37 Recalculating Rewards

The next day Mark was present in the Meeting hall facing the shocked members of the Entourage from Marienberg including the wizard. They never thought that everything they did was manipulated by someone in the shadows. If they did not see the vampire attacking Mark as well as him providing evidence that she was a vampire then they would have a hard time believing it.

"I see, so that's the reason some famous beauties were able to maintain their youthful appearance. Then that would mean even the Empire in infiltrated by these Vampires?" The wizard asked as he looked subtly at the third young master who seemed distracted. That subtle look was not unnoticed by Mark and that made him speculate things that could explain why this idiot was sent here.

"Your Empire in where the Vampires had infiltrated the most, how else do you think they get so many undead thralls right now if not for the war that they were manipulating in the dark themselves?" Mark said this with no basis at all but it was still beneficial to put the blame of the war on the vampires which they might have likely indeed started.

"I see, but why have I not seen such signs at all? Is it really that bad already?" the wizard mumbled by himself as he thought of the consequences of such information being known to the various powers. Mark saw the reactions of the other guards as well as that they were looking subtly at the third son of their lord, he smiled and said.

"From what I can see there is a beauty by the side of this idiot, which most likely he got through force but somehow let the spy inside is that it?" he saw the men in front of him flinch as he seemed to get the jackpot immediately but none of them answered so he continued.

"And now that girl is your favorite and listens to her praising you like you are some great man or something? How predictable hahaha…" Mark laughed as he saw the faces of the people in front of him as well as the angry face of the third son.

"Y-you shut up!! You will regret what you just said!! Why should we believe you are telling the truth? Maybe you are just lying to make more chaos in our place?" the guy tried to defend his favorite concubine but he sounded unsure as Mark hit all the right points in his speculation.

"Don't believe me then, I'm not the idiot trying to defend a spy after all so it doesn't matter to me if you even take action." Mark didn't spend more time to these idiots here that was led by the bigger idiot. He went outside to meet with old Hans as he wanted to talk about the security of this place. He knew they could not stop all of the threats coming from outside but it was better to improve the way the people live here.

Meanwhile as he thought of how the time limit of his quest has only a few days left to finish it and he still has no idea how to finish it without using the enhancement serum. He was greedy as he wanted to use anything possible so he could succeed in the mission without using outside items to improve himself.

He knew he could reach that level eventually if he worked hard enough but time doesn't seem to agree for him. Reaching +C-Class is something achievable as it was equivalent to being able to fight a super soldier like Captain America. But you don't need a body similar to a super soldier to fight Captain America which was proven by task master.

But even if Mark was an expert in Martial Arts, he knew it was far from equal to even the deadliest assassins in DC and Marvel. Mark sighed as he realized he was in a similar situation to that manhwa where a guy gets to become a city lord in another world. But that guy was able to travel back and forth so he was able to gain money and develop quickly while surrounded by beauties like beast women.

Mark looked at the village inside his Backyard and sighed as to why the Beastwomen of Warhammer look like burly women with goat and deer heads. There was nothing beautiful about that at all. He gritted his teeth in indignation but at least the women in this world are quite beautiful. Mark felt that he was quite harsh to that Vampire but curiosity won in his head.

Thus the woman was quite traumatized, but Mark felt it was better than torturing her outright as he needed something like a trauma to replace the deep seated fear she has towards the woman who created her. Mark was gradually hypnotizing her into losing her fear of Neferata then he would be able to get the chance of obtaining the information held by this vampire.

Sure he was raised as a third generation dandy and was quite a villainous Young master before but he has bottom-lines he does not want to cross. Yet killing is fine for him, raised in a cut-throat environment does that to people. Mark reached the shop thinking that he might have forgotten something which made him remember that gift pack left by the nice old Guy.

"Well let's see the welcoming gift pack then." Mark opened his system but was greeted by various notices that alarmed him as all it said was.

Mark felt that he might have forgotten to check on his system as he muted the notifications to focus on making his quest succeed. He realized that maybe his actions have made various powers aware of changes in the world but was prevented in seeing him due to this skill.

"Huh?" Mark stared at the sudden prompt which made him think fast and went to open the doors of Marvel. He looked outside and was greeted by the familiar streets of Harlem. He went to get the newspaper in the mailbox and looked at it, there was nothing much that changed in the world at all. Mark was confused as he walked back in the Shop thinking of what had just happened.

But he shook his head and rolled the Random Beast Roll so he could get the minions already. He just didn't have much hope in this Roll as it was said that only beast would come out. But it was a welcome one as it would help his Backyard gain more percentage in his mission.

Mark did not pay attention to the fish part as they were just the common fishes except for some medium sized breed of sharks. He can see there are predators here so he would just release the docile herbivores for now to populate then release the others so the Back yard would be full of life. He was not sure how the Universal plot change affected his plans but since it was a gift then it might help him out later on.

He took out the other gift which was a watch but as soon as he took it out his eyes popped out of his head at the shock. Just the green and black theme with a hourglass sign in it made his heart beat in a rapid manner realizing what it was but before he could think much a note appeared in front of him drawing his attention. He read the first part and paused as he realized it was addressed to him.

The critters were just a bonus as it was excess energy anyways but the main part is the watch and yes as you guessed it is what you think it is.

But before you get excited I must tell you that it is only limited to ten aliens which I chose, I can't give you that X guy cause one bozo was already making a mess in one of Alternate Mutliverses I own. But I did give ten extra slots which you can choose which alien to record, this is the only permanent thing I can give you but I know the plot changes I made is equivalent to that protective thingamabob my neighbor gave you.

Mark read the last part but what bothered him was the unreadable part of the message. He just shook his head and forgot about it as he looked at the watch in his hand which soon started to glow and released a blinding flash. Mark was not able to react at all but he felt a new heavy feeling in his hands as he started to regain his vision.

"Hehe." Mark chuckled as he felt the watch in his hand and imagined a more streamline form which instantly adhered to his wishes." Damn, to think would have an Omnitrix of my own. Though just a discount version it is still formidable in itself."
