Chapter:13

"Are you listening." Evelyn said as I snapped back to reality.

"That's my bad I had something on my mind. What did you say?" I asked while looking at her.

'We haven't really met I've just went to see your games before." She replied with a smile.

"Yeah I was in the States for vacation and decided to join with my cousin. Anyway how long have you been playing ball." I said.

"I started around 7 with my dad teaching me. Played all through Middle School I plan on playing here too" She said. I was gonna reply when I heard the door open.

I turned towards it when I saw a blur and someone barreled into me with a hug.

"Mel I told you to stop doing that." I said with a smirk before smiling.

"Mom told me to come check when we're leaving, since your not answering your phone." She said with a smirk.

"Shit my bad I turned it off for practice." I said embarrassed as I turned it on. I turned it on before texting my mom.

"Oh, who are you." Mel said before barrelling off of me to talk to Evelyn.

"Thats our Assistant manager Evyl- " I started to say before getting interrupted.

"You can call me Eve, Evelyn's a mouthful." She said before turning back to Mel. They started to talk as I texted my mom.

When I finished I put my phone away intending to join the conversation. That's when I felt someone tap my shoulder.

Turning around i looked into Kyo's face already knowing what he wanted.

"Play me 1v1 to 21, 2s and 3s ( same scoring system as a normal game inside the three point line 2 outside 3)." He asked the same question he'd repeated for the last few weeks.

"You don't ever get tired of losing" I said with a mocking grin.

"Nope, because I'm gonna win this one". He said before getting up and going to the three.

"Threes till one of us misses for ball." I said before shooting and splashing a three. We kept repeating that till my shot clanked off the rim.

Checking with him I was about to start when I had an idea.

"Let's just play king of the court ( basically 1v1 but if you score the person guarding you gets off the court)." I said before asking if the other players are up for it. They all agreed so me and Kyo started it off.

Third person pov: Teiko Middle School

"Akashi why'd you call me" Aomine said with a yawn. He had just arrived in the class where Akashi usually stayed.

Akashi looked up before motioning towards a screen. On the screen the ending of the finals from last year played.

"How would you feel about visiting the school where that player plays." Akashi said as a player showed up bypassing all of Teikos defenses.

"Why are you suddenly bringing him up." Aomine said seemingly indifferent, but you could see a flash of excitement in using eyes.

"Karasuno Middle School sent an invitation for next week. To come play a practice match. Coach told me to come pick a few to play." Akashi said while waving a paper.

"Of course I'm not gonna send all of us but I thought you would want to go. Last time he came up you showed interest so I felt like I should extend it to you." He continued

Aomine looked at him intently before turning around and starting to walk out. Not before answering though as he said.

"Alright, I'll go just send some scrubs with me. It's not like Karasuno can stop me." Aomine said confidence oozing off of him.

A week later: Karasuno

"Today were gonna have a different practice. I've requested a practice match with a few players from the reigning champ." Coach Evergreen said before motioning to the door.

'Wait reigning champs no way.' I thought before the walked in. Arrogance reverberated from their very being, like they saw themselves as kings. It wasn't the starting five but I recognized some of them as bench players.

That's when he walked in Blue spiky hair, trademark smirk and lazy unfocused eyes.

"Daiki Aomine." I said as I moved forward towards him. The anger I had almost forgotten spiked up once again. The humiliation I felt last time resurfaced.

I felt someone put a hand on my shoulder. Turning to my right I was met with Hayama looking at me with the same look. I could tell he had felt a fair amount of embarrassment from them.

I looked back at Aomine before going to the bleachers and sitting down. Mel was there with us and she looked at me with a worried look.

I could tell Eve hadn't seen this side of me as I was usually laid back. She looked at me with a bit of concern on her face as she watched me clench my fists.

The coach that came with the players walked over to Coach to talk. They conversed for a bit before Coach Evergreen called us over.

"This will be the starting 5 for this scrimmage there will be two teams. One with Nes and Oliver starting the second with Hayama And DJ. The reason I'm doing this is two pit both Hayama and Nes against Aomine. I want to see how well you do against him." He said

First team:

Nes: At Point Guard ( In games until Suya gets there he'll play point)

Josiah the twin: At Shooting Guard

Jeremiah: At Small forward

Oliver: At Power Forward

And Marcos at: Center

Substitute: Brayden and DJ

-----------------------------------------------------------

Second team which will come in at half time after a short break:

Hayama: Point Guard

DJ:At Shooting guard

Josiah: At Small forward

Marcos: At Power Forward

And Brayden: At center

Substitute: Second twin Jeremiah, and Oliver.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Depending on fatigue the teams could interchange." Coach said before we started warming up.

We started with a few layup lines to warm up. We made sure not to tire ourselves out before the game by going 100 percent.

That's when we heard our Coach blow the whistle to start the tip off.

Marcos got ready to jump and the whistle sounded as he leaped and got it.

I grabbed the ball as Aomine moved up to gaurd me.
