Chapter Fifty: Treasure Hunt

"Lets do this!"

Lala felt extremely excited, she was holding a map to a treasure. It had big red words on it "Find One Piece"

"A treasure map?"

Nana looked at the map Lala hand raised in her hands.

"…Sister, that's a children's map."

Momo said with a stiff smile while looking at her eldest sister.

Currently, Mikan, Rian, Lala, Momo, Celine, and Nana were sitting at a table of six in a family restaurant. They had finished eating and paid, Celine was given a treasure map by a waiter before departing.

Celine and Lala looked at the treasure map with curious eyes, Lala eyes shined when she realized what it was. She held up the map high in the air and suggested that everyone do it together.

"Lets do it."

Rian said while getting out of the chair and picking up Celina. Rian was waiting for his game to fully download, he had time to spend on something else.

"Mao!"

Celina agreed as well and sat on Rian's shoulder.

"…Me too. I need to burn off this fat."

Nana rubbed her flat stomach and shook her head.

"Heh…it's not going anywhere."

Momo said in a voice that only the six at the table would hear.

"What was that?"

Nana asked in a calm voice, her face was anything but calm.

"…I said lets go."

Momo agreed and got up from the seat.

All five of then looked towards the one who had yet to agree.

"Sigh! Alright."

Mikan got up from the seat and went with the five…

They exited the restaurant…

The outside of the restaurant was quite large, it was surrounded by wood they creaked when you stepped to hard.

"Peke! Costume change!"

Lala felt this adventure needed a little change.

"Yes, Lala-Sama."

Peke quickly swapped Lala's current outfit with a brown overcoat and a brown hat, she even had a white candy cigar. She gave the map to Nana, detectives don't read for themselves unless they found it themselves. She crossed her arms and stood in front of everyone with closed eyes.

Nana was a little shocked at current Lala, she seemed more mature.

"Go ahead…Nana."

Lala licked the candy cigar after saying.

"R-Right…"

Nana said before beginning to read the small text at the bottom.

"Ahemm…From here, the true advent-"

"Pfft!"

Momo laughed, she couldn't hold it in.

"Why are you laughing?!"

Red Nana was close to hitting her sister…

"I wa-was laughing at something else."

Momo said while laughing.

"…"

Nana decided to ignore her sister's muffled laughs and continue to read.

"From here, the true adventure begins…fifty creaks from here to there is where you shall find your first clue. Once chosen wrong, you must give up on blue."

Lala nodded and began walking, the creaks of wood sounded under her feet

"Hmmmm…I see."

Lala said…it seemed she figured out the trick.

"Sister…this is a children's map, it should be this easy."

Momo thought this hunt would end soon.

"That's where your wrong Momo."

Lala walked back towards the area where the treasure map began, she placed her foot on the creaky wood.

"This wood is tightly packed together and thin, when you step on it with your foot…you hit two pieces of wood instead of one."

Lala crouched down…

"To fix this…you just use your fingers"

Lala poked the thin slabs of wood with two fingers.

[Creak] [Creak]

This simple thing had often made people mis-count their steps and their creakes.

It seems this creaking wood was made just to trick people.

"…"

Nana and Momo were blown away, how did she find that out from walking a few meters away?

"Good job Lala."

Rian walked up with Celine and Mikan, he didn't look surprised at all.

"Good job."

"Mao!"

"Ehehehehehe! Thank you!"

Lala laughed before going back to detective Lala mode.

"One…ten…thirty….fifty."

When Lala reached the fifty creak, she applied more force than the others, the thin piece of wood fliped up in the air and revealed some text on the center point of the wood.

"Congrats, you found the first clue…good for you. When thrown well, any shot can be made. When thrown high, any target could be hit. If you don't believe me, just ask his modern day deciption.

Momo read was it said, she was clearly invested now.

"Pfft!"

Nana started laughing

"Doesn't work on me Nana."

Momo shook her head

"…"

Nana stopped laughing.

"Mao! Mao!"

"You're right Celine, lets go."

Lala nodded at Celine's words and walked around the building with the five, at the back of the building there stood a statue. It was a large depiction of a man riding a horse. The man leaned back in on his horse and slighly tipped back his hat.

"Oh, this is pretty easy."

Rian said while picking a rock from a ground, he leaned down a little bit before throwing it under the slightly tipped hat.

[Clink]

The rock hit somehing, a key fell from the hat and onto the ground.

[Ting]

"Can you give me a chance!"

Nana wanted to do something as well.

"No."

Rian said while walking over to the key, it looked new. Attached to the key was a hanging blue note.

"This key is very valuable while also not. If you aren't sure what to do, give it to someone who understands this clue…they often stand out in different shades of blue.

Mikan leaned over her crouching brother's shoulder and read outloud.

"Should we ask a manager?"

Mikan's suggestion seemed to be the answer, shouldn't the manager knows what is happening around the place they overlook?

They listened to her words and went back inside, the manager was already waiting. The manager stood out. He wore blue while every other worker had brown.

"Follow me this way."

The manager turned around and went towards the manager only section. The group of six followed the man dressed in blue. They turned many corners berfore arriving at a door. It had a key hole in the middle of it.

"Here,Nana."

Rian gave the key to the glancing girl next to him, she clearly wanted to open the door.

"…Thanks."

Nana politely took the key and strutted over to the door, she put the key inside and twisted.

[Click]

The door clicked open and opened on its own…

Everyone walked in…

"Ah…what is this."

Momo's smile twitched.

"A lifetime supply of all you can eat coupons."

The manager looked at all the coupons he collected over the years, he no longer needed them since he worked here now.

They were his treasure…

"Now…it is yours."

The manager wiped a real tear from his eye.

"…"

A grown man shed many tears over lost coupons that day…
