Time Stops When I'm with Her. (MHA)

A peculiar teen dies after being hit by Truck-kun. As the beaming lights flash into her eyes and the immense force tore apart her body, she finds herself motionless drifting off in a seemingly endless void until one day a light shone down upon her and she woke up in the body of a child. Chapter 45:

It only took around 20 minutes before the events were allowed to begin, the crowd who were once rowdy are now subdued in their seats awaiting the action.

The first event that the wheel chose for today's festivities? An obstacle course race.

It wasn't the best of events in the public's eyes, but it would at least give them a measure of the hero course's speed, and, in turn, their future response time for emergencies.

Of course, the majority of people didn't think of it that way, rather, it was mostly the HPSC and the heroes watching who did. Nobody wanted a slow hero, after all.

They spent the next three minutes gathering the students and moving them over to the starting line. The students were very excited to start with an 'easy' event, clearly forgetting that a certain chimera was in charge of making the obstacles they were going to face.

It wasn't about to be filled with hurdles, and easy parkour options, no, it was filled with giant robots, a giant chasm they had to cross, and a minefield.

Sure, they weren't actual mines, but they had enough force to make someone pee themselves, so it wasn't something people wanted to experience anyway.

There were a few people who didn't really care about the event or the sports festival in general, they were the general studies classes. Sure, some wanted to become heroes, but most were fine with where they were in life, and they didn't want to run a few kilometers.

Unfortunately, they were forced to participate, mostly to make the hero course look good in comparison to their meager times. This only soured the mood between the two parts of the school even more than previously.

However, nobody would act or show their displeasure, regarding it, in fear of aggravating the 'goddess'. They saw what she did to Shinso with a few words, they didn't want to imagine what she could do when she actually starts fighting.

(Momo POV)

It was finally time for me to show of-, I mean, participate in an event.

When the event was finally revealed, I was ecstatic. It was such a simple event, and it allowed me enough space to be creative with my options.

I had 10 rings that house powerful effects each, an infinity stone around my neck, and a nanotech iron-man suit stored in my body ready for deployment. The only problem for me was which rings I would showcase during it.

I would obviously be using the Remaker ring, due to it being so cool and too versatile to pass up. The spin ring would be another shoo-in due to it effectively granting super speed, through time alteration.

Other rings such as the Daimonic, and the Liar ring, are also some rings I could use judging on what the first obstacle is, a narrow doorway. I would be able to create hard-light illusions with Daimonic, and utilize telepathy and paralyze the competition with the Liar ring.

It would allow me to manipulate the others to a degree where I could make them not see, or hear, the starting signal. It would also make it seem I was never there with a combination of the hard-light illusion and the spectral rings invisibility.

I just didn't know if I wanted to mess with my friends using those techniques. I've seen how hard they've trained over this past week, and me ruining it by messing with them wouldn't be something I want to do.

I, ultimately, decided not to use them on my friends. Instead, I opted to use them on the people I didn't know or like. That way it wouldn't be on my conscious and I would still be able to show off my capabilities a bit.

I do not doubt in my mind that if Sakuya was in my position she would have had no mercy on them, and they wouldn't have been able to promote themselves to the public. Luckily for them, I'm not her, and I will let them have their spotlight. It just won't be as big as mine will be.

I was at the front of the crowd, getting to the front was surprisingly easy when most people don't want to touch/annoy the goddess' wife. Next to me was the duo of Shoto and Inasa. Two of my friends from the recommendation exam.

They were also part of a group chat with me. We all bonded over knowing Sakuya, and knowing we would never be able to surpass her. It was a morbid thing to bond over, but we were all fine with that conclusion.

We would later be fighting it out on the hero rankings, where Sakuya wouldn't have a chance due to her antagonizing the HPSC at every turn she could.

"Yaoyorozu, do you have a plan?" Shoto asked from my left.

Naturally, we would fight it out at a later event, but we decided to team up, alongside Inasa, for now, to make sure that we would be able to make it to the final stages together. There it would be no holding back, and we would fight it out for the 2nd spot on the UA 1st year power rankings.

"Naturally, I do."

"How plus ultra Yaomomo!" Inasa cheered next to me.

"Inasa will pick us up off of the ground with his quirk.

Then, I will turn the ground below us to quicksand so they will be slowed down. I will also paralyze those I don't know too.

Shoto will then create a ramp for us to slide down into the door, where he will then freeze the entrance shut. I will turn the ice wall into reinforced cement with the remaker ring to stop them even further.

Then, we will be free to do whatever we wish from there." I whispered to the two.

""Got it.""

We also may be teaming up to annoy Bakugo. None of us are fans of him, and this way he will be 4th at the very minimum. Which will annoy him to no end, and lead to him slipping up on the next event due to his anger issues.

*BZZT*

A loud buzzing noise signaled the start of the race.

Inasa got to work and immediately lifted us. I used the crowd's momentary confusion to paralyze those I don't know and turn the floor into quicksand.

When I turned around the ramp was already made and ready. We then dropped onto it and slid comfortably into the entranceway where Shoto froze it shut, and I turned it into reinforced cement.

"Plus ultra teamwork guys!" Inasa cheered, before starting to move towards the other end.

"Perfect! See you all at the finish line!" I spoke before activating the spin ring, deactivating the paralysis, and ran at super speed towards the other end.

Shoto said nothing, but the smile on his face was indicative enough of his enjoyment at the sounds of Katsuki trying to blast the reinforced concrete down. He quickly began sliding after us both.

"Would you look at that Eraserhead! Two of your students teamed up with a class B student to gain a huge lead!" Mic's voice came over the loudspeakers.

"It was very efficient of them. This event was meant to symbolize the rat race of trying to become the number one hero, and how some people will try to sabotage them along the way. It's not an easy path, and they should have expected this to happen."

I could only chuckle at Aizawa-sensei's dry reply. Just as I made it to the end of the tunnel, another announcement was made that caught my attention.

"What's this?! Melissa shield has smashed the concrete down with a singular kick! Could this be another All Might in the making?!" Mic shouted.

'Why not just tell them about One For All too, while you're at it Mic!'

Melissa was the dark horse in this competition for sure.

Her power level fluctuates, and with the information, I managed to squeeze out of Sakuya about it, it's a very dangerous quirk. All Might's quirk that has increased in power, and versatility? If anyone other than my wife told me that, I would have laughed it off.

I was banking on her lack of experience to give me the upper hand during a fight. Her fighting style was sloppy, with the only thing backing her up would be the speed she can reach.

She was easily the fastest person in the 1st year, minus Sakuya, and me with the spin ring, making her an annoyance to fight.

Soon enough, a large number of robots came into view. All easily being taller than an average skyscraper, with enough weaponry to arm an entire militia. I could only shake my head.

Sure, they were big and armed to the teeth, but they were terrible in fights with sloppy movements and slow actions in abundance. They were no real threat unless they collapsed on you.

"It looks as if Class 1-A's Momo Yaoyorozu has reached the robot inferno first! How will she take on these steel behemoths?! Will she fight, or run away?! I guess you'll have to watch and find out!" Mic's voice came through once more.

'Well, I could run, it would be more efficient as well. But, I still have some rings to showcase first.' I mused.

Activating the Daimonic ring, I used it to alter my gravitational field, granting myself levitation.

I shot up in front of the robots, activated the lightning ring, shrouded myself in electricity, and went feet first, blasting through their heads in what could only be called an arc of lightning.

It was a blur to the eyes of the audience, all they could see was the trail of destruction I left behind,

I also made sure to wink at the drone that was following me. You know, to showcase some confidence.

Alright, it was just be mimicking what Sakuya would have done. She always makes things look so cool, and I wanted to do that for once! I want to be the cool mom for Eri too…

"Woohoo~! Would you look at that people! Yaoyorozu has absolutely torn through those robots with calculated ease as if they were nothing but paper! What do you have to say about that display of power Eraserhead?"

"She chose to fight instead of running away, as any good hero would in that situation. I'm proud to have Yaoyorozu in my class, and dread to think of what she would be like as a villain." the bored voice complemented.

'I think that's the nicest thing Aizawa-sensei has said to anyone yet, and it was directed towards me! I have ascended!'

While I was celebrating mentally, running rapidly towards my next goal, I decided to listen in on the commentators, hoping to get an idea of what's happening behind me.

"Inasa Yoarashi from class 1-B is the next to take on what's left of the robot inferno. What will this high-flying student do in this situation?!

… He completely sliced the robots in half with a blade of pressurized air he called tempest crescent! Is this a super move debut?!

His quirk name is whirlwind, and that display of power definitely blew me away!"

"...Really? Blew me away?" Aizawa-sensei drawled, clearly not amused at his co-host's antics.

'Can't agree more, Aizawa-sensei. That was painful to hear. '

It wasn't a surprising development for Inasa to have such a large amount of firepower, airpower? His quirk is easily one of the best in the school, and it's not even awakened. I dread to think what it will awaken into.

Will it turn into a Mina scenario where his body becomes wind? Will it evolve into weather manipulation? I don't know, but I'm a tiny bit excited to find out.

Speaking of unawakened quirks, Sakuya hasn't awakened her own yet either. I doubt it needs one, but surely she has to suffer through the awakening process too, you know, to make it fair to all of her victims.

What would it possibly evolve into? The obvious answer would probably be space-time manipulation. That is… terrifying.

"Shoto Todoroki, the son of Endeavor, from class 1-A is next up to the plate! What will he do to the remaining stragglers amongst the junkyard previously known as the robot inferno?!

...He launched a massive sun at it! Did Endeavor teach him that?! His son is truly set on the path to surpass him in no time at all!

The previous pile of robots is now completely melted! I guess it's true what people say."

"What do people say, Mic?" Aizawa-sensei asked, clearly dreading the answer.

"If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen! And ladies, and gents, we have a real chef in the building, because Shoto Todoroki cooked those robots!"

"Yep… I shouldn't have asked."

'I think I heard the facepalm over the speakers…

I'm guessing that Shoto only used his fire to appease his father for the time being. Nobody wants to deal with a 40 something-year-old man having a temper tantrum.

I have no idea how the Todoroki family put up with him for so long.'

After cringing mentally at the image of Endeavor having a temper tantrum like a toddler, I came into view of the next obstacle. A hole… how creative UA, how creative…

I decided it was time to suit up finally, might as well let the support course students have their orgasms now instead of later. I, without a care in the world, jumped into the chasm, naturally shocking the audience.

The nanotech suit began forming around my body rapidly as I fell, out of the view of the drones. My RT node was on full display, and powering the suit. It was a wonderful feeling, I felt protected, I felt powerful.

As soon as the suit came online, I pumped the energy into the boots, and flew out of the chasm, surprising everyone. Surprising may have been an understatement, Mic's shouting would have blown my eardrums out if I didn't have noise-canceling technology in the helmet.

"YAOYOROZU IS IRON MAN?! IRON WOMAN?!

Eraserhead, how could you keep this a secret from me?! I thought we were friends!

Oh, no! Power Loader fainted, someone call Recovery Girl!"

"I didn't even know she had it either, Mic."

"Did you hear that folks? Eraserhead doesn't even know when teenagers have advanced weaponry on them! What a terrible teacher he is!"

A telepathic message came through from Sakuya as soon as Mic finished bantering around with Aizawa-sensei,

'Babe… tonight, whether you win or lose, we will be fucking. Maybe I can show you some of my own toys~.' her seductive voice whispered into my mind.

I was never more thankful that the suit came with a helmet before in my life. It is covering the immense blush I am sure is on my face, it's probably the same shade of red as the armor is too.

I so desperately wanted to reply with a flirty remark, but I knew that I would probably be stuttering throughout it, and only end up giving her more material to tease me with. I couldn't help but be excited by her words.

'Maybe she will let me be on top if I win? Would I even want to be on top? It would be something worth trying at least once, right?'

I was broken out of my dilemma by the next announcement,

"Ironwoman Yaoyorozu has made it to the last obstacle, too bad it doesn't affect her due to her being airborne. But, to let the people in the back know, it's a minefield!

Don't worry, they aren't lethal, they only pack enough force to make you wet yourself! Eraserhead can confirm this!"

"No, no, I can't, Mic. I didn't wet myself."

"And here's the second time Eraserhead has been in denial today! I wonder if we can make it three by the end of today's events!"

"I don't know why I accepted this position… If any other hero schools are hiring, please let me know through the appropriate channels."

'Second time? It's probably Sakuya's fault… I wonder what she did to have Aizawa-sensei in denial, I doubt the dinosaur was enough.' I pondered as I flew over the mines.

I didn't need to destroy these for Shoto's sake due to his ice being able to deactivate the mines due to the temperature change. Or, he could just float on a platform above them like I probably would.

"It looks like 1st place is as good as taken, folks!

Second place is probably going to Yoarashi at the speed he's clearing the fall.

Being able to fly is a cheat code for this event! He doesn't have to do any of the obstacles apart from the door because he can just fly over them!

Third place is currently between Shoto Todoroki, and a newcomer to the frontline, Melissa Shield!

Will Todoroki's firepower be able to overpower Melissa's fiery determination?!

Who's fire will extinguish first?!

We will find out soon as they have both reached the fall!"

I should have expected that from Melissa, to be totally honest, she's a speedster through and through. Shoto will have to make up the time on the minefield, where he won't have to be as careful as Melissa.

I was happy to not hear any news about Katsuki, though. It meant that he would be coming fifth unless he pulls some crazy maneuver with mine propulsion. It would work for him, he is pretty close to blast-proof after all.

I didn't have any time to think about what was going to happen to them, as I was just about to pass the finish line. I flew right through it, and did a victory lap in the stadium before coming down to the field and unequipping the suit.

"There you have it, ladies and gents! Momo Yaoyorozu came first in the obstacle race!"

I gave a bow, and left for the cafeteria, I needed a drink.

Inasa soon joined me after coming second. He didn't look defeated at all, in fact, he was excited that UA had such strong people attending it. What a wonderful outlook on life he has.

I witnessed the photo finish between Shoto, and Melissa. Melissa managed to scrape a win for third place. I assume her danger sense quirk helped her in navigating the minefield, which let her maintain her speed throughout.

She was, naturally, very proud of the outcome. She had her quirk for a few months, to a year, at best, and has managed to compete with people who've had it their entire lives. She gave a happy wave towards the teacher's box, and the camera, probably hoping All Might and her father saw it.

Shoto was fine with the entire situation from what I could tell. He was a little annoyed at not being with his friends at the top, but that was about it.

He congratulated Melissa on her win over him, which helped with her confidence issues a bit, and joined us in the cafeteria along with her soon after.

We all began eating, and drinking, and generally using our free time to stock up on energy for the incoming round of events. Melissa joined our team, mainly due to Inasa letting it slip that it was a thing, and invited the blonde.

I didn't have any issue with her joining, but I would prefer not to have someone talk my ear off about nanomachines for the entire event.

She wanted to study them, and potentially invent some things with them later on. I could understand why, she was a science fanatic before receiving her quirk after all, and I have made the biggest advancement in technology so far.

Bakugo was, naturally, fuming at his embarrassing display during the event. He didn't even bother coming over to sit down with us, opting to wait in the field for the next event to be announced.

A decision that I was thankful for, I didn't want to hear him shouting and interrupting the peaceful atmosphere we had.

Eventually, everyone finished the race.

Well, not everyone, Mineta had shattered his ankle by allegedly missing a jump on one of his balls from his quirk.

Sato also didn't bother competing due to his family having a stall opened, and he wanted to help them out, so he just walked off as soon as the buzzer rang. He wasn't worried about getting a placement due to the school providing one no matter what.

He also explained the situation to the principal, who accepted his reasoning, probably because his family's bakery is a company owned by my wife, and she terrifies the chimera.

Soon, it was time for the next event to be announced. Me, Melissa, Inasa, and Shoto made our way to the stadium in hopes that it would be an event that would be as easy as the first.

Creation is hard, cheer me up! Love the book? Review it!

And the race is done!

God, it was such a boring event to rewatch before writing this. I hope that this chapter has brought you more enjoyment than the actual canon obstacle course race did, if it didn't? Whoops~.
