End of the tower

I looked at the surroundings. Pillars held up the hall and perfectly framed the final boss of the Tower of Beginnings which was on slightly raised platform. Unlike the other floors this floor had color.

Even the boss floors, which were not just stone rooms, were completely white. This floor however had colors, the pillars and walls were gray the carpet that led to the boss was crimson. And as for the boss they weren't made of stone like the other bosses but looked completely organic.

[Floor 100 of the Tower of Beginnings has been reached. You will now face the final challenge before this instance reaches its conclusion.]

[The knight who lost his faith, Adam, is ready for your challenge. Approach him and prepare for combat.]

That was strange. Up until now the bosses name wouldn't be revealed till after I defeated them. However in this case along with his title I got his name.

"Knight who lost his faith huh?" I whispered the title for no reason. Summoning all the equipment I would need for battle I approached him. I had a plan and that was to deal with him like I did everything else in the tower. I would play dirty and exploit my powers.

When I was halfway to Adam the system notified me of something which caused me to change plans. No I had to change plans.

[As the final challenge of the Tower of Beginnings, Adam will test you skills. Though it is fine to exploit everything the system wishes for you to learn how to fight fairly in the future.]

[The system will now asks: "How will you fight?"]

A list of armaments appeared on the screen. Swords, armor, shields, and hell even throwing knives were available. All the equipment I had summoned had disappeared and I couldn't activate my gift.

The system was acting different the usual causing me to raise a brow. I of course wanted to fight like I usually did but the system didn't allow me to do so. I had never heard of a system blocking the users power which made me realize my system was a special case compared to those of others.

I looked at the list and then at Adam, the one I would have to defeat. I couldn't get a good grasp on how he fought as he stayed in a single spot looking down while kneeling. He was turned away from me to and the most I could get was he wielded a sword. I considered how other bosses fought and they all usually had a wild attack pattern with only a few being more sophisticated in there pattern.

How would I fight depends on how I thought he would fight. Considering the systems messages I decided I would believe his style to be sophisticated.

I then chose my equipment to summon from the list the system provided.

I chose the weapons easiest for me to wield those being the sword and shield. I had used other weapons before but these were the ones I was most comfortable with. At this time I began to regret my choice of class.

I would have an easier time if I went with Warrior but, not only was the skill I got from Noble useful but I felt a certain attraction to it even if I didn't acknowledge it at the time. Well it's to late to change classes.

Now I stood in front of the last boss for the Tower of Beginnings. I was going to launch an ambush on it but was surprised by a sudden voice.

"Welcome to the tower's end. Tell me do you believe in god?"

The voice was dark and had a sort of metallic feel.

"God?" I asked confused.

The faithless knight began to stand up and pointed his blade towards me.

"Do you believe or not?"

The tone of the metallic voice grew menacing and heavy, however I didn't know how to answer. Sure churches for gods existed but I never really had a god I prayed to. However all churches usually had people who had systems based around worshipping the gods.

Also the system had mentioned the gods while choosing my class but again I never really believed in gods.

"I don't know." I shook my head.

The faithless knight let out a eerie noise and then began to attack.

I dodged his thrust and swung my blade. He didn't dodge and took the blow however my blade only made a small scratch upon his armor. Damn it.

I disengaged from him and activated my skill.

[You have activated the beginner level skill 'Situation Analysis' at the cost of mental energy.]

Time slowed and I began to form a plan. I ran forward while maintaining the skill and aimed a thrust at the head that was completely unarmored. He leaned back and dodged while aiming an attack towards me.

From what I could see he wasn't the wild type of attacker and I got an easier read with the help of my skill. As the attack got closer I used the plan I came up with and let go of my sword. Along with the momentum I had charged the blade with mana and it barreled towards Adam.

He looked surprised as the sword made a gash on the side of his head taking one ear. I controlled the sword and brought it back as we both backed off from each other.

"I wasn't expecting for such a move." Adam charged towards me with those words as blood poured from the side of his head.

We continued the battle for quite some time. I took some hits but I finally managed to land a killing blow.

[You have slain the Tower's final opponent. You have received experience and become level 20.]

[The limit's of your Gift are released along with it leveling up by multiple levels.]

[As a bonus if completing the tower your basic stats have been modified in preparation for trails a head.]

I saw the door to leave the tower appear and I walked forward towards it.

Last week I wasn’t home.
