POV. Eve

I'm getting my books from my locker, and Zara comes up. "We are going to a party," Zara said. "What?... we don't go to parties," I said. "Well, Ryan invites us. He wants to apologize for what happened at lunch," she said.

"Ryan doesn't need to apologize," I said. "I know I talked to him, he doesn't have to, but he insisted," Zara said. "ok.. we're going to a party," I said. "YES," said Zara. "When is the party?" I said.

"Friday night at 8:00," Zara said. I nodded, then grabbed my book and put them in my backpack. Zara's Mom picked her up from school, and I walked home. When I got there, my aunt texted me and said, "I got overtime at work. It will be a little bit longer, but dinner is on the stove that I made before I went to work," from Aunt Rose.

"Alright..," I said. I went to the kitchen to see what was for dinner. There was a pot full of chicken alfredo, my favorite food. I grabbed myself a bowl of it and went up to my room to watch the 100. After I finished my food, I continued watching TV, and then I went downstairs to grab a cup of juice.

*knock knock*

I heard someone knocking at the door, so I went to answer it, but the knocking would get louder and louder when I took every step. Immediately upon at the Door, I reached my hand to the door handle, twisting it. When I got it open, there was a package. I picked it up, and it said it's for me. I see if anyone is in the area, but there was no one around besides the neighbors.

I went inside up to my room. I put the package on my bed and got a pair of scissors. Open it up and what I saw is *scream* *crying* my dead cat! "OMG... No no... Tabitha," I said, crying. I called my aunt and told her what happened while I was crying to her. She came home and called the police to put a report on Animal cruelty.

That night my aunt and I buried my cat, and I couldn't fall asleep. *NEXT DAY* My aunt and I were eating our breakfast she made. I was looking at my food, moving it around with my fork. Just think about Tabitha and how she means everything to me—also, thinking who would do this?

"Eve...Hello, eve... hello...EVE," said aunt Rosa. "Oh, sorry, What were you saying," I said. "I was saying you don't have to go to school if you're not up for it," She said. "No, I'm fine," I said. "you know it's ok to be not fine," She said.

I'm sorry for your loss," said Zara. "what! how did you hear this from?" I said. "The whole town knows about it," She said. "WHAT!" I said. "Shhh, people are staring at us. HI, NOTHING IS GOING ON HERE! GO ON WITH YOUR DAY." She announced.

"How did everyone know?" I said. "I'm guessing that the little church girl heard it from her parents, and now it's going around like covid-19," Zara said. "Of course Elsa would do that. It is just like her," I said. "So what happened... You don't have to tell me, but I'm here for you," She said, trying to be empathetic.

"I don't know what to say. I came home, ate, relaxed, and then someone knocked at my door as someone needed help, and when I opened the door, there was a package on my porch. I brought it up to my room, and I opened it, and you know," I said.

"I never said that you could expose me like that," Zara said dramatically. We start laughing then she asks me. "Come over tonight," She said. "Oh, a sleepover," I said. "yeah, we have the house to ourselves. My Mom is out of town for the next two weeks," She said. "Ok, I'll come over, but I'm going to tell my aunt where I'm going," I said. "Ok, I'll see you later tonight," She said.

{ After School }

I finally finish my homework *knock* "come in," I said. My aunt walks in."Hey, are you ok?" said aunt Rosa. *sigh* "I told you that I'm fine. I'm leaving at 6:oo to go over to Zara's house; alright," I said. "That is a good idea. You should get out of this house."

"I guess you're fine then. Ok, is Zara coming to pick you up? Aunt Rose said. "No, I'm walking there, I said. "Be safe ok," She said. "Of course, Rosa, I said. She walks out of my room, and I start packing some of my stuff; then I watch TV until it's 6:00.

When it was time for me to head out, I grabbed my bags. Before I left, I wanted to say goodbye to my aunt, but she fell asleep. I started walking there, but it was a little scary seeing that it was dark out. Why didn't I take a coat? It is so cold out. Hopefully, I'm almost there.
