Job Transfer

After Will and Adrian followed the back of Tuluin they came to a big room where at the end of the room there was a stage where two middle-aged people stood side by side talking to each other.

Will looked at the stage and recognized the man on the left side as he was the principal of their academy, however, he failed to recognize the man standing next to the principal.

After everyone from class 3-B came inside and stood respectfully in front of the stage, it seems as if the principal thought now was the time, he came to the middle and looked at everyone standing below him with a slight smile.

"Good afternoon everyone, I believe everyone has already recognized me, however, it is still part of my duty that I formally introduce myself to everyone again. I am Bernard Welback, the principal of the Rimewood Academy which also happens to be the only academy in our small town, Rimewood."

After a short silence, the principal continued, "Today our academy has welcomed Mr. Stewart for your job transfer ceremony as he is a rare rank 3 Awakener."

After everyone heard that the unknown man was a rank 3 awakener, everyone was very surprised because for reference rank 3 is already the highest rank that this town has and there are only two people in this town with that rank, the mayor and the principal standing in front of us.

However, the real surprise does not come just from the rank of that man but also from his job awakener as anyone who awakens that job automatically gains a noble status in people's hears as even though the awakener is not a combat class but it is a special class as it is a rare job which helps other awaken their jobs after they had come to the age of 18.

According to Will's memories, he realized there are 5 types of job classes which are, combat, support, lifestyle, and unique

The combat job class has a higher status than the other job classes because they are the main fighting force against the dungeons and the wile monsters that infest this world.

However, that does not mean the other job classes are treated with a bad attitude because every job has a meaning a reason behind it be it the healer job from the support class that allows them to heal injuries or the farmer job from the lifestyle class that brings vegetable to your plate, however there are two exceptions to this.

The special class and the unique class are two exceptions where someone might get a useless job.

Even though they have a very nice tone to them, they totally depend on which job you transfer to exactly for example someone could become a shadow swordsman from the special class and have a high status in society but someone could also awaken the dream interpreter job from the special class even though it might sound good however, this job class involves interpreting dreams and deciphering their symbolic meanings. While it may have cultural and psychological significance, it does not have tangible benefits in the practical world.

Before Will realized the principal's speech was coming to an end.

"Alright everyone, enough has been said and now it is time to initiate the job transfer ceremony don't forget that even if you do not transfer to the job that you had wanted to please do not get discouraged as every job has equal status and a reason behind them."

Though the principal spoke of equal status for all jobs, the students knew better than to place blind trust in those words.

After the principal was done giving his speech, old man Tuluin walked to the stage with a notebook and announced that he will be calling out everyone's names alphabetically and once someone's name is called out they will walk to the stage and stand in front of Mr. Stewart and do as they are told and once they have transferred to their jobs they have a chance to either leave directly or stay in the room.

"Adrian" called out Tuluin

Adrian looked at me with an unsecured yet excited look and whispered, "Why did my parents have to give me a name that started with an A". After sighing he got up and before he left for the stage he whispered in a tone that only I could hear "You better wish me luck".

Hearing him say that I realized how sweaty my palms were from the nervousness. Disregarding my nervousness I looked at Adrian's back and murmured yeah I hope we both can get good jobs.

Adrian walked to the stage and stood in front of Mr. Stewart and put his hand on the orb that Mr. Stewart held in his hands.

Right after Adrian put his hands on the orb, Mr. Stewart closed his eyes and started mumbling something that I couldn't understand as he was speaking the language of magic also known as the language of arcana.

According to what I have learned from my memories of this language, very few people currently exist that can understand the language of magic and by understanding it, they only know the meaning of very few words.

From what I have learned long ago in history there were people who could fluently use this language as if it was their mother tongue however now it seems only the races such as the dragons and elves have some understanding of the language of magic.

After mumbling for 5 seconds almost blinding bright blue light appeared from the orb after the light disappeared, Mr. Stewart opened his eyes and lightly announced, "Congratulations Adrian, you have transferred to a special job class, a gravity mage."

Everyone audibly gasped upon hearing that Adrian had become a gravity mage, a job known for its exceptional area-of-effect control and damage

Adrian looked extremely excited as he glanced back at Will, sporting a smirk. Will could only offer him a helpless smile in response to his friend's antics.

"Alright Adrian go down, and Alex you are next" announced Tuluin.

After Adrian came back he gave me a look as if asking to be worshipped however I just ignored him in case I couldn't stop myself from giving a kick to his butt.

As time passed, more students were called up. Most awakened lifestyle jobs such as blacksmith, farmer, and bard. Five individuals transferred to the support class, with three becoming tanks and two becoming healers. Three students joined the combat class, two as warriors and one as a fire mage.

However, the biggest surprise came when a quiet and unassuming girl named Serene Blair, from their class, awakened a special class job similar to Adrian's. Rather than a combat-related job, she transferred to a lifestyle-related special job as an Enchanter
