While Iris was secretly above the roof giving the scariest looks imaginable towards Ye Fan, on the ground floor of the Jade Factory...
"Well well well, look who it is." Gu Changsheng smirked as he approached Ye Fan.
"..." Hearing a familiar voice he hadn't quite expected to hear in this jade factory, Ye Fan slowly turned around to Gu Changshang in a daze.
"Haha, look at that stupid look on your face, you really thought you could hide from my prying eyes, didn't you?" Gu Changsheng spoke in a pretentious tone.
"No... I'm just surprised that you never learn, ever. I've already humiliated you 3 times within the past month and even your father considers me as a benefactor, and yet you still keep coming back like a cockroach to try and fight me." Ye Fan was truly astonished by Gu Changsheng's lack of braincells.
He even recalled saying a line similar to this back when Gu Changsheng brought over his actual family bodyguards to deal with him.
And yet, for some reason, Gu Changsheng still wants to fight him.
But of course, he doesn't mind it and even welcomes it with open arms since this was the only rich second generation he could seem to beat up anyways, unlike that other rich second generation that has all the beauties flocking to him for some reason.
"That's because you've gotten lucky during all of those times beforehand, but now that it's just you and me, and my father doesn't want anything to do with you anymore, you're dead meat." Gu Changsheng held his head high and spoke in a condescending tone.
"Oh yeah? Are you going to take me on all by yourself then? Cause I don't see any of your lackeys anywhere." Ye Fan wasn't too surprised about Gu Shunzhang suddenly switching sides all of a sudden considering what had happened last time and retorted back in a mocking tone as he briefly glanced around the jade factory and saw nobody unusual amidst the crowd of customers shopping in the factory.
"Haha, I'll admit, you're quite strong for a country bumpkin, so I wouldn't dare take you head on..." Gu Changsheng then suddenly raised his hands up in the air and clapped once.
Immediately afterwards, all of the people present in the jade factory that were just seemingly going on about their day suddenly froze in place and slowly turned their heads towards Ye Fan.
"But can you go up against everyone here?" Gu Changsheng smiled sinisterly.
Ye Fan, who had a haughty look on his face all the way up until now, couldn't help but get nervous as he witnessed this scene unfold.
Truthfully, when Gu Changsheng had shown up at the Jade factory to confront him once again, he had thought that Gu Changsheng was just going to bring his dozen or so bodyguards with him and try to have them fight him like usual.
But now seeing as though Gu Changsheng had actually laid out a trap for him and brought over a few hundred or so people instead, some of them even appearing to be martial arts experts, Ye Fan knew that he was in big trouble now.
Now of course, Ye Fan was used to fighting with massive groups of people already, and he could easily fight against multiple master martial artists all at once and still come out triumphant and whatnot, but the problem was that he was still in so much pain right now.
In fact, whatever the hell it was that Luna had given him back a few days ago made his body ache so much that it felt as though he could collapse at any time.
So if he were to fight all of these people present right now, he'd undoubtedly collapse before he could even take half of them out.
With that in mind, Ye Fan swallowed his pride and began quickly looking around his surroundings to see if there was any way he could somehow fool this idiot and get out of this predicament.
And as lady fortune would have it for him as always, he soon noticed a bunch of rough looking rocks with numbers labeled on them sitting inside a display case right next to where Gu Changsheng was standing at.
"You know what, instead of me humiliating you as always after I beat up all of your lackeys, how about we do something a little different and test our luck with those gamble stones over there instead? Loser has to kowtow to the winner." Ye Fan pointed to the ordinary looking stones with numbers on them and spoke calmly.
"Are you trying to change things up now because you know that you'll get beaten up by all these people?" Gu Changsheng snickered.
"No, I just think that you're still at a disadvantage even with everyone here and so I wanted to offer you an opportunity to level the playing field. Of course, you're free to decline my offer though if you're scared of being humiliated in front of all of your lackeys this way." Knowing how these rich-second generations typically thinks, Ye Fan taunted.
"Haha, if you really think that I'd lose to you over gambling rocks then you must've truly forgotten who I am. Alright then, I'll accept your stupid proposal. One of the people I've hired here is an appraiser anyways, so we'll use him to assess the value of the stones inside of the gamble stones once they've been cut." Gu Changsheng lifted his chest out and said confidently and then turned to a group of men wearing Changshans, "Where's the item appraiser at?"
Immediately after Gu Changsheng had finished asking his question, one man, who had a grey hair and a grey beard, stepped forward with his hands held behind his back and bowed politely.
"I'm the appraiser you wish for, Master Gu." The gray-bearded old man stated in a respectful and raspy tone.
"Good." Gu Changsheng nodded in satisfaction, "Ye Fan, since you were the one who proposed to play with these gamble stones first, you don't mind if I get the first pick, do you?"
Ye Fan shook his head and gestured for Gu Changsheng to go ahead.
"That's what I thought." Gu Changsheng smiled condensendingly as though he had expected this response already and then glanced at the display case that contained the gamble stones.
Now, to most normal people, all of these rough rocks might just simply look like ordinary rocks one can easily find out on the streets and such, however, the reality of it is that that these rocks that are sold in places like jade factories often concealed gemstones in them.
The types of gemstones that are inside of these rocks are unknown though, and the numbers labled on the rocks corresponds to the percentage of a gemstone being inside.
For example, a rock with the number 10 labled on it means that there's a 10% chance that is a gemstone inside of it, and so on and so forth.
The higher the number the stone was though, the more expensive it was to purchase, and stones that were numbered 50 or higher typically costed about 50 thousand to 100 thousand yuan each.
Now of course, since most jade factories sell gamble stones that can fit in the palm of someone's hands, even if someone had gotten lucky and managed to get a gemstone out of one of these gamble stones, the gemstones wouldn't typically be worth more than what the person had paid for it.
Only if the gemstone that the person had obtained was extremely rare and sought after would they then make a profit out of it, and that's why it was called a gamble stone.
Of course, Gu Changsheng knew all about this beforehand though as this was common knowledge amongst the upper class, but since the Gu family was actually a family whose rise to wealth and power actually secretly started off with profiting from gamble stones centuries ago, he naturally knew how to spot a profitable gamble stone.
So after scrutinizing the gamble stones inside the display case for a few more minutes, Gu Changsheng casted a wicked smile on his face.
"Hey, give me this one." Gu Changsheng waved one of the employees over and pointed at a gamble stone with the number 78 on it.
The female employee nodded, took the gamble stone out of the display case, and then pulled out a mobile credit card reader.
"That'll be 78 thousand yuan." The female employee said respectfully.
Gu Changsheng didn't hesitate whatsoever and swiped his credit card with a smug look on his face.
"Thank you for your patronage." The female employee bowed respectfully, and brought the stone over to the lapidary room, where the stone cutting machine was located.
She then meticulously placed the gamble stone under the stone cutting machine and began cutting the stone.
Whirr! Whirr!
Under the gazes of the 400 or so people present, the stone cutting machine whizzed and buzzed as its blade saw cut through the stone like butter.
It continued doing so until eventually...
Click!
The sound of the machine stopped and everyone in attendance stared intently as the employee slowly removed the blade saw from the machine.
And once she had fully lifted the blade saw away from the stone, it was revealed that...
"It's an Imperial Glass jade!" The item appraiser, who hadn't been expecting this at all, hurriedly shouted in excitement.
Upon hearing what the item appraiser had stated, the entire crowd errupted into a frenzy.
"What!? A Imperial Glass Jade?"
"Long live the Gu family!"
"Nooo! That could've been me!"
"Uhh guys, what's an Imperial Glass Jade?"
"You fool! How are you a mercenary and not know what an Imperial Glass Jade is?"
Almost every single person here present couldn't help but blurt out at least something when they heard that the Young Master of the Gu family had gotten an Imperial Glass Jade from a gambling rock.
After all, Imperial Glass Jades were the highest grade of jade that was currently available in the market!
A single kilo of Imperial Glass Jade could easily fetch anywhere between 8 to 10 million yuan on average!
And they had just watched Gu Changsheng snag one that's about the size of his palms for 78 thousand yuan!
How crazy is that!?
Gu Changsheng also couldn't contain his excitement upon hearing the news since he had never been so lucky before in the past, and he couldn't help but laugh hysterically.
"Hahaha, now do you see the difference between me and you, Ye Fan? You're nothing more than a mere cockroach compared to..." Midway through Gu Changsheng's sentence however...
Whirr!
The sound of the stone cutting machine was heard cutting through rock once again.
So everyone in the room immediately stopped their chattering and turned their attention towards the cutting machine once again.
And from there, they could see a gamble rock with the number 8 on it being cut whilst Ye Fan was standing right next to the machine, eyeing it.
It was very clear to everyone that Ye Fan had just also purchased a gamble rock while no one was paying attention to him and intended to actually try and compete with Gu Changsheng's Imperial Glass Jade.
"Wow Ye Fan, I knew there was something wrong with your head the moment you chose to go against me and all, but I didn't think you'd still actually try and compete against me even after seeing that I got an Imperial Glass Jade. Why don't you go save yourself the embarassment now and kowtow to me while I still give you the chance to." Gu Changsheng smiled contemptuously as he flaunted the jade in his hand.
Ye Fan simply ignored Gu Changsheng however and kept his eyes locked onto the stone on the cutting machine.
This made Gu Changsheng extremely furious as nobody has ever dared to ignore him while he was speaking to them before, and so Gu Changsheng pointed at Ye Fan, intending to tell everyone to start attacking him.
But before Gu Changsheng could manage to say anything however, a radiant red glow began eminating from the rock.
The intense glow was so beautiful and so unfamiliar to everyone, including Gu Changsheng, that they all couldn't help but subconciously hold bck their breath and gulp nervously as they stared at the machine cutting the rock.
Then after a minute later, the machine came to a halt.
And once the blade was lifted away from the rock...
Nothing else happened.
Nobody talked, nobody moved, and nobody even blinked or breathed.
Everyone just stared at the rock in silent.
After all, nobody was exactly sure what they were looking it.
The 'rock' appeared to be semi-transparent, was covered in a bright red aura that seemed to flicker from time to time, and had pulse like flames trapped within the stone.
In other words, it was like a flame trapped within a crystal orb.
So everyone turned to the item appraiser in hopes of an explanation.
"I deeply apologize to everyone, but I too, have no idea of what it is." Feeling the gazes of 400 pairs of eyeballs all turned towards him, the item appraiser lowered his head and humbly apologized.
Most people shook their heads in disappointment and began to turn back to admire the beautiful 'rock' again.
But just then...
"A fucking Bloodfire Ruby?!"
