Sweet and Sour~

"Gabriel san?! What's going on here?" Matthew looked at Gabriel resembled a child, who was pouting profusely.

"Hmph!" However, Gabriel didn't seem to be in the mood to answer, as she just moved her gaze sideways with a hmph!

"Are you upset, is it because of the promise? I am sorry I was a bit busy, but I didn't forget about our promise." Matthew earnestly tried to explain himself.

"Hmph" But it didn't seem to be working. Matthew was at a loss for words, not having any past experience, it was really hard for him to know how to deal with this situation.

As he was brainstorming about the situation, he suddenly remembered a post he saw on the internet before reincarnating into this world. "Oh, this could work." And luckily, he had something which could help in this situation. He quickly conjured a space-time magic circle, and then he moved his hand towards the magic circle, half of his hand disappeared as it entered the magic circle and when he pulled back, he had a beautiful box in his hand.

"Look what I have got for you~ I told you I didn't forget about our promise." Matthew said in an earnest tone, if anyone saw his they won't think, but in fact he was lying, he just bought the cake because he also likes sweet things, he had already forgotten about the promise to visit her because the day of grand opening of his company was not far away.

"!!… I-If you think you can, I will forgive you this easily, then you are mistaken." However, surprisingly, Gabriel didn't take the bait. Mathew was very surprised by her response, he never thought that this sweet angel can act this spoiled.

However, Matthew was still not defeated, he took out another weapon this time–

"Oh, is that so? Doesn't that mean you are not going to eat this cotton candy either?" It was cotton candy, the same cotton candy enjoyed so much when they took a stroll around the city.

"Hahaha, sure, I promise." Seeing this grown up lady happily nibble onto the cotton candy, Mathew's heart was filled with warmth, and unconsciously he too started smiling gently at her.

He took out a few more sweets and gave them to Gabriel, who pulled him into a big hug. After that, they played some games and Matthew read some stories to Gabriel, who listened to them earnestly like a little child.

Just like that, it was already evening and Mathew teleported back to his room without even the slightest bit of clue about what was awaiting his return.

"Huh, why is the room so dark?" As soon as Matthew arrived, he noticed that his room was unusually dark, and he also couldn't feel Kalawarner's or Kuroka's presence, which was odd as, at least one of them would always be present, waiting for his return, but oddly enough there was no one there.

"Welcome back, you sure enjoyed your quality time with another new woman huh~" Suddenly Matthew heard a chilling voice from behind him, his senses warned him of incoming danger, he quickly drew his wings to dodge the incoming shadow spears.

Matthew immediately recognized the attacker, after all, he knew the owner of that voice and those spears very well.

"Nyx?!" Sure enough, Nyx was sitting on a chair with arms folded, although she was smiling, but her eyes weren't.

"When did you come back?" There was a hint of joy as well as a bit of fear in Matthew's voice. Joy because he was seeing Nyx after one whole month, and fear because Nyx looked really angry.

Nyx answered in a displeased tone." When you were busy playing around with two more new women. It appears that my contractor is quite popular, huh?"

"I-It's not like that, you see it's all because of work, Yeah. Because of work." Matthew started making excuses as if out of reflex.

He already had a magic barrier prepared, and he was ready to dodge just in case he couldn't handle her attack.

However, the attack never came…

"Huh?" Matthew looked confusedly at Nyx who just sighed in response.

"Forget it, I came here to discuss something with you. But let's change the locations first." Noticing the seriousness in Nyx's eyes Matthew undid the magic circle however before he could ask her anything, suddenly the scenery around them changed, with a snap of her fingers Nyx had teleported both of them instantly.

"Huh, this place is?" Matthew found himself in an unfamiliar room. It looked like those super luxurious rooms of Royal palace Matthew only saw in movies.

However, before Matthew could ask anything Nyx answered.

"We are inside my castle or to be more specific my bedroom." Nyx answered matter-of-factly as she sat on her bed and motioned him to sit beside her.

"Matthew didn't know how to react in this situation, so he just decided to do as told and say besides Nyx."

Matthew however a bit surprised,

although he maintained a straight face, he couldn't think straight at all because he never thought he would be able to visit her palace, at least not this soon.

His heart was filled with Anticipation. That seriousness in her tone as well as her bringing Matthew to her castle suddenly, and she said she wanted to talk about something important, what was she going to tell him? His heart was racing with anticipation, fear, and excitement at the same time.

As if noticing his excitement, Nyx took a deep breadth and began explaining the reason behind her visit this time.

"Phew~ What I wanted to talk is about what I have been hiding from you all this time." Matthew held his breadth in surprise and tension instantly filled the air.
