Part 27

Norix was snapped out of his glaring and looked at madam Qui with a raised brow. "What is it?"

Madam Qui smiled. "You see. Clara wants to have a baby with you."

Norix froze in shock. He looks over at Clara, and she was looking at him with a small smile. Norix was looking at both of them back and forth, then he looked at Clara. "You want a baby?"

Clara nodded with a smile, but her smile dropped when Norix looked at her with no emotion and left the room.

Clara smiled sadly. Madam Qui was furious but hugged Clara as she silently wept. "Aw, dear, don't worry. I'm sure Norix will come around. I'll give him a piece of my mind. Not only that, but I didn't raise him to be an ass!" Madam Qui exclaimed like she was the one who got rejected.

"It's alright, madam Qui. I still want to be in that class, though." Clara managed to smile again.

Madam Qui nodded and huge her again.

Clara sighed as she was outside the witch's door. She knocked on the door and after a few moments later, Kois opened the door. He has hair as white as snow, a young child-like face, and hazel eyes. "Are you Clara?"

Clara nodded. "I am, I wanted to-"

"Thank the heavens! Come! Finally, I have an acquaintance." He drags her inside his lair. It was all filled with ancient spell cooks, wands, staffs, drawing, and potions. "Do you know how long I've been waiting to have a partner in this bewitched lab! I'm so lonely and I would be dying." Kois complained and brought up a chair and made Clara sit.

He took out another chair and sat in front of her. "You're here to be a healer. Am I correct?"

Clara nodded. "Yes. I want to help healing after the kingdom wars."

He tilted his head. "That's specific, huh? I imagine that, you're head over heels for one of the assassins. Well, that's actually great. You get to learn a lot of stuff here." He stood up and grabbed a spell book. "I want to test you first. Recite one healing spell in your head. If you can heal me, then I'll let you in."

Clara was still processing everything he said as he handed her the book. She stood up and opened a random page on the book. Page 501, the Divine's sacred life healing spell.

Kois took a knife on his table and made a giant slit on his left arm. Clara read the spell in her thoughts. She directed her palm to the wound and closed her eyes just like the spell book instructed. After two seconds, she opened her eyes and the wound was gone, like it was n't even there in the first place.

She looked at Kois and his jaw was open. "W-wait. What...the...oh my word!" he said in excitement as he started to jump around. He rejoiced and casted another spell. A white aura began to emit from his body and he collapsed to the ground, crying.

Clara was shocked. Everything happened so suddenly. She crouched down to help him up but he immediately stood up again and hugged Clara like there was no tomorrow.

"You don't know how much I owe my life to you, Master Clara!" Clara was beginning to think that he has gone insane. Kois was now on the floor, bowing.

At the meeting table, every assassin was present and so were Theon, Hosa, and Norix.

Theon scratched his chin as he tries to think. "Sindon was as an ally before...how can we know that we're going to be attacked by them?"

Hosa snapped his fingers. "Let's send a spy."

Norix grumbled. "Tomorrow, there would be a caravan of food supplies arriving at Sindon. I suggest a female assassin would be the best option."

Theon nodded. "You're right. A man would be too obvious."

Hosa shook his head. "Hear me out. Let's send one of the maidens of the kingdom."
