"England."

Like a beautiful sonata, the answer flow inside her ears. Every muscle and bone within her shivered in glee. Her brain began to produce dopamine and serotonin to celebrate the momentous trophy she has received. Finally, her hard-worked was paid-No, not yet. Shem never mentioned the exact location. The man was teasing her.

"Can you be more specific?" She frowned while shoving his face away from her. When the man reached two-steps back, she crossed her fair-arms under her bulging chest. Implying that she wasn't satisfied. Plus, Shem is a bit rude, whispering the answer to a woman's ear means a lot of things, worst, sexual harassment. They are not lovers. Shem has no right in invading her space.

'Someone might hear, damn it!'

Looking at the upset expression displayed by Erina, Shem allowed himself to be pushed back. He wasn't doing something rude. Base on his sensors, the dining hall was riddled with listening apparatus both analog and digital. Shem can manipulate digital information, but for the analog (listening tubes), impossible.

He can turn his shields to prevent sounds from traveling around but he would risk his identity. His secrets would be open to everyone if he suddenly emits a white aura. That is the last thing Shem wanted to show. He will not risk applying his techs for a simple answer.

'Middle finger, to the architect of this manor!'

To him, perhaps teasing her would probably change her mind for the time being. Knowing the power of the supposed captors of her mother, the church. The Adelmo family wasn't strong enough to defend or even cooked-up a siege to their hidden base. If she tells his father about what will she know from Shem, there would be a bloodbath. And princess luck was not on their side.

But Shem was thinking too far.

"Didn't I say, I'd like to know." She restated her words earlier, Erina knew that he was teasing strictly because of her connection to his father who was searching for his wife by any means necessary. She knew that Shem has plans for this continent and she herself is the biggest supporter. "I'm not a fool like father, I know my weakness, rest assured."

Shem curves his lips up.

He didn't want to touch the beast, who was sleeping on this continent yet when he was still weak. The information blowout last month was enough to lessen their strength. Looking at the hunting operations conducted by the authorities like the NGHA, the church asset was weakened by about 39%. A number that can give Shem enough time to manufacture his arsenals.

The dining hall felt cold, despite the heater pumping more warmth, the conversation between the two people occupying the large-luxurious hall is perhaps the cause.

"What was your mother like? What's the value of your motivation?" Shem looks at Erina's blue eyes. He was convinced by her reason. Though partially.

"I thought you know?" She crossed her perfectly shaped legs over the other and leaned her back against the chair, striking a bewitching look. "Did your stalking operations of my private life omitted mother's?"

Shem blush, Erina right now was sexy. Her black business dress emphasizes her beauty and curves. Any man without the strength to hold down their cowboy will definitely regress back from civilized thinking. In so doing his attention at his hands and diverted his gaze to maintain consciousness.

[Hormonal secretion stabilized.] Eliza announced.

Shem knew everything about Erina thanks to his intelligence gathering system but the emotion and happy times weren't included. Can you describe feelings in 1s and 0s? Yes, but not all. He knew that they were close, Erina and her mother, but not the emotion that ties their knots together.

"Yeah," Shem sat on the side of the table. "… I know less about you and your family. I'm not God."

Erina formed a smile.

"If this information helps in the convincing, please listen and don't react until I'm finished. Hear me well?"

"Alright, my ears are opened."

"Dr. Alecia Adelmo, my mother is a biological scientist, she had a Ph.D. in Genetics and Cytology. Her field of expertise was on the study of ghouls. To her, they were fascinating creatures that can be the possible future of humanity. Her research was funded by the NGHA and EU Union. Outside her work, she is a diligent housewife and a very cheerful supportive mother. As far as I can remember she loves me very much, that she would often tell father to spend more time at home than at work."

Erina stopped and sip a glass of water. Her description of her mother ended enough to convince Shem.

"You're making me tear up Erina, your mother reminds me back home." Shem looked at her with a melancholic expression. His parents back home in the other dimension are probably worried about him.

"Maybe you should go home after your venture in this continent." Suggested by Erina.

"I plan to do so, in the near future. I think."

"Did I convince you fully? Will you tell me her precise location?"

"Can I whisper?" Shem look at her. " I don't want anybody listening."

Erina nodded as she understands Shem's implication. Her home was filled with an advanced surveillance system that can monitor anyone inside. The collected data is then sent to the owner and head of the house, Mr. Heinz Adelmo.

With the approval, Shem Bends his body down and put his mouth near the vicinity of Erina's ear. He can smell the flower odor from Erina. But he collected himself and told her the truth she deserved for the hard-worked she has done.

"Have you heard about Naring Project?"

Erina gasp. That word lay weight to her.

"Where…Ah, I thought the authorities kept it hidden…!" Erina bit her lip as Shem pulled his head away from her.

"What was that exactly?" Shem wanted to confirm his information.

"If the human tissue can be cloned, is it viable in lowering the predation index of the ghouls?" Erina looked towards Shem with an expression of concern. "Naring Project is a realization of that research question."

"Naring is the word for Nourishment in Scandinavian, right?"

"Yes, a name for a greater purpose. It was a failed research of the EU Union, NGHA, and the British Government, under my parents' supervision. When the lab exploded my mother was lost from us."

The location of the Research facility is located in the New Forest National Park. Underground research base. It was a former bomb shelter that dates back to 1933.

"But that information Erina is from 12-months ago, January. Currently, I don't know where your mother is."

"Is that so?... Thanks, I appreciated it." Erina received enough. While gritting her teeth, in a concealed way.
