The two girls walked along a gravel road and with each step they took there was a satisfying crunch, it would be around mid-noon with the flare taking its time to go under the horizon as they treaded Laus couldn't help but stare at the woman "Deus" she had never seen a royal or noble before especially around here or if Deus was even a noble at all, her chain of thought was broken when Deus had stopped being ahead of her. "let's stop at that lake I could use a bit of washing, so could you" she said pointing in the distance. Lacus couldn't see a lake maybe she was just too short she thought to herself. "O-Ok", Lacus believed that it would take a while to get to the lake but in an instant, there was a lake in front of them this confused her greatly, so much that she fell on her bottom, she looked around there was a lake directly in front of her with it being sealed off in a wall of dense woodland.
Deus nonchalantly walked to the lake stripping and proceeding to enter it, Lacus couldn't help but stare, she had silky-smooth pale skin and no imperfections to speak of, and her hair was so polished it reflected in the water tenfold her proportions were beyond femininely that would make any man fall head over heels.
"Well, are you coming?" Deus said elegantly as almost as if she didn't mean to
"u-uh yeah" Lacus stripped as well and entered the lake, she was nervous and was wondering where she would go once she and Deus departed ways Lacus Looked toward Deus Breifley before staring back at the pond. "So what was that was it teleportation magic?" she said nervously trying to fill the awkwardness she felt, Deus was washing herself and her dress without looking toward Lacus she said, "I do not know the only thing I do know was that I had seen this lake once before and I had thought about coming here, so now we are here," Deus said softly, Lacus turned to Deus "oh...Well if that's the case could you please take me to my village Usha?! I know we just met and you saved me and I also have no right to ask, but could you save the people there!?,with your magic, you could do what you did to me and bring them here where it's safe!" Lacus said desperately.
"I will take you to your village" Hearing that Lacus's eyes shinned just as bright as a flare"Thank you-". "But that is all your people's fate is up to them" just as quickly as her eyes beamed they disappeared returning to worry and despair, there was a brief silence "oh. but if that's the case why did you save me?"
"I did not you only happen to be in the right place at the right time", Deus replied Coldy
"Oh. I see well thank you for saving but can you take me to my village now!" Lacus said with boldness in her voice, "I will".

Sometime later Village Usha, the inner wall
"Get the woman and children to the shelter!" one man shouted
"They're gonna breach the inner Wall! there are just too many of them!" another shouted
Chaos and suspicion walked throughout the village troops were running to the inner wall in one direction with women and children running in the other, beyond the inner wall flames danced amongst charred buildings with innumerable bodies dead or alive being consumed by the fire if it was not that then goblins, they captured women and killed the men to slow to make it to the inner wall, they bashed themselves and climbed on top of each like mindless drones, either to knock the gate down or go over it those who did make it over the wall where picked off by the guards who welded metal spears and wore thin metal armor spread throughout their body.
A man in full metal armor steadily made his way to the gate where he knew the countless goblins would breach in seconds, on his persons he wore much equipment whether it be on his waist or back, and he had a sword hosted on his side.
Just as he predicted the gate was first to fall, hundreds of goblins rushed through the gate entering the last part of the still-defended village if they fell so would village Usha, the man drew his sword dashing at an incredible speed slaying countless goblins that had made their way in, behind him where at least 200 men charging it had seemed as though his efforts gave the men much-needed courage, with his efforts they were able to drive back the goblins back to the inner gate only sustaining 2 casualties in the push.
The man in full armor climbed on the inner gate and turned around facing back to the village and his men "Hear me we will not fall we will drive them back to the hole they crawled out of we will free the women and seek revenge for our fallen brethren!" he said in a deep and raspy voice, his words riled his men making them chant a war cry "For Usha!, For Usha!" "The empire might have abandoned us but we will not abandon them!" "For Ush!For Usha!" "For, Usha!, Charge!".
The man jumped over the wall a fall that would surely cripple or kill any other person but seemed to not have affected him, he used the momentum from the fall to dash forward to the outer village slaying any goblin he came across, as he continued to dash throughout the village he glanced to his right barley seeing a mom and daughter holding each other petrified, as he stopped to look he can see why an orc, it was holding a man missing his upper torso presumably the duo's father and husband the orc threw the mans body to the ground making a nauseating thud this made the woman and girl cry out even more.
The orc was about 12 feet tall had a massive belly and was wearing crude armor it also wielded a wooden club, and it reached out to them only to get distracted "Leave Them Alone!" the man said as he scrambled to the orc, he swung his sword making a gash on the outer leg of the orc making it cry out, the man then looked to the mother and daughter "Get out of here now! Go!" the two sped away as he put his attention back to the orc he saw a club racing towards him, with only moments to spare he blocked the attack with his sword the amount of force from the blow pushed him back but he was still standing, the orc didn't give him rest though as it raised its other leg to kick him hurling him into a nearby home as he crashed through the brick wall.
He moaned in pain from the attack but quickly got back up to his feet, he took out a sack from his side pouch and dashed out of the home from whence he came, he reached inside the pouch and pulled out 3 balls each small enough to be held with 4 fingers, the orc raised its club to hit him, the man slid under the orc's legs being missed by the club he quickly got on his feet and threw the 3 balls to the ground, on impact the balls made dense white smoke appear, still using the advantage of being behind the beast he jumped on its back, stabbing it repeatedly in the neck trying to pierce the thick flesh of the orc, the orc responded by howling in pain and falling on its back to crush the man, with moments to spare he jumped from the orc using its height and his abnormal strength to propel himself in the air he quickly turned to look at the orc, while still mid-air he pulled out his bow and 3 arrows with an unusual tip that looked tube liked, he aimed then fired, the arrows soared down to the orc who was still laying on its back.
As soon as the arrows hit 3 small explosions engulfed the orc, the man crashed back down to the ground gradually getting up, while coughing blood seeped through the cracks of his helmet, his once pristine silver armor was now battered with dents scratches and cracks all over, "G-Good riddance" the man said in a raspy and tired voice. As he limped away unknown to him the orc quietly picked up its club And then dashed toward him sensing this he leaped out of the way tucking and rolling while onto one knee he pulled out 5 more arrows and shot it at the orc 5 more small explosions then engulfed the orc, once the smoke cleared he could that the orc had lost both of its legs and was missing a good portion of its side. not wanting to take any second chances he pulled out his sword climbed on the belly of the beast and sawed its head off, blood now flowing throughout the village's dirt paths, the man let out a deep breath "and stay down."

Outskirts of Village Usha
Lacus pushed her small body as much as she could to reach the outer wall she could hear the explosions coming from the village as she had now eventually approached the now burnt-down outer wall she saw hoards of goblins surrounding something not wanting to get their attention she quickly crouched behind some rubble but smelt something putrid to her horror there was a pile of bodies decaying to the right of her not far off, this sight made her wince letting out a whimpered "eek" this caught the attention of the goblins she was trying to avoid.
They rapidly approached her once they had reached her location they found..nothing, Lacus used the small opening to see what the goblins were surrounding, and she saw a cart full of women all naked and bruised, she had over-heard stories from the adults when wondering the village that goblins would often kidnap women and would use them to breed since there were no female goblins.
She then ran over and gently knocked on the bars to get the women's attention "hey do you know where they put the keys" Lacus said quietly no one answered they all looked soulless, that was until one of the women made her way forward "Lacus is that you?" Lacus couldn't see who it was because of how crowded the cart was but she knew the voice it was Abby."Abby is that you?" "yes it is, what are you doing here? you should run it's dangerous here!"
"I came here to save you all, I need the keys before the goblins come back! please hurry could you tell me if you've seen them?!"
"well it's dangerous but I saw one of them had a key chain on its waist."
"Ok please wait here ill come back for you all I promise."
Lacus swiftly made her way back to cover as the goblins were now coming back from the noise she had made earlier, she carefully scouted each one of them looking for the key chain after a while she finally saw it was on a small one who wielded a dagger and wore rages that looked like a makeshift man-skirt, she needed to somehow distract the group and separate the small one.
She quickly made her way behind some more rubble and picked up a rock she tossed it as far as she could to distract the goblins, just as she thought the small one lagged behind the rest, once the main group got far enough away she made a noise only the small one could hear by smacking to small pebbles into each other repeatedly. Once She gained the small ones' attention she silently moved out of the way once the goblin finished investigating and turned around she quickly snagged the key-chain but to her surprise, it took more effort than she thought it would, this gained the goblins' attention its made a loud screech.
This startled her but she quickly grabbed a rock and bashed it as hard as she could against the goblin's head this made it lose its balance and the two fell to the ground causing the two got into a scuffle she was trying as hard as she could to snatch the key-chain but the goblin used its dagger and sliced her arm causing her to squeal in pain, before the goblin got up she used the rock and bashed its hand this time, the attack made the goblin drop the dagger
She quickly reached for the dagger and stabbed the goblin in the neck with all her might causing it to gargle on its own blood, Lacus snatched the key chain and raced back to the cart she was holding her arm, blood slowly running down it she fumbled with the keys knowing that she would only have seconds left before the main group of goblins returned.
"I'm back hurry get ready to run! they'll be back any second now" she said in a frantic terrified voice, she finally was able to unlock the cart the women poured out of it "hurry go to the forest it's safe there everything else is flooded with goblins!" once the last woman got out of the cart she noticed Abby standing next to her.
"What are you doing go to the forest?!"
"And then what about you?"
"ill go see if anyone else needs help!"
"Then ill go to i. I mean how would I look if I let a little girl go through all that danger by herself after freeing me from goblins? if you could do it so could I" Abby said sarcastically trying to lighten the dire situation
"Well o-" before Lacus could finish she saw the herd of goblins rushing them
"Oh no there here run Abb-" Abby tackled her to the ground covering Lacus entire's body with hers before Lacus could process what had happed she was slowly getting stained in blood she looked over to Abby's back and saw 3 large arrows that were poking out, the goblins rushed over and violently threw Abby body to the side like trash.
Lacus's eyes filled with tears and despair "W-What going on here?." she said softly.
The man in armor made his way throughout the village going house to house in search of anyone who was left behind, he would find stragglers mostly the village elders who were too weak to leave their homes or young children who were separated from their parents early into the siege, he would gather them into groups and then have a few of his men escort them into the inner wall were they could hopefully meet up with loved ones, or have a moment of peace to mourn.
The man looked around he saw carnage all around him while he was no stranger to seeing death he had never witnessed it on such a scale till now every corner he took there was always at least one body, he had a few skirmishes with some goblins throughout the town but it was nothing he couldn't handle, he had noticed that he was finally running into fewer goblins, "great" he thought to himself, but this could either mean one of two things he knew that the goblins would either gather for one final push or they had retreated into the one's woodlands if it was the first one that could be a problem as they could hit a weak spot in the village defenses, or them fleeing was also a problem as they could harass the village long after the siege was over.
While he was processing the possible outcomes he heard a cry not far from him it sounded like someone needed help he made a full sprint toward the sound.

Outskirts of village Usha
Lacus's mind was moving a thousand miles a minute she couldn't believe what was unfolding before her, she was just talking to Abby but now she lay dead on the ground with arrows protruding out her back she couldn't help but let out a cry about her current predicament, she had witnessed so much in such little time from her village burning to not knowing whether or not her friends where still alive to being kidnapped to now, it was all too much for her still maturing mind to handle.
The goblins approached rapidly; one of them grabbed her by the wrist forcing her to stand it dragged her to the cart from whence she had just freed the women it lifted her to throw her in the cart but to her surprise, it suddenly let go of her; she landed on her bottom getting a few scratches and cuts along the way,
She looked up and noted that the goblin no longer had its head it plunged to the ground making a grotesque thud; she had no time to process what was happening as at record-breaking speed she saw all of the surrounding goblins drop dead hundreds of them each missing a head she had no idea of what could have happened.
Deus was walking towards Lacus, Lacus's back faced Deus so she had no idea someone was approaching her from behind, Deus was eerily quiet as she approached Lacus; It was as if she wasn't touching the ground with each step she took, Lacus surely would have detected if someone was coming with how on-edge she was at the moment.
"It feels good to see you again Lacus." Lacus shuttered at the comment he quickly turned around to see the voice that had uttered to her; her pent-up tension faded though as soon as she saw Deus looking directly into her eyes.
Wanting someone to comfort her and to hold her like a baby she ran towards Deus only being thigh high she embraced her now feeling protected like how a cub would that had been separated from the pack, she had never felt so scared in her entire life before, Lacus's thoughts where streaming in her head, she had never known mother since she had died giving birth to her and a father had died while serving in the village guard, the village folk would always take care of she was known as the girl that would always want to explore beyond the walls or in some way shape or form help the village the best way she could.
Snapping back to reality she realized what she was doing; she was always jealous of the kids that ran to their parents whenever something went wrong like them getting lost or hurt she wasn't thinking right at that moment when she ran to embrace her she only saw a familiar face and instinctively did the same, she slowly backed away fidgeting with her hands embarrassed of what she had done.
" Ah...Sorry." she shyly said, Deus only stood there staring at Lacus with a blank facial expression Lacus looked back up at her hoping for some sort of approval but to her dismay, she wasn't giving it, she thought Deus was upset with her but she couldn't be further from the truth.
"Not to sound ungrateful or anything but why are you here...the last time I saw you you said you wouldn't help?"
"You made me change my mind...Seeing you so boldly state to me to bring you back to this village; to then witness you help your people in the face of danger even though you are so weak, that is what brought me here Lacus"
"So you were...Watching me?"
"Yes"
"Eh!?"
Although their reunion was cut short as they heard heavy footsteps rapidly approaching them, in a flash a man in tattered armor threw dust in Deus's face thinking he blinded her he grabbed Lacus in his arms and tucked and rolled using his forward momentum to break out in a sprint, the man's mind was absolutely racing he knew the solution he threw at that monster wouldn't hold it off for long.
He couldn't believe it what was a being like that doing here? was it the one who was controlling the attack? but why attack such a small village? was it a demon? a forgotten race? his mind was livid. he could feel that soul-crushing aura it emitted he knew he knew he had zero chance of facing that thing his best shot was to get as far away as possible and alert the rest of the village to evacuate and tell them that the village had been lost.
He was so lost in thought he had no idea Lacus was yelling at him to get his attention
"I know you're scared calm down I'll find some way to get you out of here," he said in a ragged voice tired with some underlying fear the man in general had a somewhat deep voice so the pressure of the situation didn't help make his words anymore clear.
"No that's not it!" she said while struggling to break free of the man's arm's she knew who he was he was somewhat famous the people of the village gave him the nickname the armored hero; he would always be around to help with a mundane task like cleaning the streets to volunteering to take up extremely dangerous missions, he had earned the respect of the entire village and the fact that he always wore full metal armor never taking it off only helped more to certify his iconic stature.
While he was running he screeched to a halt and put Lacus down, "Can you do...me a favor run back as fast as you can to the inner wall and alert everyone"
"Wait I need to tell you something"
He had stopped listening he knew that thing was closing in the distance in an instant he felt it come closer his heart skipped a beat as he was only able to barely see a blur rush to him following his instinct his body moved faster than what his brain could process he felt a massive gust that had knocked him to the ground, a fist was in the space his head would have been the shockwave was so powerful it had knocked down several structures in front it where the fist was aimed.
He could see the being that was chasing them now Long white hair and royal blue eyes, he was no fool he knew that sometimes beings would take on attractive appearances to make themself look weak installing a sense of weakness in itself to catch their opponents off guard and then strike like a predator hidden in the trees.
He got up fast he had to get out of this situation in someway somehow; he reached into his pouch and grabbed his last two remaining dust solutions they were shaped like balls that would explode on contact blinding the opponent he threw them aiming at Deus's eyes, but to his dismay, she had caught them both with one hand and crushed them making the powder slowly fly out her hand she rubbed her hand in on itself as if she where taunting him.
"Give Me a Break" he mumbled to himself; in blinding speed, she was already in front of him she grabbed him by his neck tightly, picking him up about four inches above the ground, he used his strength to bash her arm that was holding him in hopes to cause her to buckle but it seemed he was hurting himself more then he was her, he could see her face clearly he looked in her eyes and even though he was wearing a helmet he felt her gaze look into his this started him greatly.
Deus raised him a little more and threw him into one of the homes nearby as if he had weighed like nothing, he crashed into the homes although he got up fairly quickly. He could feel the flight or fight response kick in like a raging bull, if he wasn't so focused on the moment he would most definitely collapse from the sheer amount of pain coursing through him.
"You shouldn't be alive right now." He could only scoff at the comment "Ya don't say!" he tried to stand up straight but once he did he felt a sharp pain pierce the side of him he looked down and saw a large piece of wood sticking out from his side if it wasn't for his armor he knew this would most definitely be fatal, he broke a piece of it off leaving some of it in he knew if he took the entire thing out he would bleed to death.
He looked back up to see the girl staring at her hand opening it and closing it as if something was wrong, he used this opportunity and comedically limped away quietly he had no idea of where that little girl had gone he could only hope that she followed his instructions and warned the village by now.
Deus looked up at the man she saw him trying to get away she didn't know why but when she saw him snatch Lacus away from her that made her feel some type of way that she couldn't describe the only thing she did know was that she didn't like what he had did.
Deus blitzed him tackling him on the ground where she was on top of him, "I didn't think you would fall for me so fast" he said coughing, Deus had no idea what he meant by this she only stared at him for a while "Whoa creepy" he said sarcastically, in truth on the surface he looked calm and ready but inside it couldn't be further from the truth he was running every method he possibly could in his head to distract from fear that was approaching him soon to engulf him.
But every scenario he ran didn't pan out well for him, now that she was so close to him he could feel the aura she was emitting before it was soul-crushing but now he couldn't even comprehend it he wasn't too adept at feeling or reading auras but he could feel this it felt like his mind would break if he tried too.
"Till I Collapse," he said before he cocked his arm as much as he could he punched her dead center in the face as hard as he could muster"ignite!" once he spoke those words a powerful stream of fire came forth from his fist that was still planted on her face the heat was intense the flames completely engulfed Deus's head singeing a part of her gold trimmed collar.
Once the flames died down Deus looked at him...Unfazed still holding that blank expression it was as if she didn't even notice that her head was engulfed in flames just a moment before.
Deus slowly raised her hand bringing it back she formed a fist and was getting ready to return the favor, he saw this and he knew that this blow at this range would most certainly end him at this point he was running on fumes he had no more tricks that he could use to form a distraction, he in-vainly started to wildly swing at her, she cocked her fist back more slowly but surely.
"W-What Deus...Stop!" a voice from afar said it was Lacus she was slowly running towards them she looked extremely tired covered in sweat and bruises her brown tunic dress tattered and shuttered with each step.
The armored hero was the first to notice Lacus but Deus somehow didn't, "What are you doing here kid get away!" he couldn't believe that the girl actually came back putting herself in danger he was barely able to even muster those words his voice sounded dry and raspy like a tunnel that had a slight breeze making a howling sound.
He wasn't paying attention but at that time Deus had slammed her fist only inches away from his head the impact left a large crater, he only heard the impact but it was a deafening sound he was totally stunned he couldn't process that he would have been dead just like that in an instant .
Deus got off of him and walked towards Lacus as if nothing had happened, "Why did you tell me that?"
"B-Because he was only trying to h-help," Lacus said panting "It's all a big m-misunderstanding"
"oh"
