Chapter 288 - Defeat

Qing Yan stood in the air as an invisible ground was below his feet. He looked down at his opponent with disgust and disappointment. 

The burning desire to make him excited went down the drain witnessing his enemy barely evade his attack.

This is what happened when the favor of the universe was severed from Luo Zheng. The whole Great Expanse Universe was father which is why he's safe even fighting someone stronger but now his true prowess is revealed.

In terms of overall battle prowess, they are evenly matched but Qing Yan did not have any 'Luck' or favor from his father, only his wits and own strength. 

"Show me your true strength! You've been playing on your father's playground far too much! This is the truth of power! The truth of the road you roam! It's either fight to live or die trying!"

He flared his aura even further while Luo Zheng understood the danger motivated by the reward, in the end, used his Nine Dao Star Pillar to increase his strength by multiple folds.

Qing Yan seeing this opted for a war god smile as the veil of darkness shrouded his whole body. The spectator gasped at the menacing most of the darkness that seemed to erode the space around it.

"Is this the Yin Divine Dao!?"

Xing Wei recognizes the top-ranking Divine Dao among the 3000 known Divine Dao in the God Domain. This is one of the hardest and terrifying Divine Dao to comprehend without gaining the Yang Divine Dao. 

Those who tried cultivating it ended up devoured by the darkness becoming mindless monsters. 

"No, that is only a normal Yin True essence(Qi)."

True Essence was an energy of every life form within a universe while creatures from the God Domain are made out of Primordial Chaos Qi which was the highest type of energy in the 3rd globe in this verse.

"A normal Yin true essence? To be this overbearing then this son of yours is quite the monster."

Caelum nodded in agreement and continued watching, seeing his sons dashed in tremendous speed while Luo Zheng did the same. 

They first collided, sending an immense shockwave that stopped by the barrier around them. 

Luo Zheng tried to use movement techniques that turn him into the cloud of dark smoke to evade his opponent's attack but unfortunately, Qing Yan cultivate the Dao of Yin letting him grasp his opponent 

He was pulled in by Qing Yan receiving a powerful punch to the face flinging him straight to the edge of the barrier spitting blood upon impact.

His opponent did not take pity and leaped, preparing an attack that Luo Zheng evaded grazing his cheek. He was fighting someone who had the prowess of Mid rank True God while he is only at most Low-rank True God.

Though there appear to be minor differences, yet the gap between them is large. 

Luo Zheng helplessly took a step back trying his best to stay conscious. He pushed himself and increased his strength further than before vanished from where he then appeared in front of Qing Yan with his fist into his face burying deep into his skull.

Qing Yan didn't expect the level of strength he displayed, shot him straight into the barrier that cracks for a brief moment before fixing itself.  

Luo Zheng sighed in relief seeing his opponent had been knocked out but felt horrified when he heard laughter.

"Hehehehe! I haven't seen anyone sent flying in a while now! This is far from over!"

In that movement flashes of brief image the only thing that the spectator saw when Qing Yan assaulted his opponent with unrelenting punches and kicks appearing at the other side where be flung!

The heavenly venerate hasn't seen anyone this ruthless in their life where he smiles while pummeling his opponent.

Luo Zheng barely held on to his consciousness and felt his internal organs and bone-cracking despite their immense durability.

"Enough this! Luo Zheng will die if this continues!"

Xing Wei exclaimed fearing for their last hope to fade away but Caelum remained indifferent to their shout.

"You lot be silent! This is Lup Zheng and my son's agreement, because of that we can't interfere."

"If you don't stop this I'll kill you!"

"You can try but I know you don't have the confidence to do so. Therefore just sit back and watch the battle unfold!"

He yelled out, causing everyone to be silent while turning back at the battle. It was all one-sided where Qing Yan grabbed Luo Zheng by the neck while opting for a menacing grin. 

"You're pathetic! How do you expect to fight for your father when you can't even defeat me? This is just how weak you are and everything is but an empty word."

In the end, Lup Zheng passed out from the injuries he sustained, shocking everyone. The barrier vanished as Qing Yan let go then wrapped Luo Zheng's arms around his shoulder. 

He carried him back to the compound where the others followed suit. They would accept that he was defeated when he was someone who defied logic.

"Dammit! Why did you need to go all out on him!?"

Urizen voices his complaint, unable to have his chance for a good fight. Those who heard him felt complicated wondering if it would be the same as Urizen the one who fought Luo Zheng.

"If I didn't then either of us would end up dead! The pain from that punch earlier still hadn't left my face."

"What!? You're kidding right!?"

"No, we're on equal footing with the only difference is that he is far too kind and seems to be confused when in battle."

Xing Wei felt slightly proud to hear that this young man did not take Luo Zheng lightly and took the fight seriously. Though it was too violent, he knew it would help Luo Zheng's future growth. 

"Wow! Then does that mean you lost?"

"Yeah yeah I was trying to hold back but this bastard is quite lucky."

He sounded disappointed in the bet but did not care and found an enjoyable fight. The Heavenly Venerate was about to call someone to heal Luo Zheng but Caelum stepped closer where he was lying.

"There is no need to call someone. I'll do it myself."

He pointed his index finger, tapping a few points in Luo Zheng's body, then placed his hand on top of Luo Zheng's chest. 

Normal Life Law would not be enough and use his medical knowledge to discern a few vital points then use Life and Death.

Circulating the primordial Chaos qi of Luo Cheng swirl through the points he taps before regaining consciousness and coughing golden blood with another black mucus mix to it.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Luo Zheng. How do you feel?"

Luo Zheng did not reply immediately trying to recall what happened before recalling everything and felt disappointed.

"I lost, didn't I?"

He clenched his fist in anger that this is the result of his training in the Forbidden Refining Land which is a world made by a saint named Turtle Dove Saint who was an ally of his father.

Caelum chuckled seeing his reaction knowing that after continuously succeeding in a fight that he forgot what failure was.

"Yes but actually no."

Luo Zheng heard his answer was confused. It was clear that he was defeated in a one-sided battle.

"What do you mean?"

"You lost the fight but won in the bet. My son went all out fighting you which he considered a loss."

Luo Zheng felt conflicted about whether he was taking pity on him or not. He was only frozen disheartened from his defeat.

"Don't think this out of pity! I respect the strong and you made my blood boil from that attack! Make sure to be stronger then we will have a rematch."

Qing Yan clarified his confusion that slightly lifted his dismay. It was the truth as all he had fought we're far too weak that they had not given him much pain, unlike Luo Zheng.

"I understand but next I'll make sure you defeat you!"

"That's what I like! You'll be my rival from now on!"

"Uhmmm but alright."

"Sorry interrupt but Luo Zheng since you've technically won I'll help heal Xun right now."

"Oh alright."

Luo Zheng stood up from where he was while Xing Wei discerned that he had grown slightly stronger than before. The reason was Caelum had slightly helped his body bring out its potential while recording everything from his memory.

It was difficult to acquire some of his memory and technique as the Emperor Seal that he cultivated helped prevent Caelum from entering too deep. 

Regardless, he acquired what he was looking for which was the Primordial Chaos Qi Technique along with the Emperor Seal. 

Unfortunately, the Divine Dao he cultivated was deep within his soul and too difficult to reach out affecting him. Caelum decided to ask him to show the Divine Dao.

He recalled that Luo Zheng had Emotion Severing Divine Dao and Demon Ice Flames Divine Dao.
