My eyes dart in the direction of the voice and I see Alpha Beckett is gesturing me to sit down. Mrs. Beckett already is, and I hadn't even noticed it.
I slowly inch my way to the table and I end up sitting to Adam, since both Alpha Beckett and Mrs. Beckett gesture to it.
"So, how was the fitting?" Alpha Beckett asks, as if he really cares.
I don't say anything. Instead Mrs. Beckett dives right into it, telling him everything. And he pretends to look interested, which he pulls off marvelously.
He's even a better liar then I thought.
And she carries on like that for a while. Enough for the food to be done and served. I pick at it the whole time, scared that they may have poisoned it or something.
"Are you not hungry?" Adam whispers to me and I glance over at him briefly, shaking my head.
"I'm just not feeling good. Must have been something I ate earlier."
