Iris Is Suspicious
After spending a couple of minutes sitting down on the couch and blankly staring at the ceiling contemplating about something...
"System." Ronald suddenly called out to the system.
[Yes, host?]
"What's Iris's survivability rate given her current condition?"
[Would you like for me to run a diagnostic scan in order to find out?]
"Yes."
[Simple or detailed diagnostic scan?]
"Simple, but just tell me her survivability rate, I don't need to know all of the other bullshit right now." Since running a more detailed diagnostic scan would take longer for the system to process, and Ronald still wasn't completely sure that Iris could actually survive given her current condition, he decided to ask for a simple scan.
[Understood. Running a customized simple diagnostic scan on Heroine Iris, please wait approximately 10 seconds.]

[Current survivability rate: 100%.]
[Would you like for me to run any other scans, host?]
"No need." Ronald casually replied back and then started to fall deep into though.
'The inability to detect her presence despite being a few feet away from me.'
'Absolute sheer determination and willpower towards something as seen from the conversation.'
'Massive power surge including the ability to suddenly dodge most bullets when life is heavily endangered as displayed in the masquerade party.'
'And the guaranteed survivability rate despite the huge odds against her.'
'...'
'What if...?' Ronald couldn't help but slowly look towards Iris's direction with a cold gaze.
And then after staring at Iris's body for a few seconds, he suddenly got up from the couch, picked up one of the daggers that Iris had dropped on the floor, and slowly made his way infront of the couch that Iris was resting on.
Ronald then wiped off all of the blood that was on the blade with his suit, held the dagger slightly close to his face in order to examine the dagger, and after determining that the dagger was still extraordinary sharp, he looked at Iris's bloodied body in a eerie and creepy manner while contemplating if he should just kill her.
That's right, Ronald actually had the idea of killing her, or at least try.
Of course, Ronald didn't really want to kill Iris, since he still needed her to stay alive, however he just wanted to confirm a bizarre theory he had in mind.
And in order to confirm this 'theory' of his, he has to at least make an assassination attempt on Iris.
After staring at Iris and thinking about it for a little longer however, Ronald decided that he shouldn't do anything too rash just yet.
He knew that if this theory of his was completely wrong just like all of his other previous theories he's thought of in the past, and he does something completely irrational, then he'd most likely have to start everything all over again.
And Ronald definitely didn't want to do that.
Sure, although it was probably a good idea to start everything over again considering he has only spent a little over a month now in this life coupled with the fact that everything in this run hasn't gone the way he wanted to at all, his desire to leave this hellhole of a world and return back to earth was so high that he didn't want the one month he had spent on this life to go to waste.
Of course, Ronald had also considered the fact that the system might try and prevent him from trying to kill Iris, but he still didn't want to risk it nevertheless.
'6 years and 11 more months... huh.'
'Time passes by way too slowly when you're doing something you hate.'
Anyways, with all of that being said, Ronald casually threw the dagger at the puddle of blood where he had originally picked it up from, and then stood in the middle of the living room for a few more seconds in order to verify that the woman had indeed held up her part of the deal.
And sensing that none of the people in daoist robes were nearby him, Ronald decided that he might as well hold up his part of the deal and get it over with tonight.
But before he could do that however, he needed to make a phone call first.
"Yo Gu Changsheng, you free right now? I need your help with something."

"Uhh, so what exactly do you need all of these things for anyways?" When Gu Changsheng had arrived to the location he was suppose to meet Ronald at, which was a few miles away from the outskirts of the capital city seemingly in the middle of some grassy fields, he couldn't help but question Ronald with a dumbfounded look on his face while his guards were handing over to Ronald the supplies that he had asked for.
All of the supplies that Ronald had told him to bring while he had been talking to Ronald on the phone were all so distinct from one another that Gu Changsheng couldn't even tell what he was trying to make.
Like why the hell did Ronald need things like "5 Conjoined Flower petals, two purity leafs, a cauldron that could withstand 2000 degrees fahrenheit," and other random things like that.
And most of the things that Ronald had asked him to get were things that he's never even heard of before in his entire life.
But it didn't really matter if he knew what the items were or not since he had gotten his bodyguards to go search for those items anyways.
"Do you want to know?" Ronald replied back while putting the ingredients he had received into the cauldron.
"Not really, but did you really have to call me at 11 PM just for this?" Gu Changsheng said with dissatisfaction.
"Well it's not like the almighty Young Master of the Gu family had anything important to do, right?"
"Of course I was doing something important at the time! I was having a good time with my supermodel girlfriend in bed before you had suddenly called me." Gu Changsheng grumbled.
"Haha I'm sure you'll forget about it within a day from now." Ronald chuckled before closing the lid of the cauldron in order to start his pill refinement.
"Come on Ronald, what do you see me as? I treat all of my girlfriends with the uttermost respect." Gu Changsheng proudly announced while holding his nose up high.
"Yeah until you dump them for a new one a week later." Ronald jokingly stated.
"That's besides the point. But anyways, why did we have to come all the over here out in the middle of nowhere anyways? Couldn't we have just met back at my family manor or something?" Gu Changsheng couldn't help but ask in a confused tone.
"Nah, you see that weird looking facility over in the distance? There's someone that I have to urgently meet over there and I can't afford to wait any longer." Ronald lied.
The main reason why Ronald wanted to meet with Gu Changsheng seemingly out in the middle of nowhere and not some place like at the Gu family manor was because he wasn't too sure what Luna was doing right now and wanted to refrain himself from going back anywhere near the Gu family manor until he was certain that Luna couldn't trail him anymore.
"Who do you possibly want to meet this late in the night that badl- OH! I see who you want to meet up with." Gu Changsheng grinned.
"Who?" Ronald couldn't help but subconciously ask seeing the weird look on Gu Changsheng's face.
"You want to meet with another hot girlfriend of yours over in that facility! As expected from the great god!" Gu Changsheng enthustically shouted while looking at Ronald with praise and affirmation in his eyes.
"..." Ronald couldn't help but temporary stop refining his pill and stare at Gu Changsheng with a dumbfounded look on his face after hearing Gu Changsheng's statement.
Although he knew that Gu Changsheng had a loose screw in his head, he didn't think that Gu Changsheng was this stupid.
But then yet again, most people would've probably assumed that he was going to do something naughty given this time of day anyways.
"Haha, well do you want me to leave an escort behind so that you can get a ride back home?" Gu Changsheng offered.
"Nah no need, someone in there is going to give me a ride back home anyways, but thanks for the offer nevertheless."
"Anything for the great god of picking up girls, if you need anything else then just call me." Gu Changsheng walked back to his car.
"Oh and one more thing, make sure you teach me your ways of picking up beautiful girls whenever you have a chance." Gu Changsheng then hopped into the back of his car, closed the car door and then signaled his bodyguards to drive off.
After watching Gu Changsheng and his guards disappear off into the night, Ronald couldn't help but shake his head and then went back to focusing on refining the pill needed to cure Lin Minyi.
Then after he had finished making the pill and thoroughly examined the pill to make sure that he had refined the right one, Ronald took a good look at the facility that could be seen at a far distance, and couldn't help but sigh.
'And just when I thought that I can live peacefully in this life until I can go back to earth.'
