I looked at the food I vomited on the floor just now thinking how the fuck could I forget that I'm a half-ghoul now and I can't eat the normal human food now, that toast tasted like...a normal toast?

Wait a minute the toast didn't taste gross at all as they said in the anime, I hurriedly walked towards my fridge and took out a tetra pack of milk and drank it without any second thoughts….it tastes like milk but that shouldn't be possible since all my physical capabilities are enhanced and I saw my kakugan in the mirror last night at Kanou's place, wait.. my kakugan is placed on the right side instead of left, isn't that the same as Takatsuki sen or should I say, Eto Yoshimura, the natural-born half-ghoul…

I can't remember properly but I guess since she was able to hide her identity so well then that means that natural half ghouls can consume human food without any repercussion but I'm not a natural half-ghoul, I was made into one the same way the former Kaneki was that is, through surgery.

I suddenly thought of something that I missed out earlier, wasn't the baby ghoul whose Kakugan was implanted in me was a test subject for Kanou's half-ghoul research and Kanou wasn't able to verify whether the baby was really a half-ghoul or not cause it was born blind...So that means that the Kakugan of a natural-born half-ghoul that died before getting born was implanted in me...So I somehow gained the ability to be able to eat human food like other natural-born half ghouls.

"Amazing", I said to myself.

With this even I'll have to change how I"m gonna proceed from now on, my earlier plan seems too much of a hassle now that I've realized about this ability that I have.

I cleaned up the floor while pondering about how I should use my current situation to the best I can.

After I finished cleaning up the house it was around nine in the morning and since I had nothing much to do in the house I decided to go to Anteiku to taste some coffee and admire Touka-chan a bit more.

When I entered the coffee shop I was welcomed by Touka chan herself who looked at me strangely for shorter than a second before welcoming me, I showed her a slight smile, hopefully, it wasn't creepy and went to place my order and sat down on my regular seat near the window while gazing around.

I could feel the gazes of the surrounding ghoul staff at me for longer than usual aswell, a few minutes later I got my cup of coffee and I savoured it to the last drop while of course gazing at Touka chan secretly whenever I got a chance.

After finishing the coffee I browsed my phone for a while and then stood up to pay for my coffee, the old man while collecting my money gave me his usual smile and I returned it back..though weirdly...cause even though I'm not the former Kaneki returning a smile to this old man still feels difficult…

I exited the shop and walked in a random direction while wondering where I should go next.

"His smell changed.", Touka said curiously right after I exited the shop.

"Indeed," said Yoshimura while the rest of the staff nodded listening to them.
