Julian couldn't allow himself to get distracted by useless things. He had homework to do. A lot of it. It wasn't hard but it was time consuming since he was taking so many classes at once. He had to get department approval to take twenty-one credits at a time but he was determined to do so in order to finish his double degree faster.
The only reason he was doing two was because he absolutely could not decide between molecular engineering and computational/applied mathematics. Other people told him to major in one and minor in another but he didn't do anything halfway. If he was going to commit, he would commit to both.
Besides, this left his options open to minor in other things of lesser interest to him. On top of his double major, he was minoring in three different subjects because most of the classes overlapped with what he was taking already.
