Total Drama: The Hunter

A story in which a new character is added to the Total Drama cast. Aoife Jackson was just your everyday ordinary high schooler; not too popular but also not an outcast. Upon learning of the release of the game show Total Drama Island, he and his friends all decided to apply, not truly expecting much. Aoife was quite surprised to see the letter in his mail, expecting the accepted applicants to be people far more interesting than himself. Follow along as we discover more about Aoife and his mysterious past, as well as his interesting future. I chose to write this story as I’ve noticed there aren’t a ton of interesting TDI fanfics, so decided to take matters into my own hands.

Bridgette's Change

~~Bridgette POV~~

Sitting in a corner of a small hut wasn't exactly what Bridgette had planned when she signed up for this competition, yet here she was.

While she had said that, Bridgette couldn't help but admit that this had been the most comfortable she had felt in a while; being able to relax and not stress over food, as well as not feel distrust toward the people around her.

Speaking of, the people currently around her were rather strange. There was Aoife, who appeared to be far more normal than the other's and was a sudden addition to the island, yet appeared to be nothing like what was expected of him. Then, there was Izzy, who was exactly like expected, yet that didn't detract from her strangeness at all; she was a somewhat crazy, thrill-seeking girl.

Yet, these two people that appeared to be the complete opposite had somehow managed to come together, bearing a closeness that made Bridgette somewhat envious.

But then again, while they appeared different on the surface, Bridgette wondered if that were really true.

Her idea that Aoife was going to be the odd one out among their merry band of competitors had been proven patently false just by the hut she was currently in. Glancing around, Bridgette confirmed to herself once again, how could an average person build this?

Looking up, Bridgette felt a bit of a sting at the closeness of the pair, thinking of Geoff and how different he had turned out from what she had originally thought him to be. She had truly begun to like him, feeling themselves to have a lot in common; yet, this was put into question with his seemingly blatant disregard for the safety of his teammates.

Letting out a sigh, Bridgette glanced at the pair of male and female before her, opening her mouth to ask, "So, why did you bring me here? Couldn't you have just dropped me back off at camp?" While she was asking questions, she didn't seem to really care for the answer.

Looking up, Aoife's sharp features morphed into a comforting smile, "You seem like the social type, I thought you'd like company more than being along. Besides, you seemed to be having a rough go of it even before our trap, if you'd like to go to the camp, I don't mind taking you over there?" Aoife said, his tone gentle, ending it with a question.

Bridgette smiled, having some good feelings for the man, he had saved her after all; never mind that he was the one to trap her in the first place.

Thinking it over, she eventually shook her head, clearly showing her desire to stay rather than return to the empty cabins.

"Well, Izzy and I are planning to head out to get some dinner, would you like to accompany us?" Aoife continued, seeming to be trying to help her out of her fugue. Looking up with a thankful smile, Bridgette gave an acceptant nod, agreeing to go with them.

"I heard you're vegetarian, right?" The voice of the only other woman there rang out, drawing both Bridgette and Aoife's attention. Giving a nod of confirmation, Bridgette decided to speak up, "If that's not something you're comfortable with, I don't mind gathering something on my own." Her tone one of resignation, already used to people having negative reactions toward her dietary choices.

"Nonsense! I once knew a great guy in Brazil who was vegetarian, he helped me to escape the FBI as they were chasing me down!" Izzy said, her tone full of excitement at the memory. This caused strange looks to appear on both Aoife and Bridgette's faces.

Giving Izzy a look that said 'We'll talk about this later.', Aoife turned toward Bridgette, giving her a reassuring nod to show his agreement with Izzy.

Letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding, Bridgette seemed far more relieved than she expected from their acceptance.

With this, the conversation ended, and along with its end, the three got up from their position, planning to head out for food. "Seeing as you're vegetarian, why don't we collect some spices and fruits as well as some fish?" The questioning voice of Aoife rang out.

Bridgette pondered for a moment, before she nodded in acceptance, finding the choices to be a rather nice combination.

As they left the hut, Bridgette glanced around the clearing for the first time. During her time heading toward the hut, she had been much too distracted by her own thoughts to take note of what was around her.

Looking around, she found a mostly empty area save for what looked like primitive training equipment, as well as a smaller shed. (Who can guess what this is?)

Choosing not to say anything about the strange objects, Bridgette followed along as the couple walked into the forest, seemingly confident in their ability to navigate it.

Turning toward her, seemingly understanding her questioning gaze, Aoife answered her unasked question. "We've both fully explored the forest, with me having fully explored the island within this week we've had for this challenge."

Bridgette gave an understanding nod, choosing not to question their seemingly supernatural speed.

The group of three would then carry on, collecting food for the night, enjoying a fulfilling meal before the three went to sleep within the small hut, with Izzy laying atop Aoife to make more room for Bridgette.

All the campers could currently be seen lined up, the expressions of the two teams showing starkly different expressions.

While the Killer Bass had looks of resignation, already understanding their loss of the competition, the Screaming Gophers actually had looks of nervous anticipation, not knowing the results.

"The winner of this challenge is," a dramatic pause, something Aoife was quickly becoming tired of, "The Screaming Gophers!"

Chris' announcement caused cheers to resound from the Screaming Gophers while the solemn atmosphere of the Killer Bass seemed to become even more depressing.

Bridgette could currently be seen standing next to both Izzy and Aoife, having bonded with the two the previous night. She gave her team a look of worry, seeing as the team had seemingly fractured with this defeat, not able to handle two crushing defeats back-back.

"I have one more announcement to make." Chris said, interrupting the atmosphere around both teams, each giving him a glare, already getting used to his antics. "Due to certain people seemingly being displeased with either their current teams or their team being displeased with them, I've decided that a team switch would make sense!"

Chris said, anticipation building up within both teams, "So, Killer Bass, welcome your new member, Noah!" Chris said, his voice emphasizing Noah's name, adding to the dramatization. (Hopefully, you can hear Chris' voice saying this, that's what I was going for.)

This caused Heather to gain a smirk on her face as the Screaming Gophers gave the man a glare, clearly irritated by some past action of his, to which he responded with his irritating smirk. Bridgette gave the two standing next to her a questioning look, gaining a shake of the head in return.

"And Screaming Gophers, please welcome," *Insert dramatic pause here*, "Bridgette!" By this point, Aoife had seemingly mastered the skill to space out during Chris' dramatic pauses. Giving Bridgette a congratulating smile, Aoife seemed to convey with his look 'Is this what you want?' Earning a shy nod from Bridgett in return.

"And that officially concludes the second challenge!" Chris said, carrying on, "Killer Bass, I'll be seeing you later for elimination.

During this break, Bridgette introduced herself to her new team, finding the members to be far more approachable than her previous team. Curiously, she asked them what Noah had done to seemingly upset the whole team, to which she got no reply, as if whatever he'd done had been truly awful.

Both Aoife and Izzy looked on, happy for the acclimation of their new member to the team.

A/N: Hope you all enjoyed! This chapter was a bit of a shorter one, but I felt that this was the proper place to end it. The next chapter will also be an interesting one where we are introduced a bit more to the other characters as well as a perspective from the audience.
