Chapter 4

It a few days now and the funeral arrangements were being made, Luciana was getting better with Trevor by his side who made sure she was well taken care of and that she would at least have a smile on her face every day. Early that morning while the two had breakfast Luciana received a call from work after the call she seemed very upset.

"What is wrong," Trevor asked her when he noticed her change of mood.

"It was Rene calling to fire me again, for not reporting to work," she said in frustration "what will I do with my life now"

"How could she, they know you lost your mother"

"She definitely hates me," she said and pushed away her meal, and walked to her room. Trevor was all ready to report for work and he went by her room before leaving.

Trevor walked into work very furious and did not even do his work he went directly to Rene's office who was looking into some work but turned to him with a smile when he walked in.

"How may I help you Trevor?" she asked sitting upright and adjusting her white blouse.

"Something very simple, I want you to hire back Luciana," he said bravely looking at her and she smiled even more like it was something amusing to her.

"What do you see in that girl? That you can risk your job coming to ask such demands"

"You fired her wrongly; she lost her mother"

"I know, but it seems you want her back so bad. But I have an offer for you if you want me to hire her back" she said walking to where he was and she sat just in front of him at her office table. She pulled him closer to her and looked at him with so much lust.

"I want you, all you have to do is be with me, and I may even consider giving you a raise. You are such a hot boy for such low pay" she said pulling him closer to kiss him but he retreated back.

"That is sexual assault miss Rene! And I demand you get her job back or else you lose yours!" he said and to her firmly and she laughed at him with so much boldness to think that he could threaten her.

"You have no evidence and you are such a fool for rejecting someone as hot as me"

"I don't need evidence just a text away," he said and took out his phone to text someone, Miss Rene was waiting for him to play a recording of what she had told him but he instead texted someone and turned to look at her with a smile in his face like he had won.

"What did you do?"

"You will know in a few seconds," he said and the phone at her office rang, she picked it up strangely looking at him. The call was very brief and she was being fired for the company no longer needed her, she was asked to leave by the end of the day and she will be paid her money due tomorrow.

She turned angrily and shocked at Trevor who was looking at her with so much confidence.

"Who are you?" she asked trying to understand how the management called her within a few seconds to fire her even without consulting.

"You will soon know, now make sure you leave by today. Someone else has already been selected for your office" he said and walked out not answering any of her questions.

The funeral was ready in a few days, and Luciana was ready to lay her mother to rest. So many people showed up for the funeral some she knew some she had never seen, it was always rumored that her father would be the end of her mother and they all came to attest that it is indeed true her mother had died in the name of love.

Trevor was by her side consoling her, he had now become everything to her for he was there with her through every minute of it.

"I don't know what I would have done if you had not been by my side," she said to him as some people lowered her mother's body. It was then that Trevor noticed his mother standing in an opposite direction looking at him. He excused himself and went over to where she was but they moved to a more private place where no one could easily see them.

"What are you doing here mother?" he asked her annoyed.

"Is that a way to greet your dear old mother, Trevor?" She said in a harsh tone to him and he humbly greeted her but was still upset that she was there.

"I am here for you, my baby. Mummy misses you. "She said holding his hand. "Besides we had a deal I do you a favor and you get back to your positions"

"Yes, and I have but am not coming home anytime sooner"

"Why this whatever you called it is over, everything is calm now. What is keeping you here son? I know who you are and it can't be that a woman is making you stay here" she asked very annoyed and it was then that Luciana walked unto them. Trevor got nervous since he had hardly talked to her about his mother with her.

"Sorry to interrupt but I need you for a minute if it's okay" Luciana requested humbly and noted the resemblance between the fancy lady standing there with her cute boyfriend.

"Sure, I will be there" he responded but his mother interrupted him.

"won't you introduce me, son, to this lovely lady," she said and Luciana was a bit surprised that his mother had come to the funeral and he hadn't even mentioned it to her earlier. He made a brief introduction to her and his mother as well.

"So, this is why you are not coming…."

"We will talk later mother; I have to go," he said and ignored any of her mother's claims he did not want her to go on speaking because he knew he was going to make everything worse.

"mother always gets what she wants, and you have left me with no option but the worst," she said to herself and put on her glasses before she walked to her car.
