C7: The Letter - p2

Nothing evades my way in the empty alley. No dragon. No drones. No guards.

I run across it swifter than a cheetah to reach the end of that road. The tallest tower in the middle of the castle is where the princess's chambers are.

Soon as the guards return, the disappearance of their mana-negation dragon would cause quite a commotion in the alley among the knights.

'Show the time I have left until my invisibility runs out of effect,' I order the system.

[Time remaining: 18 minutes, 45 seconds]

Gladly, I had taken two drops of the invisibility potion before entering the castle.

Two guards stand in the alleyway before me, even taller than the previous Magi Knights I have met before. They have spiraling horns in their helmets, and a body more buff than a bull.

'Minotaurs?' I ask myself, leaping right above them.

My stealth level stats are higher than level 30. Even magical beings would not be able to capture me if their stealth levels aren't equal or above mine.

"Easy," I murmur, rushing up a tall white staircase.

Two guards pass me, but they do not even catch a whiff of my being there. A leaf floats into the air, and one of them turns to the other.

"It's windy today, weird." He says to the guard.

"Yeah, I just felt like a cold breeze touched me." The other replies.

I smirk, reaching the very top of the stairs.

Not even noticing, I've already reached the middle of the castle where the tallest tower is.

A few silver oaks in the garden stands still, unmoving. Not a single breeze touches the field of grass, or the trees. It's an eerie stillness there.

'Hm, weird.' I think to myself, gazing around the tower.

No more guards are there. There are so many surrounding the alleys, but why not here? I ponder, gazing up at the very peak of the tower.

'Wait –'

I freeze on the spot. My legs go numb.

There is a parallel presence along with the magical orb at the very peak of the tower, standing with his hands crossed.

He's no minotaur. He's a six-foot-tall being in black armor with red lines etched into its metal. He's different from the others.

I sense the mana he's exerting alongside the magical orb at the very peak of the tower.

'He's the same level as me.' I chuckle.

The knight doesn't even move a muscle, just like those frozen statues on the walls. He simply stands there with his arms crossed, his eyes directed right towards me.

But I know one thing.

He's unable to see me. He's simply keeping his eyes on the staircase. I slowly walk across the path right towards the door to the tower.

Nope.

The doors are locked, of course. But I'm not trying to enter right through the door.

I raise my hand towards the very top of the tower.

After I use these, my mana will decrease twofold. After using that mana domain, my mana had already decreased too much. This will leave me in a corner, but once the commotion begins down in the alleys of the castle, I can escape through this easily.

"Gravity Defier." I chant in a whisper.

[Activating… Gravity Defier.]

I place my foot on the vertical wall and stand there like I'm standing on the ground. I begin walking along the wall gradually, no hurry.

If I run, my heart rate would rise.

That knight standing on the very top would probably be able to catch me if it does. But I'm too smart for that.

Then, for my next move.

"Mana Scope." I chant once more, closing my eyes and clasping my hands together. I sense every part of the mana that envelops this building with this spell.

'A princess's room must be one protected with the most mana if this tower is separated for the princess itself. It must have a lot of mana shields, so –'

I sense three places that exert the most amount of mana. I look right ahead at the very roof of the castle. The two which exert the most amount of mana are at the top of the tower.

The Mana Orb.

The Guard.

And the third most powerful mana is exerted right from a window in the middle of the tower. With a grin, I gradually walk towards the window of the Princess's room.

'Easy.' I think to myself, leaning at the window of the princess's room.

I gaze in through the glass windows to see what it's like inside. I need to see if the bed's comfortable enough to fuck her in it.

The room is massive. There's a king size bed, which is obviously owned by a royal family member in the bed. In the room, there are several pictures of handsome men hanging on the wall. I don't recognize any of them, but none of them can beat my elven face.

"Easy," I mutter again, taking the letter out of my cloak.

ZWOOOOM! The sound of a horn booms across the castle. I shift my head, gazing at the gates of the castle. The gates are opening.

The King's parade is over. The King is returning to the castle, along with the princess.

My heart beats faster from the excitement.

I narrow my eyes, and another idea strikes me.

'The princess is coming back? If I wait here… I can confirm what the she thinks when she receives the letter. Hm, system, how many minutes until I run out of invisibility?'

[Remaining time: 5 minutes, 3 seconds.]

'Hm, I see.'

I crouch against the wooden edge of the window, sliding my letter into the room through the edge of the window. It's a thin paper, it goes through.

'Done –'

Swoosh!

I dash to the side of the wall as it graces a hair on my head. A strand of silver hair floats down from the tower as the sword sinks deep into the ground of the royal garden.

'Fuck, almost.'

I shift my head back to the knight at the peak of the tower. He's gazing right at me. He reaches his hand towards my face, and says, "Summon."

The sword materializes in his hand once again, disappearing from the garden.

"PLEASE, BE AWARE! MORGANA HAD DISAPPEARED!" An announcement echoes down the alleys of the castle. The commotion has begun. The dark knight's head turns to the alleys of the castle in shock.

"What – Reya!" He leaps off the tower from the very height he stands.

As he swiftly falls his head tilts towards me for a slight moment.

But – when his feet touches the ground, he only has one objective.

He dashes towards the alleys of the castle. "Motherfuckers! HOW DID YOU LOSE THE DRAGON??"

I feel something in his presence.

I feel like I'll meet him again soon.
