Steve's topic had shifted quite quickly.
However, Madeleine was glad that he had changed the subject and didn't dwell on the previous matter, so she didn't give it much thought and nodded to Steve, saying, "Go ahead, Steve, ask."
Steve spoke lightly, "Madeleine, I want to know, when did Olivia Foster change her last name to Burton?"
Steve's question was completely baffling.
Madeleine was taken aback, then shook her head and laughed, "Steve, how could Olivia have the last name Burton?"
