Skipping The Plot?

When Lai Meiyun had arrived back to the Lai manor and stepped into the dojo where Lai Ho was at...

"Grandpa..." Lai Meiyun nervously said and didn't even dare look at her Grandpa in the eyes.

"What's wrong my Granddaughter? Are your subordinates giving you a hard time again?" Lai Ho stopped practicing his martial arts technique and asked curiously after seeing that Lai Meiyun looked worried and depressed.

"It's not that, Grandpa... here, I'll show you..." Immediately right after Lai Meiyun had finished her sentence, two bodyguards carrying a open casket with Ling Feng inside of it entered the dojo and placed the casket right in front of Lai Ho.

"What happened to him!?" Lai Ho quickly ran over to the casket and touched Ling Feng's wrist to see if he could still feel a pulse on him.

But he couldn't feel any pulse on him at all.

"Grandpa... he got murdered..." Lai Meiyun saw the frightened look on her Grandpa's face and thought for a brief second if she should tell him the truth or not.

However, she decided to tell him the truth anyways since her Grandpa was going to eventually find out what had happened anyways.

"Murdered? Which family did it and how did they kill him?" Lai Ho was shaken up after hearing what Lai Meiyun had said.

Let alone a Grandmaster, it was already hard enough to contain a Master Martial Artist from wreaking havoc to begin with, and only by using heavy firepower or by getting another Master Martial Artist to fight back could one actually contain a Master Martial Artist.

So that fact that a family could kill a Grandmaster and is actually residing in this city right now was something extremely scary to even think about.

"It wasn't a family that had planned an attack on him... Ronald was the one who killed him by stomping on his chest and disintegrating his heart out..."

"Ronald? From the Kuangge family? The young man that everyone had made fun of for being dumb?" Lai Ho raised one of his eyebrows and asked suspiciously.

Although he was extremely old and never really kept up to date about everything that was happening that didn't have anything to do with martial arts, he had still heard about the infamous Ronald before.

Even some of his elder friends would joke about it from time to time.

Of course, he never really made fun of Ronald though since he always had a sense of righteousness.

"Yes... Grandpa." Lai Meiyun looked down at Ling Feng's corpse and sighed in her heart.

Never in a million years would she ever think that the person that everyone had been making fun of for so many years was China's true powerhouse.

And the fact that everyone had assumed that he was just a brainless rich second generation who didn't know how to do anything else but simp for one girl clearly proved that Ronald had sucessfully tricked and played everyone for a fool.

Seeing that Lai Meiyun looked serious, Lai Ho also stared at Ling Feng's corpse pitifully.

Truthfully, Lai Ho respected Ling Feng a lot and had already planned to give about half of the Lai family wealth to Ling Feng after Ling Feng had completely cured his illness.

Not only was Ling Feng extremely humble and honestly seemed like a great person despite only knowing him for about a day or so, but Lai Ho had a good feeling that not only the Lai family, but the entirety of China as well will be able to sore one level higher than what it currently is at if they treated him right.

But now that Ling Feng had supposedly been killed, Lai Ho couldn't help but start to get infuriated at the person who had killed him, which was Ronald.

Lai Ho really wanted to avenge Ling Feng's death and kill Ronald right now, but if what his daughter had said was actually true, then he knew that he couldn't be impulsive now, otherwise the entire Lai family was just going to walk into death itself.

However, that still didn't mean that he was just going to leave the tyrannical Ronald and the Kuangge family to do whatever they want in the mainland of China.

While Lai Ho was planning out about how he should fight the Kuangge family and get rid of them from the face of the earth, another sudden realization had came up to him.

"How long has Ling Feng been dead for?" Lai Ho asked.

"Umm, about a little less than 40 minutes now? I quickly ran back here as fast as I could." Lai Meiyun replied back.

"40 minutes? And you said that Ronald only disintegrated his heart out? Than we still have some time to save him!" Lai Ho started to brighten up again.

"Really?" Lai Meiyun had also started to brighten up again.

She honestly admired Ling Feng and even started to idolize him a bit, so she was extremely sad when she saw that Ling Feng died in her own eyes.

But if there was a way to actually still save Ling Feng now, not only will she be able to meet her 'idol' again, but with Ling Feng on their side, perhaps there was also maybe a way to retaliate back against Ronald and the Kuangge family.

After all, even though Ronald was extremely strong, the Lai family had far more connections and a stronger family background than Ronald's family.

"Yes, even though he might suffer some brain damage since he's been out for too long now, we live in a modern era now! Quickly, call my team of personal doctors and tell them to immediately come over now, make sure you explain to them what happened as well so that they know what they need to bring!" Lai Ho then hurriedly left the dojo and went to get some supplies that'll preserve Ling Feng's body for a bit until the doctors came.

"Yes, Grandpa!" Lai Meiyun enthusiatically shouted out and then got on her phone in order to make the phone call.

While Ronald was laying on his bed going through a quiet wakefulness...

[Host. Sorry to disturb you at this time, but I have good news and bad news for you. Which one would you like to hear first?]

Hearing that the system's mechanical voice was ringing inside his head, Ronald slowly opened his eyes with a frown on his face.

Since this was the second time that the system had ever took the initiative to talk to him, Ronald was worried that something significant must've happened to the plot without him knowing.

So Ronald decided to hear the bad news first.

"The bad news."

[The probability of Ye Fan even showing up to tomorrow's plot is slim to none.]

"Why's that?" Ronald was almost certain he knew the reason why, but he decided to ask anyways.

[Because Ye Fan is heavily injured right now and is currently secretly recovering in a private hospital.]

"And I assume this is because Luna had kidnapped and tortured Ye Fan or something like that, right?"

[Yes, host.]

Ronald couldn't help but start to fall deep into thought after affirming that Luna was the one who had caused all of this.

If Ye Fan doesn't show up to the next plot tomorrow, then it was practically guranteed that the system was going to count the plot as a failure.

However, Ronald wasn't too worried about that since he could just do the same thing as he did to Gu Yuan and heal him.

And not only that, but he could technically fail a couple of plots here and there and still be able to return back to earth.

The main concern he had was the fact that Luna was a cultivator.

That's right, despite the fact that Ronald knew nothing about cultivation and the cultivators in this novel world besides briefly interacting with some in his previous life before, he was aware that Luna was a cultivator.

But how?

How did Luna actually know how to cultivate?

Not once did the novel ever mention that Luna knew how to cultivate, or even knew how to fight at all.

Sure, Luna might've learned how to cultivate from Ye Fan or from someone else in the second half of the story, but Ronald would've already been dead by the time that happens.

After thinking about it for awhile however, Ronald couldn't come up with anything at all.

'Well, on the bright side of things, at least Ye Fan is suffering this time around.'

"By the way, I'm not going to get punished because of this, right?"

[That's correct, host. Since you didn't directly or indirectly cause the plot to deviate and I currently have no idea why the heroines are acting so strangely, you won't be punished.]

"I see, what's the good news then?"

[The good news is that since Ye Fan is recovering at the hospital and can't show up to the plot tomorrow, you don't have to show up as well.]

"Huh? Are you positive?" Ronald asked skeptically.

Since Ye Fan was the protagonist, this means that logic doesn't apply to him and he could very well end up somehow fully recovering in just a blink of an eye.

[Yes, host. There is a 0% chance that modern medicines and machines can cure and heal Ye Fan, and only a cultivator with an extremely deep understanding of the medical field can fully cure Ye Fan.]

"That's good to know, thanks for letting me know system."

Even though Ronald still had some doubts in his head, since the system told him that he didn't have to show up to the plot tomorrow, he decided not to pursue the matter any further, and besides, Ronald hated showing up to the plots since that meant that he was going to have to humiliate himself and get face slapped.

So with all of that in mind, Ronald went straight to bed and slept peacefully for the rest of the night... completely oblivious that a pair of red crimson eyes was staring at him obsessively and adoringly in the darkest corner of the room.

'Wait a minute…'

'How come Luna can injure Ye Fan without a care in the world, but when I do it, his stupid plot armor comes in and saves the day?'
