"What do you want, Li Wanruo?" Ronald nervously turned back around and said in a harsh voice while thinking how he was going to explain all of this to her.
He couldn't just bluntly tell Li Wanruo that he was incredibly strong even though she was most likely aware about it at this point.
Why?
Because as mentioned before, there's a bigger chance that Ye Fan will eventually find out about his strength if the more heroines know about it.
Of course, he should've just knocked out Lai Meiyun the moment she had regained consciousness again, but Ronald knew that it was already too late for him to continue hiding his strength from her.
'But how am I going to explain to Li Wanruo about the scene in front of me without revealing my strength?'
He could just truthfully explain everything that has happened so far while leaving out the part where he murdered Ling Feng and just put the blame on Grant and Ling Feng instead, but then he wouldn't be able to explain what had actually happened to Ling Feng then.
And besides, considering that Lai Meiyun had unfortunately witnessed everything, she would most likely testify against him as well!
'Think Ronald, think!'
'How the hell am I going to bullshit my way out of this situation?'
"I just heard that there were some disturbances in one the casino that I own, so I quickly came to check it out, but it looks like I don't have to worry about it." Li Wanruo waved at Ronald with a bright smile on her face and then walked over to Ronald without even once taking a look at Lai Meiyun at all.
"What? Aren't you actually worried about what had happened to everyone here?" Ronald subconsciously blurted out while being completely dumbfounded.
Was her love for him that intense to the point where she just didn't even care about all of the unconscious bodies laying on the floor at all?
Or was she already aware that Ronald was the one who had done this to begin with?
"I don't really care what had actually happened here, as long as you're okay, then that's all it matters." Li Wanruo scanned around the venue with an uninterested look on her face for a brief second and then turned her head back towards Ronald.
"Oh… okay." Ronald sighed with relief.
Even though Ronald didn't know if Li Wanruo was aware of his strength or not, as long as he doesn't have to explain to Li Wanruo about the entire situation, then there was perhaps still a chance that he could still continue to hide his strength from Li Wanruo.
And as for Lai Meiyun…
Well, it's not like he has some kind of mind erasing technique that he could use on Lai Meiyun, so all he could do is put a tracking device on her and try his best to make her stay silent whenever he has to interact with her and Ye Fan for the plot.
"So how are you doing my bel- Young Master Kuangge? You haven't answered any of my phone calls ever since you had given me your phone number, does it really hurt to pick up my calls once in a while?" Li Wanruo said in a slightly depressed tone.
"Yeah it does, you know that I have Luna in my heart already." Ronald replied back disdainfully.
"Come on Young Master Kuangge, what's the difference between me and her? I'm just as pretty as her, aren't I?" Li Wanruo curiously asked.
She wanted to see what Ronald found so interesting about Luna so she can perhaps mimic Ronald's ideal girl.
"You're like 7 years older than me, aren't you? How about you go hook up with guys similar to your age?" Ronald stated in a rude manner.
"That just means that I have more experiences than Luna." Li Wanruo winked at Ronald and responded coquettishly.
"Oh, so you're not a virgin then?" Ronald sneered.
"I am… but I'm just waiting for the day when my beloved come joins me in bed." Even though Li Wanruo tried to maintain a straight face, her face couldn't help but turn as red as a tomato just imagining the both of them 'having fun' in bed together.
"..." Seeing that Li Wanruo was completely red and was trying to avoid making eye contact with him, Ronald couldn't help but frown.
'Come on, do I really look that dense or something?'
'Clearly the beloved you're referring to is me.'
'And what the hell could you possibly be thinking in that perverted head of yours for you to be able to blush that hard?'
While Ronald was still complaining to himself in his heart however...
"Li Wanruo! What are you doing? He's the one who had caused all of this mess!" Lai Meiyun was completely dumbfounded.
One of her best friend who she had deeply admired and respected throughout all of these years didn't even bother to acknowledge her presence or any of the unconscious bodies laying on the floor, but instead started to act all lovey-dovey towards Ronald?
Did Li Wanruo not even care about her reputation at all?
"..." Li Wanruo slowly turned around and looked directly at Lai Meiyun with a slightly surprised look on her face after hearing what had Lai Meiyun shouted out.
The reason why she had ignored Lai Meiyun's presence when she had arrived to the second floor of the casino was because she thought that Lai Meiyun had regressed as well but tried to challenge Ronald to a fight and not give him any face in this life despite also falling in love with Ronald in the previous life.
But judging from what Lai Meiyun had yelled out however, it seemed like that wasn't the case at all.
Although she was slightly happy that Lai Meiyun hadn't regressed back at all since that would mean less competition, she was worried that Lai Meiyun would once again try and help Ye Fan out just like she had done in her last life.
But in her previous life, Li Wanruo had been the one to introduce Lai Meiyun to Ye Fan to begin with, so if she doesn't introduce Lai Meiyun to Ye Fan in this life, then Ye Fan shouldn't have a chance to grow.
So with that in mind, she decided to become friendly towards Lai Meiyun again just like they had been in their previous lives before Ronald's death.
Just as she was about to greet Lai Meiyun and make amends however, her face instantly frowned and couldn't help but look at Lai Meiyun in a hostile manner again.
Why?
Because the corpse that was right beside with Lai Meiyun was emitting an aura that felt extremely familiar to Ye Fan.
"Lai Meiyun." Li Wanruo said coldly.
"Y-yes?" Lai Meiyun saw the intense killing intent emitting out of her best friend's body and couldn't help but start to shiver up.
"Burn that corpse and completely cremate it, I don't want to see a single cell of that damn corpse left alive."
"B-but my Gran-" Lai Meiyun could completely stopped in the middle of her sentence after seeing that Li Wanruo's killing intent was raising.
Even though she didn't know why her friend was acting so harshly towards her, she had a feeling that she was going to die if she didn't obey now.
So she gritted her teeth, slowly dragged Ling Feng's body across the floor, and then silently left the casino, also leaving the Master Martial Artist she had brought along behind.
After Lai Meiyun had disappeared from her sights, Li Wanruo turned back around to look at Ronald.
"Do you want a ride back to the Gu family manor?" Li Wanruo smiled brightly and asked Ronald.
Although she knew that Ronald was going to reject her again just like he had did back over at the auction house, she wanted to try her luck again.
However, to her surprise...
"Fine, but let me go check up on someone really quickly." Ronald quickly grabbed a cup of water from the nearest table and then started to head downstairs to the first floor of the casino building.
The reason why he had taken up on Li Wanruo's offer was because he didn't actually go to the casino in a car to begin with, so it would look extremely suspicious in Li Wanruo's eyes if he had somehow made it back to the Gu family manor without driving back at all.
Of course, Ronald could've just taken a taxi back to the family manor, but since it was extremely late at night, most taxi services most likely wouldn't be available at this time.
"If that's what you want." Li Wanruo then followed behind Ronald with a joyful look on her face.
