Sober Up

By the time Janet finished her tell-tale about Brits, Kai felt the most motivated to put a call through to Jake.

He picked up his mobile device from the side of his pants.

''What are you doing?''

Janet asked from studying him grab up his phone for some obvious activity. 

The outside cold had gotten more brutal than she'd prepared for. So, she quickly buttoned up her shirt before snuggling her knees up to her chest. She buried her hands inside her thighs.

Now that she'd assumed that pose, she shifted her eyes to study Kaiden some more.

''Are you trying to reach out to someone?''

''Obviously.''

''Okay.''

Kaiden hurriedly clicked on the dial button.

''Calling Jake I suppose?''

''Yeah.'' He replied her absentmindedly.

She gave up her will to push any further and redirected her gaze in view of the constellation of stars instead.
