Protagonists’ encounter

"Boss... I really think we should just go back to the Western World and get you medical treatment first before we continue trying to build up connections over here in China." Lucas suggested to Ye Fan as his eyes scanned Ye Fan bloodied up body from top to bottom.

After learning that Ye Fan had somehow miraculously escaped from a bunch of people who were significantly stronger than him last night, Lucas wanted to get out of China as soon as possible.

"No, I will not go back overseas, not until I finish what I had came here to do." Ye Fan stated with a firmly resolved look on his face.

After everything he had gone through ever since he had arrived back at China, Ye Fan's determination to seek revenge for his fallen family and conquer all of the beauties in China had reached an all time high.

Speaking of beauties in China, Ye Fan was genuinely surprised about Luna.

Even though Ye Fan was aware that Luna most likely hated him at the moment, he didn't think that she would go as far as to kidnap and gave him a pill which was still currently torturing him right now...

Or at least he didn't think that the mastermind behind the scenes would try and order her to do so.

That's right, Ye Fan still firmly believes that all of the pain and suffering he has gone through so far ever since he had came back to China was all because of a mastermind calculating his every move.

After all, it definitely wasn't a coincidence that Luna shows up and just decided to kidnap him all of a sudden literally right after the masked figure had ended up rendering him unconscious.

However, what surprised him the most wasn't the fact that the mastermind behind the scenes had ordered Luna to kidnap him and reveal to himself that she had kidnapped him...

It was the fact that Luna was significantly much stronger than him.

This meant that the mastermind behind the scenes was clearly someone who not only had a ton of influences back over at China, but most likely also had unfathomable strength himself.

There was no way that this mastermind would have subordinates that were stronger than Grandmasters if he himself wasn't strong.

However, as mentioned before, Ye Fan was certain that he had never offended anyone this powerful before.

But of course, despite knowing that his enemy was significantly stronger than him, Ye Fan wasn't worried in the slightest...

Since he'll be the one to prevail in the end!

"Boss, why don't we just try and continue building up more manpower and influence back overseas and maybe try to claim the Dragon King title that you've so long desired for? It'll be much easier to build up your influence in China then." Seeing the determined look on Ye Fan's face, Lucas kept on insisting that they should go back to the Western World.

"No means no, Lucas. I won't retreat back just because of some minor inconviences, and besides, nobody knows where the Dragon King is currently hiding at anyways." Knowing exactly what Lucas was worried about, Ye Fan instantly rebuked him back.

"My apologizes, boss." Lucas respectfully bowed his head down and didn't pursue the matter any further.

"By the way boss, just about a few hours ago, the Queen of the Leighton famil-" Before Lucas could fully finish his sentence however, a bunch of screams mentioning the name Lai Meiyun could he heard right outside of the hospital room.

"Lai Meiyun? Sounds like someone important. Lucas, go check out what's going on." Ye Fan said.

"Right away boss." Lucas then stepped out of the hospital room in order to follow the crowd of doctors into another hospital room.

And then after a few minutes later, Lucas stepped back into Ye Fan's hospital room.

"So? What's going on?" Ye Fan asked curiously.

"I'm not so sure about the exact detail, however, apparently the Lai family is currently trying to ressurect someone back from the dead." Lucas replied back.

"Bring someone back from the dead? How?" Ye Fan asked with a confused look on his face.

Even though Ye Fan had extraordinary medical skills and could save any normal human being from the brink of death, he couldn't actually bring someone who had died already back to life.

And if Ye Fan couldn't do it, then how would these doctors be able to manage to ressurect someone back from the dead?

"No clue boss, maybe the Lai family has some traditional chinese medicine that could bring him back from the dead?"

"What makes you say that?" Despite knowing that such a traditional chinese medicine doesn't exist, since Lucas was extremely smart and well versed in everything Chinese related, Ye Fan wanted to hear out his thought process.

"Taking into consideration that the Lai family is one of the oldest Martial Arts family still around to this day, I just assumed that maybe they knew a way to bring someone back from the dead." While Lucas didn't know much about the Lai family, considering that the Lai family were extremely prominent in China because of their deep rooted history, he thought that maybe the Lai family had the ability to create miracles, just like Ye Fan.

When Ye Fan heard that the Lai family was a Martial Arts family with a long and deep history, Ye Fan's lips started to curl upwards into a half smile.

For some reason, Ye Fan had a strong feeling that if he managed to somehow impress the Lai family and become aquainted with them, then maybe perhaps he would be able to officially start making his comeback.

And so with Lucas's help, Ye Fan slowly and painfully got out of his hospital bed and then started limping towards the hospital room the Lai family was at.

"I'm sorry Mr and Miss Lai, but we can't save him now." After doing a quick but thorough medical analysis on Ling Feng's lifeless body and confirming that it was too late for the young man, the dean of the hospital expressed his condolences to the Lai family.

"WHY NOT! AREN'T YOU GUYS SUPPOSE TO BE RENOWNED DOCTORS? YOU GUYS TOLD US BACK AT THE MANOR THAT HE COULD'VE STILL BEEN SAVED IF WE BROUGHT HIM TO THE HOSPITAL!" Lai Meiyun immediately grabbed the collar of the dean's white coat and shrieked at him.

The reason why Lai Meiyun was mournful about Ling Feng's death wasn't because she actually liked him or anything like that, despite somewhat admiring him, it was the fact that he was the only person she could rely on to cure her Grandpa's illness.

After all, considering that Ling Feng was a Grandmaster at such a young age, she truly believed that Ling Feng had no reason to lie to her, and besides, he wouldn't of gained anything anyways if he did lie to her.

"I-I'm r-really sorry Miss, w-we h-have the replacement heart right here... b-but you h-had brought the young man about a couple of minutes too late." Seeing the threatening look on Lai Meiyun's face, coupled with the fact that she was gripping his collar, the dean couldn't help but stutter some of his words.

"I DON'T CARE! IF YOU DON'T BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE RIGHT NOW THEN I'LL-" Just before Lai Meiyun could finish threatening the dean...

"Lai Meiyun, let go of the dean's collar this instant." Lai Ho stated in a solemn voice and then turned to face the dean.

"I apologize on behalf of my Granddaughter, she's just overwhelmed right now after everything that had happened so far in the last two hours. Can you please leave us alone for a few minutes?" Lai Ho said to the dean in a slightly respectful yet depressed tone.

"Of course, please take your time." The dean respectfully bowed to Lai Ho before leaving the Lai family alone with Ling Feng's corpse in the hospital room.

After watching the dean leave the hospital room, Lai Ho slowly turned around to look at Ling Feng's face and let out a deep sigh.

To be honest, since Lai Ho was already in his mid 80s, he didn't really care about getting his illness cured at all, since it would've only prolong his life for a couple of more years even if Ling Feng had managed to sucessfully cure his illness.

However, since Lai Ho was extremely patriotic at heart, he was disheartened by the fact that China had just lost probably one of the most promising and outstanding youth to ever exist.

After all, it was never heard of in the entire history of China for someone to become a Master of Martial Arts before they reach their adulthood, let alone a Grandmaster.

But alas, all he could do now is hopelessly stare at such a promising youth's lifeless body and accept that he won't be able to save his life.

Seeing the depressed look on her Grandpa's face, Lai Meiyun decided to not make a fuss any further and also stared at Ling Feng's lifeless corpse with a dejected expression.

Even though she was also aware that her Grandpa's life would be prolonged for only a few more extra years even if Ling Feng had successfully manage to cure her Grandpa's illness, she still really wanted her Grandpa's illness to get cured.

Ever since her parents had gotten assassinated when she was one years old, Lai Ho had taken care of her throughout her entire life, and she wasn't mentally ready to depart from her Grandpa just yet.

After staring at Ling Feng's lifeless corpse for a few more minutes...

"Grandpa…" Lai Meiyun looked at Ling Feng's body dejectedly

"My granddaughter, I know that you're extremely upset with Ling Feng's death, and believe me, I am as well, but there's nothing we can do about it now. The least we could do is give a proper burial for him and move on." Lai Ho stated in a gloomy tone.

"…" Lai Meiyun didn't even try to refute her grandpa's remarks but just stared at Ling Feng's lifeless body for a few more seconds before deciding that she needed a breather.

Just as Lai Meiyun was about to open the door and exit out of the hospital room however…

"I can bring him back to life!"
