Chapter 76: Su family's visit.

"Master. Old Master wants to speak to you." A man dressed in black came and handed a phone to Jade Nicholas. Jade looked at the caller ID and his gaze turned dark. Of course he had already anticipated this, but he has yet to find a good explanation for whatever he had done. He was a man who never lost a war. But today, he lost the battle even before it started. His defeat was ugly that his insides were screaming of shame. Li Wei had blasted his mafia base and he didn't even know when he got the time to plan all this. Exactly who helped him?

Without wasting anymore time in dwelling in his thoughts, he swiped up the call icon and held the phone close to his ear.

"I heard my ever-so-capable grandson has lost a fight today. A fight for which he started planning few months ago." A aged voice sounded from the other side but the power and dominance in the voice was not abated by the gruffness due to the old age. Jade scrunched his brows but he didn't have anything to say.

"I have given you a task to do years ago. And I don't think you have found anything useful till now. Now you brought me a loss worth billion dollars. You expect me to handle my throne to such an imbecile?" A storm raged in Jade's eyes when he heard the old man question his capability. The throne of the underworld mafia, the throne of the dark lord, to which many governments bow down, he wanted it. It belonged to him. But this old man, though already nearing his end, didn't hand it over to him.

"This will not repeat again grand father. I will show the world what it is to go against a Nicholas." there was no response from the other side when Jade said this. It was only after few seconds that everyone heard the loud laugh of the old man in the room.

"I don't care what you show the world. I only care about what you show me. And as far as I know, you still didn't find the thing I wanted to see."

Jade kept quite hearing this. He was searching all the three worlds to find that one green eyed girl but she was no where to be found.

"You don't have much time to find her. Darius is impressing me a lot these days." the old man disconnected the call after saying his piece leaving Jade all irritated and riled up. Give his power to his half brother Darius? Not even in his dreams will that happen.

"Big Sis. Why did you not want to go to hospital before? And why are you going now?" Li Mei asked as she sat on the couch in Ling Yue's room. Ling Yue was sitting on her wheel chair in front of the dressing mirror and doing her hair.

"I have a little hospital phobia. Nothing much. Today I am going there for my regular checkup. I am completely fine." Ling Yue answered while looking at Li Mei in mirror. She smiled looking at Li Mei roll her eyes not believing her words but didn't ask any more questions.

Li Mei of course didn't believe her answer. Hospital phobia? Alright, it might be true. But even when you are in life or death situation? And was she really fine now? No, she would not believe it. She had helped her dress the wound today in the morning and the stitches were still raw. If she was fine, then why was she still using the wheel chair? Hmphh..

"Alright now. Let's go down." Li Mei nodded and opened the door for Ling Yue. Yesterday she shifted to ground floor so that she wouldn't have to struggle with her wheel chair to climb upstairs. Steering her wheel chair to dining room, Ling Yue took her original place and soon the table got populated with family members and the dishes.

Everything was cooked taking Ling Yue's health into consideration. It was neither too spicy nor too sweet. Soon Li Wei piled up her plate with fruits and leafy vegetables and Ling Yue didn't complain about this plain diet. Li Wei was on leave to take her to hospital and get all the tests done. The morning was peaceful with everyone talking with Ling Yue and Father Li occasionally getting into arguments but with a fun and happy ambience filling up the home.

Looking at the happy shouts and laughs, now all the maids and Butler understood how important Ling Yue was for this family. Though the Li Mansion never lacked warmth, her presence made it a paradise. And how could they not read their young master's eyes. They had the same intensity what Father Li had for Mother Li. And of course they could also see what the other three of the Li family were cooking up in their crafty brains to get Ling Yue into the family tree.

Though their madam and master never told them about her background, they had given them strict instructions to treat Ling Yue no less than they treat Li Wei and Li Mei. And looking at the grace and elegance Ling Yue carried, they can tell she was no normal person to meddle with. But what attracted them most to the girl was her attitude to others. She was never clingy to their young master, neither too reserved in front of their master and madam. She didn't go around bossing anyone and always did every little thing herself.

Never did she even ask to fill up her water jug in her room. She always did it herself. If one observes correctly, it was the Li family who were 24/7 trying to get her recognition. As the breakfast was coming to an end, the Butler came to the table to announce something.

"Miss Ling. Mr Su and Ms Su are here to meet you." There. This little announcement was enough to bring dark thundering clouds hovering over Uncle Shen and Father Li. Li Wei carefully gauged Ling Yue's expression but found nothing unusual except a little unexpectedness.

Though Ling Yue wasn't in a mood to meet them now, but she knew those people well. They wouldn't leave quietly and she wouldn't want to create trouble for the Li family early in the morning. She steered herself into the waiting hall saying that she would manage it herself after her breakfast was completed. She would not leave her breakfast just because someone from the Su family came for her.

She didn't forget her contacts too. She always had them on whenever meeting with strangers. Li Mei once asked why she use them to hide her beautiful eyes and Ling Yue's reply was that her eye color attracted too much attention. Though they didn't understand it back then, now the family knew that Jade Nicholas and his team is searching for her and indeed it would be easy to find her with that unique eye color.

As soon as she left the dining room, Father Li and Uncle Shen jolted up and ran to eavesdrop on their conversation. If it was someone else, then they would have behaved like flaunting peacocks and walked straight into the room. But it was Ling Yue here. She said them that she could handle, which meant they should not be interfering. And obviously they wouldn't dare.

"Miss Ling. A very good morning to you." Mr Su got up and greeted Ling Yue to which she nodded. Beside him was Su Rui who was bitter inside seeing Ling Yue in Li Mansion. But receiving a warning glare from her father, Su Rui too greeted Ling Yue and received the same response as her father received.

"May I know the purpose of your arrival here Mr Su?" Ling Yue's lucid tone with a tinge of cold edge unconsciously made Mr Su straighten his back. Looking at her get-to-the-point attitude, he couldn't continue his formal greetings anymore.

"Ahem.. Miss Ling. It has come to my notice that my daughter has inadvertently offended you because of wrong usage of words. She has been feeling guilty for it and wants to apologize to you." Su Rong looked at Su Rui and signalled her to recite the speech he has taught her at home to curb Ling Yue's anger.

"Oh.." This was Ling Yue's only response and turned to look at Su Rui who had her hands clenched into tight fists yet her face still refused to openly show the hatred in Li Mansion. Her face masking practice was truly commendable, Ling Yue thought. She smirked hearing no response or apology from Su Rui as Su Rong claimed.

"Seems like young Miss Su is yet to build her vocabulary to make up an apology. You can come back when you have your dictionary updated. But make sure it is before the deadline my lawyer stated to you so that you and your family doesn't incur any losses. I have things to do. So I will leave now." Outside Father Li and Uncle Shen nodded their heads hearing Ling Yue's words. Good. Now she has to come out.

Ling Yue was about to turn her electric wheel chair around when Su Rong spoke again. "Ahh Miss Ling. You have misunderstood the situation. Su Rui is just a little worried about you being on wheel chair and forgot to respond properly. Please don't take it to heart." Ling Yue raised her brows hearing this. Wow! Worried about her?

Su Rui couldn't handle her father's pressure anymore and took a step forward to apologize. "Miss Ling. I am sorry for mentioning about you sleeping around. Please forgive me." Ling Yue's eyes darkened hearing her apology. Not like she wanted one, but she wouldn't accept this audacious behaviour in her presence. The cold chill enveloped the room making Su Rong and Su Rui gulp. This time Su Rong too was flustered hearing such an insincere and indecent apology from Su Rui. Outside the room, Father Li and Uncle Shen had fire raging inside them. Without waiting they both barged into the room.

Su Rong was startled looking two formidable figures in the country in the same room as him. One was the economic pillar, while the other was the military pillar. And right now neither of them seemed approachable with dark clouds looming over their heads.

"Master Li, Master Shen. What a surprise." Su Rong blurted to which Ling Yue was the first one to answer.

"You came to the Li household and you are surprised seeing Master of the house here? What a surprise indeed." Ling Yue's sarcastic remark and her jovial manner in front of Master Li and Master Shen irked Su Rui to no bounds.

"Yueyue. We are getting late for hospital. We have to start now." Just then Li Wei entered room to take Ling Yue to hospital. Su Rui eyes sparkled looking at him. He had always been in a business suit in her previous encounters but today he was in a simple white shirt and a light blue jeans giving off an youthful vibe perfectly blending with an matured aura. She couldn't take her eyes off him.

"Good morning President Li. Hope you have a pleasant morning." Su Rui soft voice with that warm smile playing on her face made her look like a well mannered and polite lady of an elite family but the experienced eyes in the room knew better.

Li Wei nodded and went to take the handles of Ling Yue's wheel chair but Su Rui spoke again.

"What happened to you Miss Ling? Are you hurt somewhere? As a sincere apology, I would like to take you to hospital today." Su Rui sweetly smiled at Ling Yue and her shy gaze sometimes fell on Li Wei. But Ling Yue's next words wiped off that sickening smile completely.

"Ahh.. No no young miss Su. I am already feeling bad for having you here stand to apologize on such a sad day for your entire family. You don't have to burden yourself with this." everyone in the room frowned. What day was it? Su Rong racked his brain to remember if there was any relevance to this date but his memory filtered none.

"What sad day are you talking about Miss Ling?" Su Rong questioned Ling Yue while mentally preparing himself for some heavy blow. His company was already running in ruins and he don't even know how it came to this state in just two days. Was this a news of bankruptcy? The other's in the room too looked at Ling Yue waiting for her reply.

"Oh you don't have to hide your pain Mr Su. Isn't this the day your daughter died years ago. It must be very tough for you even after so many years." the entire room fell silent hearing this. Su Rong and Su Rui paled while Li Wei, father Li and Uncle Shen clenched their fists. Li Wei looked at Su Rong with an intensity that would probably freeze hell fire too. This was the day this man had sent his Yueyue to that sanatorium. Looking at Su Rong's face, the hatred for this man grew larger. This was the same man who forced Min Hua to marry an asshole and pushed her to her death.

"Yueyue. The car is waiting already. Let's go."
