The Beta joins my class

Bry's POV

"Hello."

At the sound of the familiar voice, I glanced up.

"Sky!" I grinned at the sight of the Beta.

It has been two days since the Betas joined us, but I've not seen him. He wasn't among the ones that joined my class.

"You seem excited to see me." He sat next to me. "How have you been?"

"Good." I nodded before I turned towards the long line of students who were waiting for their meals to be dished.

"You've not gotten lunch yet?" Sky asked.

"My roommate is getting it for us. He gets the lunch while I keep our table." I turned to Sky. "Why haven't you gotten lunch yet?"

"I ate enough during breakfast." He shrugged. "Lunch is no big deal to me."

"Oh."

No words were spoken between us after that. Sky glanced around the cafeteria while I watched him.

"I got enough meat for you—" Ray paused when he saw Sky. "Who's he?" He dropped the tray that contained our lunch on the table before he sat next to me.

"He's a Beta. His name is Sky." I introduced Sky who had turned the moment Ray made an appearance.

"Nice to meet you." Sky waved at him.

"I'm Ray. The pleasure is mine." Ray placed my food in front of me. "I got enough meat for you, today. Miss Pan was the one on duty."

"Thank you." I grinned at the sight of the meat.

"You are welcome." Ray mirrored the expression on my face.

"I gotta go." Sky stood from the chair he was sitting on. "I will see you around, Brys. Have a pleasant day."

"You too," I waved at him.

Ray glared at him until he left the cafeteria.

"Why are you staring at him? Won't you eat?" I furrowed my brow at him.

"How did you meet that Beta?" He turned towards me, with a raised brow.

"Is there anything wrong with him?" I took a bite of my delicious meat.

"He's okay. It's just that he seems odd."

"How?"

"I don't know. He just seemed odd." Ray took a bite of his bacon.

"Well, he's a Beta. Of course, he will seem different."

********

I hurried towards the dining room. Ray left long ago, but I stayed back to complete an assignment I procrastinated on for a long time.

Fan was no help at all. He kept on droning about what a bad host I was.

"Where are you rushing to?"

I stopped at the sound of the familiar voice.

Storm was leaning on the wall, not too far from me.

He was putting on a blue shirt instead of the black one he had on earlier. His black hair looked like something he ran his hand through, countless times.

"What do you want?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What do I want?" He started walking towards me. "Why, does it seem like I want something?" He closed the distance between us.

"I don't have your time."

I made to walk past him, but he held my arm.

"Where do you think you are heading to, Omega? I'm not through with you."

"But I am." I removed my hand from his. "I don't have time to spare with someone like you."

This time, when I left, he didn't stop me.

"See you later, Omega!" He called out.

*********

"Class, we have a new member joining our class." Miss Windy grinned.

She is a new Beta teacher who joined the school with Betas. And so far, she seemed to be the best teacher after Mrs Buttercup.

Though it's early for me to know if my judgement is true.

The door to our class opened, and Sky strode in like he owned the entire place.

"That's the Beta you were speaking with a week ago, right?" Ray nudged me.

"Of course." I nodded as I watched Ray, who had his entire focus on the teacher.

"Can you please introduce yourself to the class?" She beamed at him.

"Good Day, class." Sky turned towards the class. "I'm Sky, one of the Betas who joined the academy a week ago. Nice to meet you all."

He said in a polite tone.

All the girls in the class sighed as they watched him.

Pfft.

If not that Storm is an arsehole, Sky holds no candle to him when it comes to being handsome.

"Good. You can have a seat near..." Miss Windy glanced around the class.

"He can sit next to me." I pointed to the chair by my left, which hasn't been occupied.

The moment I said those words, Sky glanced up at me. His eyes locked with mine as a grin appeared on his face.

"What?" Ray nudged me. "Are you certain?" He whispered.

"Hmm." I nodded before I turned to look at Sky who has gone back to staring at the teacher.

"Okay, he can —"

"The front seemed like the best option, don't you think, miss?" One of the Alpha females in the class pointed to a seat next to her. "He can sit with me."

"No! The front isn't okay. He can sit with me!" The prettiest girl in class beamed as she pointed to the chair next to her.

And like that, all the girls who had a vacant seat next to them, all asked for him to come over.

"He's super popular among girls." Ray sighed. "Do you think I stand a chance against him?" He groaned as he leaned towards me.

"You never had a chance." I pursed my lips. "Alphas and Betas all top the chart. Few Alpha females go for Omegas like us."

"You are no help!" He huffed, displeased by my answer.

"I'm just telling you the fact," I shrugged.

"Thank you, everyone." Miss Windy beamed, "I never knew that you can be this hospitable."

"Oh, we all are, miss." An Omega female spoke up. "We are happy to be of help."

Hmm.

You are happy to be of help, or do you want to date the new Beta?

I pursed my lips as I watched all the females in the class as they tucked their hair behind their ears.

It was as obvious as the day that they all admire the new Beta in class.

"Thank you all. I think it's left to Mr Cross to choose the chair he wants to sit on for the term." Miss Windy turned to Sky. "Where do you wish to sit?"

"There."

Without wasting a moment, he pointed towards me. "I wish to sit with him since he was the first who offered a seat."

Everyone in the class turned to look at me. The murderous glares from the girls made it seem like I was about to be fried by just a look.

Goddess.

Why did I even offer him a seat?

It would have been better if I never said a word.

"Okay, you can sit next to Brys." Miss Windy pointed towards me.

"Thank you, teacher." Sky nodded at her before he started for my seat. "Thank you." He said the moment he sat next to me.

"It's no worry."
