Chapter 13: Let Them Eat Cake
Gemma excitedly looked around her chosen bakery - she'd found them on a blog of Brooklyn hot spots and was determined to have them bake her wedding cake and desserts. While the bakery looked just like any other, the word on the street was that their flavors were amazing.
When you first walked into the bakery, you were greeted with a small coffee shop setup where the pastries were on display behind a glass case and there were a few cafe tables scattered throughout the shop inside. There were also several cafe tables on the street, visible through the windows at the front of the store.
The cake-tasting area was off to the left, a few feet away from the cafe section. The tables in this section were decorated with a wedding theme. The walls were two-toned - pastel pink and purple and adorned with posters of cakes they'd done before.
Gemma turned to Max to comment on the decor when she noticed that he had his head buried in his phone with a big frown on his face.
