Chapter Sixty Four: Quick Time

[Boosh-Boom!"]

The air made weird and unatural noises as a fast volleyball tore through it, it was sent towards a certain hazel eyed boy.

"…"

Rian recieved the ball with his forearms and sent it up into the air, a normal person would have been placed in a hospital bed if they recieved such a ball.

"I got it!!!"

Nana jumped up and slapped the ball back to the side it came from, she was on Rian's team. She wore a peach colored swimsuit, Nana decided to wear something more…beach like today.

[Whoosh]

Nana held back, she sent the volleyball towards Mikan. Mikan wore a white colored one piece swimsuit.

"Yami!!"

Mikan called out to her teammate, she recieved the ball and sent it high in the sky.

"Good Mikan…"

Yami said in her usual tone of voice before jumping into the air. She wore a black colored swimsuit, she was the opposite of Mikan's white.

"Target."

Yami's red eyes locked onto Rian, she only went after him. She used her hair to create a large palm, she sent the white ball towards Rian…it tore through the air like a fast bullet.

[Zooom!!!]

The ball was made by Lala, it was quite strong.

"…"

Rian reacted to the volleyball bullet, he had reacted to faster things before. He slightly shifted his position, lowered his body, and raised his arms before the the ball was inches away from him.

[Whoosh]

Rian used his strength to send the ball into the sky, it went into the sky like a reversing drop of rain.

"Nana!"

Rian placed his palms together and slightly crouched his body…

"Coming!!"

Nana could jump and hit the ball before it hit the ground, but she decided to listen to Rian. Nana jumped on the high school boy's hand, he sent her into the air, she was pretty light to him.

[Bang!]

"Bang!"

Nana copied the sound her hand made when the ball came in contact with her open palm.

[Whoosh]

"Whoosh!"

Rian copied the sound the ball made as it tore apart the air…

"Unnecessary…"

Yami used her hair to block the ball that was sent to her side, she caught the ball and threw it back over the net.

Neither Rian or Nana went after it, they slapped their hands together in synch

"You gave up?"

Yami asked after seeing the ball touch the sand. Yami slightly grinned before hiding it with her hair. Her body shook from behind her hair, anyone could tell she was laughing to herself.

"Sigh! We lost Yami…you caught the ball."

Mikan sat on the ground and let her hands touch the sand.

"…"

Yami's body stopped shaking the instant she heard "We lost" from her teammate. Yami raised her hair from her mouth and covered her face.

"Red Yami appeared."

Rian caught Yami's face before she hide it, he started to laugh to himself.

"Yami, it's alright."

Mikan comforted the golden haired girl, Yami's face was sealed away by her hair. She slowly turned her head towards Rian, she turned her hand into a sharp weapon before pointing it a the laughing high school boy.

Despite her voiceless threats of violence, the boy continued to laugh.

"…"

Yami undid her hand transformation, she waited a few moments before removing her hair seal.

"My apologies Mikan."

Yami said with her usual cool expression…

"Don't worry about it Yami."

Mikan shook her hands side to side with a smile on her face.

"No, I must worry about it…we will go again."

Yami didn't like this feeling of losing, she assumed Mikan didn't like it either.

"No, No…it's really alright Yami."

Mikan touched her friends shoulders, she really wasn't upset.

"…Really?"

"Yes, yes."

Mikan quickly agreed.

"…Very well."

Yami listened to Mikan, she pulled a plum out of no where. The plum was wrapped in a napkin, it was still unharmed. The golden haired smiled without her knowledge, she remembered a particular scene in the past after seeing the napkin lightly coated with sand.

"Hmmm? Yami! That's the biggest smile I have ever seen you have make!"

Mikan pointed out Yami's smile the instant she saw it, it was beautiful and award winning…

"…"

Yami's hair covered her part of her mouth like hands, she blocked Mikan vision.

"What! Yami…show me it again."

"Munch! Munch! Munch!"

Red Yami already finished her plum, she pulled out another before walking towards the blue sea.

"…"

Mikan followed behind the golden haired girl, she looked for any gaps to see her smile. Yami blocked her vision with her golden hair.

"Yami, just one more time."

"…"

Red Yami stopped for a moment, she slighly moved her hair for a brief moment before walking again.

"Ehh! I didn't get to see it."

Mikan really wished she took a better look at it the first time…

"Munch! Mikan…Munch!! Me… Munch!…Sea."

Parts of Yami's hair pointed to the area of sea floaties with people, Risa had just fliped Haruna out of a tire floatie.

Yami put her hair down, the smile was now gone.

"Sigh!"

Mikan sighed…she really hoped she would see the smile again.

"We are coming too!"

Rian ran with Nana, they were carrying coolers in their hands…

"Alrig-…"

Mikan was about to agree before she saw the smile return again. She stayed silent and carefully watched the golden haired girl, Yami felt Mikan's gaze.

"???"

Yami didn't realize she was smiling, she even emitted a golden glow with many traces of pink around her, only Mikan could see it right now.

[Snap]

"I should save that in the files"

Rian took a picture of the smiling girl before shutting off his phone.

"Come on, lets go"

Rian jogged off with the cooler, Nana followed behind.

"…"

Yami touched her face…

"…"

[Poof!]

If this was a tv show, Yami's head would have poofed with red and white smoke, red Yami appeared again today.

[Snap!]

"You're giving me alot of photo's today Yami."

Rian put up away his phone before jogging back to Nana.

"…"

"…"

"Y-Yami."

Mikan raised her hands.

"…"

Red Yami's hand turned into a blade, she ran after the jogging high school boy.
