Kimberly felt the guilt eating her. "No. He hasn't. I don't even know if he's still breathing or fighting for his life somewhere."
Her mother gave a pitying look. "He had probably forgotten you. Or blocked your number."
"Fuck."
"Even if you can't restore your relationship like how it was in the past, you better have just even the slightest connection. You know, for the kids."
"I think the kids are the only thing that will keep us connected in the future too."
