Memory of Battle

Kang-Joon moved his hands beside him and pushed himself upwards as he rose on his feet. He looked around the room as he leaned towards the wall.

Kang-Joon's eyes widened as he looked at the bodies of the goblins that he relentlessly killed.

*How was that easy difficulty.*

Out of nowhere, a portal materialized from thin air, it's ethereal blue glow shone upon the room, showing the green blood that stained the walls and Kang-Joon's clothes as he stood up straight.

Kang-Joon's gaze directed itself towards the portal, a smile appeared on his lips as he walked towards the portal.

"Hah, I should go get some rest."

The portal absorbed Kang-Joon's body as he walked through it, leaving behind silence in the labyrinth as Kang-Joon vanished into thin air.

Whoosh!

Moments later, Kang-Joon emerged from the portal, finding himself back in the grey room.

"I'm back."

A green glow blossomed within Kang-Joon's body. His eyes widened as he looked down towards his body

"The blood stains… they're disappearing."

Out of nowhere, the ground began to tremble, Kang-Joon's eyes gazed at the portal in the middle of the room.

The portal vanished into thin air as a smile played on Kang-Joon's lips. Kang-Joon turned his head around towards the bed as he began to walk towards it.

Thud…

"Alright, it's time to rest."

Kang-Joon dropped his head onto the pillow as he laid down on the bed, closing his eyes. 

Yawn…

*This... what is this?*

Kang-Joon's eyes widened, he turned his head around and gazed at his surroundings. The sky, crimson red, dawned over the entire world. A wasteland was all that remained. Kang-Joon looked infront of him and turned his head up.

*This...isn't this a cathedral..?*

Kang-Joon stood in the presence of a massive cathedral that stood on flat ground. It's appearance shocked Kang-Joon to his bones.

"Pride, Sloth, Wrath, Lust, Envy, show yourselves."

Kang-Joon tilted his head as confusion washed over him. He turned his head left and right as he narrowed his eyes.

*Who said that?*

KKUUGHH!

Kang-Joon's eyes widened, he grit his teeth as he grunted in pain. Kang-Joon fell on one of his knees as his whole body began to tremble.

*Shit! What the fuck is that?!"

Kang-Joon looked towards the entrance of the cathedral. Five human like figures stood tall as they faced towards Kang-Joon.

*Are they the five sins Mammon mentioned about?!*

All of the sudden, the five figures started to slowly march towards Kang-Joon. His eyes widened as sweat drenched Kang-Joon's clothes.

*Is this where I die?*

The five human-like figures movements abruptly ceased infront of Kang-Joon. He attempted to get a glance at their faces as he looked up.

KKAGGHH!

Blood splat from Kang-Joon's mouth as his head was forced to drop down.

"What do you want with us, Mammon, or should I say, traitor?"

All of the sudden Kang-Joon's eyes widened. Thoughts appeared on his mind one by one as he continued to kneel down infront of the five figures.

*Mammon? Traitor? Wait, are they even talking to me?"

Kang-Joon turned his head against the pressure emitted from the figures as hard as he could. He took a small glance at what was behind him.

Kang-Joon's eyes narrowed, a figure covered in dark veil stood up straight infront of the five figures. All of the sudden, a sudden burst of laugh appeared from the figure.

"Haha! Do you guys really think that the five of you can stand up against me? I was stronger then, and now that I've consumed Beelzebub's power, what do you think the result will be if you were to go against me?"

GRRAAHHH!

All of the sudden, a gust of wind pushed Kang-Joon away. Kang-Joon extended his legs, stopping his impact. He looked up and caught a gaze at one of the figures that charged towards Mammon."

*Holy shit, I got pushed back this far just from a single clash?!*

Kang-Joon stood there, in fear, his fingers shaking from the devastating impact of the fight.

*How did I even get here.*

Bang!

Bang!

All of the sudden, the sky started to roar as thunderbolts dropped down from the sky like an atomic bomb. Kang-Joon's eyes widened, his mouth fell open as he watched the scenery of battle.

Suddenly, the thunderbolts began to move as if it was a guided missile.

*Th-that's following Mammon?*

Mammon quickly stopped as the point of the multiple thunderbolts drew closer to him. He raised his arms and faced his palms towards the thunderbolt.

Mammon continuously opened and closed his lips as the five figures suddenly appeared infront of him. All of the sudden, an intense bright green light spread it's way all over the area, blinding Kang-Joon's eyes.

Shing....

Another gust of wind knocked Kang-Joon away as his eyes temporarily lost it's vision.

*Shit! What the fuck happened?!*

All of the sudden, Kang-Joon opened his eyes and his body suddenly got up.

"What the hell was that."

Kang-Joon looked around his surroundings, his eyes widened as confusion washed over him.

"I'm back at the rest room? Wait, how about the fight? What the hell happened?"

Kang-Joon got up the bed and rose on his feet. He walked back and forth throughout the room as he contemplated about what he had just experienced.

"Was that a dream? No, it felt way too real to be one. But if it isn't how am I still back here? Why did I see Mammon and the other five sins fighting?"

All of the sudden, the system window materialized itself infront of Kang-Joon, casting it's dark glow.

Kang-Joon's eyes widened, a sense of disbelief and confusion mixed inside him.

"Wait, how long was I asleep for? Hold on, was I even asleep?"

Kang-Joon let out a deep breath. He raised his finger towards the system panel and closed it.

"Hah... I can't waste my time thinking about that any longer. What's more important now is clearing the second floor. System Window, status."

The system window orchestrated itself infront of Kang-Joon once again, casting it's usual dark glow.
