Packed Up Ambush

It was an odd and unexpected occurrence. Yuichi had followed the mysterious white lady down an as-yet-undiscovered path. It was still a part of the library's structure, with mossy cobblestone and wooden pillars forming the wall and a ceiling-mounted chandelier providing lighting for the surrounding spaces.

Yuichi seems to be attempting to figure out why the mysterious white lady has suddenly shown up to him, despite the fact that he is only grudgingly following her. He was trailing the enigmatic white woman when she abruptly stopped in the distance and hid behind the hallway's shadow. Yuichi stopped and looked at the woman, the atmosphere of paranoia engulfing them both as he gazes into the lady with his reluctant decision.

Tensed, Yuichi and the woman stood motionless, waiting for something to happen. Until the woman slowly turned around to face Yuichi and turned her head to face him once more. With a sick feeling in his stomach, Yuichi was staring back at her.

Yuichi stared back at the faceless woman, feeling a shiver of unease run down his spine. Her face was a disconcerting blank, and she looked straight at him. The lack of a face added to the uncanny atmosphere, making him wonder if she was actually a ghost. Or actually, she is a ghost perhaps.

The eerie ambience intensifies to the point where the torchlight in the overhead chandelier starts to dance to the enigmatic wind whistles, briefly illuminating the corridor. Due to this, the place was beginning to get darker and darker because of the light being blown up by the wind.

Yuichi was perplexed by the sudden occurrence that he broke a single sweat from becoming paranoid about this. But he knew that panicking would not help him, so he calmed down and composed as he closed his eyes briefly and slowly walks toward the mysterious white lady.

Yuichi noticed something interesting as he walked slowly up to the woman: she didn't move, as if she didn't see him coming. Her silence betrayed a sense of expectation, as though she were calmly waiting for him to arrive.

A gust of wind blew out the torchlight hanging above the chandelier, illuminating the hallway and bringing in an eerie atmosphere. When there was no light, the woman's pale, white glow was all that was visible, but she didn't really stand out in the dark. As a result, Yuichi was compelled to focus his attention on the white woman because she was giving off a soft glow.

However, as soon as he did, a screen regarding his activation on one of his passives was displayed by the system.

[A passive has been activated... [Mystical Eye]

[Optimizing your field vision...]

Yuichi's cyan eyes gave off a faint glow in the dark hallway, giving him a brief glimpse of night vision. A sudden flash of red light momentarily blinded him as he turned to face the mysterious lady. And for the first time, he could see her face, or rather, her mouth, before the strange red light surrounded her once more.

Instinctively, Yuichi covered both of his eyes, momentarily rendered blind by a mysterious red light. He quickly wiped away his discomfort and opened his eyes cautiously to see that the mysterious white lady had been gone moments before and that the area was empty. Bewildered by the mysterious lady's abrupt and total disappearance, he looked around him in confusion.

'Where did that white lady go?' He thought while searching around.

Confused by what was happening, Yuichi looked around him to see where the missing white woman might be, but she was nowhere to be seen. A persistent discomfort that hinted at a sense of dread that something might be wrong settled into his thoughts as he considered the circumstances.

While he turned on his heel, ready to go back, a low growl echoed through the shadowy corridor. Awakened by the noise, Yuichi stared down the dark, empty hallway. At first, nothing seemed frightening, but when he blinked, a shadowy, enigmatic creature that looked like a wolf suddenly materialised and was flying towards him.

Because of his acute awareness, Yuichi was able to avoid the shadow wolf's deadly blow as soon as he sensed its sudden attack. However, a second shadow wolf appeared behind him in the blink of an eye, taking advantage of the opening to attack Yuichi's exposed back mercilessly.

'There's two of them!?' Yuichi quickly pondered in his mind, reading the situation while dodging away.

Luckily, he was able to detect the presence of the second attacker thanks to a passive ability called [Spatial Instinct]. The second shadow wolf lunged, its razor-sharp claws slicing through the air dangerously close to his head as he quickly reacted and dodged. A straight shot would have been lethal.

After dodging two successive ambush attacks with skill, he hurried back to get a safe distance away from the menacing shadow wolves. He took a defensive stance and held both hands in a ready position, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

'I have fought these monster before. I can defeat them easily.'

Yuichi stood, waiting, alert to anything that might happen. The dark shapes of the shadow wolves stirred and prepared for a coordinated charge. One of them sprang straight towards Yuichi, charging him head-on, and the other one spun around incredibly quickly, preparing to come up from the side. These monstrous creatures' choreographed movements made them even more dangerous, and the tension mounted as Yuichi prepared for the impending double attack.

The Shadow Wolves are well known for being adept at fighting in cramped areas and for having very well-coordinated attacks. They are extremely strong opponents because of their exceptional skill and power, especially in group settings. It is not advisable to fight a lone Shadow Wolf because their deadly power is greatest when they are in packs.

With a deft move, Yuichi sidestepped the first shadow wolf's blow, barely escaping a bite to his stomach. With their claws ready for a quick strike, the shadow wolves on either side of Yuichi closed in on his exposed back, but he managed a deft dodge to barely avoid their well-coordinated attack. The captivating fight played out, a captivating dance between Yuichi's deft maneuver and the shadow wolves' unrelenting blows, producing a beautiful but dangerous show.

The first shadow wolf lunged at Yuichi, its menacing form poised to strike. Yuichi braced himself. Knowing that the wolf would attack, Yuichi acted quickly when the wolf was squarely in front of him. He skilfully used his [Wind Gale], harnessing the power of the wind to increase his strength, in a well-planned move. With his newly acquired strength, he punched the wolf hard and quickly, sending it flying into the earth. The blow was so powerful that it broke through the solid surface and guaranteed the shadow wolf's defeat in one fell swoop.

The method of earning Experience Points (EXP) in the Dungeon Room is not the same as it is outside. Slaying a monster outside of the Dungeon Room instantly awards experience points. Nevertheless, in the Dungeon Room, rewards and experience points are only awarded upon successfully completing the room. As such, in order to receive the rewards, you must successfully navigate and overcome the obstacles presented by the Dungeon Room.

Yuichi drops to a momentary crouch after punching a shadow wolf hard to the ground. His moment of peace is cut short when another shadow wolf darts in and gives him a hard blow to the back. Even though Yuichi knows the attack is coming, he can't avoid it because of the time constraint. He instinctively raises his right arm to defend himself from the attack, but this causes a deep cut that goes all the way to his forearm.

With lightning speed, Yuichi rose to his feet, taking up a defensive position and scanning the battlefield for a tactical edge. The shadow wolf, unrelenting in its attack, lunged at Yuichi, who skilfully sidestepped the blow and danced elegantly with the shadow wolf. As Yuichi looked for a chance to end the fight decisively, the skirmish took place.

Yuichi acted quickly, seizing the chance to attack and concentrating his energy into a clenched fist. Unfazed, the powerful shadow wolf charged right at him. Yuichi quickly took advantage of the opening and delivered a powerful blow that struck the shadow wolf squarely in the head. The creature was sent flying into the merciless wall by the impact, demonstrating Yuichi's strength and cunning.

An aqueous stain of blood from the shadow wolves made Yuichi's hand quiver a little. After killing the ambushers, he stood in the middle of the dimly lit hallway, triumphant, though he did not enjoy the victory for long. The echoes of the battle continued, and footsteps behind him produced a menacing sound.

A dark rumble came from the shadows, signalling the approach of seven terrifying beings. They moved slowly and methodically forward, threatening to envelop Yuichi in their web of danger.

Turning on his heel, Yuichi confronted the approaching pack of shadow wolves. He was hesitant to face these terrifying opponents because he was feeling the consequences of his choice. Even though he was hesitant, the harsh reality had no other choice; trying to flee would not work because the shadow wolves were able to track him down faster than anyone could ever imagine.

Yuichi let out an exasperated sigh, his frustration clearly visible, and clenched his fist, mentally preparing to defend himself and face the unrelenting shadow wolves.

Yuichi let out a frustrated sigh, expressing how tired he was with the whole thing. His eyes remained focused on the approaching shadow wolves, a determined expression on his face indicating that he was prepared to fight.

"This is such a hassle."
