Chapter 2: Yuki/Yuta

***(Some information I use for descriptions of Pokémon and their other factors. I pulled from a website called Bulbapedia. Thanks for reading and enjoy!)***

Once I snapped out of my initial shock at the game I remembered that I needed to message Takashi.

"Yu, how do I open the menu?" I asked.

"Just simply swipe horizontally in front of you with your pointer finger and middle finger." She chimed from what felt like inside my head.

I did as instructed and the menu appeared in front of me. Giving me access to your expected tabs like settings, inventory, party, friends list and things like that. While also showing tabs that I wasn't expecting for a Pokémon game. Those three being Player Stats, Skills, and Party's of Interest.

Party's of Interest peaked my interest the most so I clicked on it. Showing me pictures of the Most Wanted Player which was currently empty. Rogue Pokémon which showed a picture of what I would assume as a shiny Mega Tyranitar. I say assume because this shiny makes Tyranitar grayish black with black accents and a green stomach. Which is far cooler in my opinion. There was so much more to the tab but I would end up spending hours going through it.

I closed out of that tab and opened up the Friend List.

"Who would you like to send a friend request to?" Yu asked which almost made me jump.

Well he did say that he was going to use the same name as always.

"Send a friend request to Biggus Dickus." I said reluctantly.

"No." Yu responded.

"W-what? Yu send the friend request please." I said again.

"Why, isn't there anyone else with a better user name I could send a friend request to?" Yu asked in response.

The only thing that could possibly rival my shock of having this high level of an interaction with an AI is my level of understanding towards her. Because trust me it hurts having to verbally submit a friend request when his name is this dumb.

"Yu, I understand what you're saying. But this is my friend that I've known for years. Could you please submit the friend request?" I asked practically begging.

Yu let out a sigh before responding. "Fine."

A pop up saying *FRIEND REQUEST SENT* was shown and in a matter of seconds he appears in my friends list.

"Your 'friend' is trying to call you on your Xtransceiver. Would you like me to let his call come through?" Yu asked.

I haven't even been in this game for more than ten minutes and I'm already being judged. Almost feels like I'm playing this game with my sister of all people.

"Yes please." I said right before I started to hear ringing.

I brought the Xtransceiver that was on my left wrist closer to my face. Before I started to interact with it to accept the call.

"Where are you!" Takashi asked but came across more so as a yell.

I looked around as the other players and even some Pokémon stopped to stare at me. All I could really do in response was to give them an apologetic smile.

"I think Route 1 in the Unova Region." I responded.

Once those words had fully left my mouth he hung up the call.

"Yuta!!!!" I heard someone shout from behind me.

I turned around and saw Takashi's avatar running up to me.

Takashi has a signature character combo whenever playing a game. His username/character name will ALWAYS be Biggus Dickus. Then he will create his character to look almost perfectly like his favorite Idol Mori. The only change he makes to "throw people off" is he changes the hair color to white.

"Why do you do this to me man?" I asked disappointed to see nothing has changed.

"Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, asshole. Anyway we should start our journey as trainers the old fashion way with a rival battle." He said with his character's female voice. He was bursting with excitement has he pointed his Poké Ball at me.

"Not a chance. You've definitely been training your Pokémon already." I responded turning my back to him.

"Trust me, I've been waiting for you this entire time. I haven't anyone or done any training. The only Mon I have is my starter so lets do this the right way." He said trying to convince me.

If he isn't lying a battle would be nice if I'm going to be completely honest. On top of that I'm curious to see how the battling mechanics work here.

"Fine. But if you lie to me about your starter's level I'll block you." I said turning back around to face him. This time with a Poké Ball in my hand.

"It's a deal. Litten I choose you." He shouts as he throws his Poké Ball.

What is this, the anime? Like stop roleplaying.

Litten pops out of the Poké Ball onto the ground in front of us. Sat down grooming itself without a care for what we're doing.

"Here is some information on Litten for you. Litten is a quadrupedal, feline Pokémon covered with primarily black fur. It has a short muzzle with a tiny, black nose, red eyes with yellow sclerae, and short, pointed ears with pale gray insides. There are two red stripes around each of its legs and two horizontal stripes with a vertical stripe across them on its forehead. The lower part of Litten's face is also red, and there is a large tuft of fur on each cheek. A tuft of fur sits at the end of its long tail. When it arches its back, three pointed tufts of fur with red tips appear along its spine." Yu explained, almost as if she was reading it word for word from the internet.

"Yeah, I can see that Yu I have eyes." I responded.

"You're supposed to say 'thank you Yu for doing such a good job'." She said.

Honestly when she interacts with me like this I almost forget that she's an AI. Her reactions feel a little too human sometimes and unnecessary.

I toss my Poké Ball out in front of me and Turtwig pops out.

"Here is some information on Turtwig for you. Turtwig is a small, light green, quadrupedal Pokémon resembling a turtle or tortoise. Its eyes, feet, and lower jaw are yellow. Its body is covered by a brown shell that is composed of earth. The shell has a thick black stripe and a black rim. On a very healthy Turtwig, the shell should feel moist. A small seedling grows on a brown patch on its head. This seedling will wilt if the Pokémon becomes thirsty. Since it is a plant-based Pokémon, Turtwig usually nourishes itself through photosynthesis; it becomes more energetic when exposed to enough sunlight. It also drinks water, which hardens its soil-based shell. Due to its status as a starter Pokémon, a wild Turtwig is hard to come by and it is generally found under the ownership of Trainers." She said still sounding like she reading it off of somewhere.

At least this time there was some more information on him than what I could tell just from looking at it.

"Thank you Yu for doing such a good job." I said sounding very monotone.

"Dude, are you just going to talk to yourself the whole time or are we going to battle?" Takashi asked.

"I mean do we even have to? Your Litten already knows ember so he has a super-effective move on me. Turtwig doesn't even learn absorb until level nine." I explained trying to get myself out of this.

"Bro. You really are a nerd." Takashi responded with a disappointed look on his face.

And to only make matters even more annoying his Litten was giving me the same look. Why would you even program something like that into a game?

"Fine, lets just get this over with and move on." I responded.
