Chapter 33: The Suitor

Heldon shot up with such force that he threw Janz’s strong arm off him, waking him.

What was that?!

His pulse pounded in his neck like a drum, and he struggled to catch his breath. A wave of intense, bright anger flooded his veins and filled his chest with fire.

“Hey, you ok? You didn’t stir at all last night.” Janz was shirtless in their bed, his broad torso lifted up, and wrapped one arm around Heldon.

“Uh…” Heldon’s head pounded, and his mouth was cotton dry. “I think so.”

He had this itching in the back of his skull that there was something he was missing, or he had forgotten.

“Your mark looks better. All of the blue is gone.” Janz remarked and Heldon whipped around, his loose hair flying.

He grabbed the looking glass and peered into it. His skin now looked almost normal, except the two puncture wounds.

“How?” Heldon asked.

It didn’t make any sense.
