You can forge magic equipment?!" Wei Changfeng said in response.

"Yes." Chen Fan simply replied.

"Can you create another 8 trigram plate and name your price for it?" Wei Changfeng asked.

"Me too." Zheng Jiulong added.

"If you provide me with top quality jade I can make some for you." Chen Fan replied.

This ended with them agreeing and Chen Fan being seen out with my presence being ignored again which I shrugged off and headed out and began heading home to prepare the array link as Chen Fan should be making his own array tomorrow.

While somewhere in a nightclub in Tianhe, Xing Zhong and Wu Shanhe were planning to invite Lin Hu (Master Hu) to help them seek revenge.

A/N: I know this was basically the same as it was in the manhua but it's here so people know what happened but if you want it more detailed it was in chapter 28 I believe. Also, I know you wanted the MC to do something here but I realised there was no need really as top-quality jade he can be provided with later on when he establishes himself wherever he goes.
