Killer of Killers - Part 1

I guess when you're young there's always a defined line between right and wrong; between good and bad. But as you grow up those lines blur further and further until you can't see them anymore. The storybooks prepare you for nothing and end up what they were meant to be, fiction; entertaining the wildest imaginations into believing that the real world is all kittens and rainbows. When in reality there are no superhero's or miracles there's just villains and luck.

I would introduce myself and tell you my name but that would just give away all of my secrets, so for right now call me jo. When I was younger I told everyone I wanted to grow up and become a princess, just like all the other 5 year old girls did. I wished for it to come true, for every birthday, every Christmas, every dandelion I ever blew out and every 11:11 on the clock. I used up all my wishes to become a princess, and I never became one.

My childhood was pretty good up until I was about 12 my parents were brutally murdered in our home. The murderer broke in to rob us, my parents heard and went downstairs to see what was going on. They caught the robber and in a moment of panic the robber shot them and then fled. Two months later he was found and convicted guilty of 2 murders in the first degree. My parents were all I had, no brothers or sisters. Ny parents were also only children so I had no aunts or uncles. My mother's parents died in a car crash when she was a teenager and my dad was an orphan. So I was all alone, utterly alone.

I went in and out of foster homes, orphanages, basically anywhere cps could put me. When I was in my last foster home my foster sister, Vicky became my best friend. When they had to give me back to the orphanage it was devastating. Luckily we got each other's numbers and stayed best friends over the years. When I was 14 I started taking tae kwon do with Vicky. It was my only hobby and I was really good at it. I got all the way up to advanced classes by the second year of training. Though Vicky was always better than me she went all the way up to advanced training by the end of her first year. When I turned 18 and I found myself an apartment and a job at a tae kwon do studio down the street as an instructor. Vicky want me to go to college but I didn't have enough savings and I didn't know what I wanted to do yet so I didn't go to college with her. But we only live two blocks away from each other.

It was the same as every evening, I had just gotten off of work at around 6 so I got home around 6:15. I went to go open the freezer to get one of my TV dinners when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. My bedroom door was slightly ajar not like how I had left it. I grabbed a kitchen knife and kicked the door open. There he was waiting for me to come in so he could kill me. I had no idea who this man was all I knew is he wanted to kill me. So catching him off guard, I ran towards him plunging the knife through his chest hoping I hit a lung or his heart. I pulled the knife out and he fell to the ground, a few minutes later I checked if he was breathing and he wasn't. That feeling rushed through me, the thrill of adrenaline, high off power, I had just killed a killer.
