As Lin, Feng, and May reached the library, Lin glanced around, making sure no one was in sight. "This place is definitely off-limits," he muttered, his voice hushed. "We can't risk getting caught."
Feng nodded in agreement, his eyes wide with anticipation. "I can't believe we stumbled upon a secret laboratory beneath the library," he whispered. "What do you think they were doing down there? And what is that prophecy even supposed to mean? For real, I don't want to be involved in this. "
May's cheeks were flushed with a mixture of adrenaline and admiration, but she couldn't help but smile at Lin. He was the reason she was beginning to have such an exciting life.
From the moment she saw him fight against those three formidable rangers, she had been captivated by his courage and strength. Now, as they stood in the quiet library, her heart raced with curiosity about their intertwined destinies.
Lin took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "Listen, guys," he began, his voice filled with a newfound sense of purpose. "I have something important to tell you. It's about this personal assistant that is literally in my head. It is not the biocore, but it gives me a boost. Like my own abilities."
"Lin, don't do it. It could be dangerous, revealing such sensitive information to people. That is why superheroes in movies wear masks," Zen's voice echoed in Lin's mind, trying to stop him from spilling the bean.
"I don't want to wear a mask. I will not hide like a coward behind a mask," Lin thought to Zen.
Feng leaned in closer, his eyes filled with curiosity. "What abilities are you talking about, Lin?"
Lin hesitated for a moment, unsure of how they would react. But he knew it was time to share his secret.
"I am not sure what it is. It's probably an artificial intelligence called Zen implanted at the base of my brain. I know we all got one as babies to help the government keep track of us but mine came to life just the day I got into the academy, and this wristband have something to do with it," he confessed. "It shares its thoughts with me and grants me incredible powers. Zen has enhanced my speed and agility to unimaginable levels. And, to a lesser extent, I can freeze time for three seconds."
"What? Freeze time? What!" Feng's jaw dropped in astonishment, his mind trying to comprehend the magnitude of Lin's revelation.
May's eyes sparkled with a mix of fascination and adoration. She had always admired Lin, but now her admiration had taken on a new level of awe.
"So, you're saying you have the ability to manipulate time?" May asked, her voice filled with a mixture of wonder and disbelief.
"What? You are buying what he is saying?" Feng asked May irritated.

[Meanwhile, in Lin's head]
"You bloody snitch," Zen cursed in disgust.
"C'mon, our destinies are intertwined. They are fated to know this," Lin responded in his defence."
"How can you prove this?," Zen asked Lin sarcastically.
"Let me guess, it's because you all were born on the same day, right?" Zen continued sarcastically.
"Now you are catching on!" Lin thought.
"How are you in possession of the world's smartest assistant and still a dimwit?" Zen cursed at Lin," worldwide, you were born with over three hundred thousand others on the same day. Or could it be possible that the others were all wiped out during the war?"
"It really felt fated that we all were born on the same day and we are in the same class, I share a room with Feng... it is too much to be a coincidence. I just believe the sooner we figure out this prophecy, the sooner we get to the best part. How would I become the best without challenges?" Lin said, standing his ground.
"And I thought I was supposed to make your life easier," Zen said, giving up on the conversation.
"You are making my challenges easier," Lin said softly.

Lin nodded, a sense of purpose emanating from him. "I believe my role in the prophecy is to be the link between us and the birth of the new god. With my time-manipulating abilities, I can wield time like a sword. I have no idea why I was chosen to get the advanced neural tech"
"Prove it," Feng said firmly.
May's cheeks flushed even deeper as her heart beat faster. She couldn't help but feel a sense of destiny intertwining their lives. "I agree," she said, her voice filled with a newfound determination. "We must return to the lab tonight when the lights are out and the academy is asleep. This is way too interesting."
Lin nodded, his eyes beaming with ambition,"tonight, under the cover of darkness, we will meet up here and I will show you what i got, then, we can go ahead to check out the laboratory," he declared.
In excitement, May couldn't help but wonder who the fourth child in the prophesy would be.
"If this is legit, I'm in," Feng said as they began walking out of the library.
As the day progressed, their excitement mingled with a hint of apprehension. Thoughts of the hidden lab consumed their minds,
and they found it difficult to focus on their studies.
They would catch each other stealing glances at each other with a sense of adventure and curiosity burning in their eyes.
Finally, nightfall arrived. The academy fell into an eerie silence as the lights dimmed and the students retired to their dormitories. The trio, cloaked in darkness, made their way back to the library, their footsteps muffled by the stillness of the night.
With bated breath, they approached the entrance of the hidden lab.
"About the door, I lied earlier. Zen helped me with the door," Lin said with a smile.
"Before we embrace what's ahead of us, check this out," Lin told his friends.
Lin went ahead to use his skills. It was the moment of revelation.

Lin's hands quickly reached for the door scanner with his wristband. With a flicker of anticipation, the door clicked and creaked open, revealing a dimly lit chamber bathed in an ethereal glow.
Lin went ahead to step into the laboratory while Feng and May stayed frozen in time.
He ran down the stairs and got to the base just before time resumed its flow.
May looked around, and something was off. The door was open, and Lin wasn't in sight.
She stole a glance at Feng, and he was as confused as she was.
"Lin?" May called out.
"I am down here. Come right down," Lin called back.
Feng and May were stunned.
"He did it!" May whispered, and she began walking down the stairs into the lab to meet Lin.
The realization dawned on Feng. What else would he have expected from the son of a natural treasure.
As Feng walked down the stairs, he began to wonder what his roles in this prophecy could be.
[Beep! Beep!]
"Speak to me, Zen," Lin muttered, his voice low and soft.
"There is a significant energy surge originating from the other side of this wall. To investigate further, we must find a way to access the area beyond," Zen's voice broke through Lin's thought.
May and Feng reunited with Lin and found him pacing around in the laboratory like he was looking for something.
"That was insane, Lin," May smiling at Lin with brilliant innocence.
Feng walked over and pat Lin on the shoulder. Now he has no doubts. At least until proven otherwise.
"Guys, we will have to find a way to the other side of this wall, I just got words from Zen that we might get an answer on the other side of this wall. Zen is indicating an insane energy source that might be of interest to us," Lin said, pointing to the wall where the prophecy was boldly inscribed.
"And so it begins," Feng replied, putting up his guard for anything that came afterwards.
May's eyes widened with excitement, realizing that her magical prowess could prove invaluable in this moment.
Everything seemed to be moving too fast, but with Lin as the captain of the ship, she was willing to tag along.
May grinning, "Fear not, my friends. I have just the spell to unlock mystical barriers. Allow me to work my magic. "
With a graceful wave of her hand, May began reciting an incantation she had learned during her studies. The air crackled with mystic energy as the spell took effect. Suddenly, the ground beneath them rumbled, and the wall before them started sliding aside, revealing a hidden passage.
Feng and Lin exchanged impressed glances, appreciating May's magical aptitude. They stepped forward cautiously, entering the room revealed by the sliding wall. The chamber was adorned with various mystical artifacts—vials, orbs, and scrolls—creating an atmosphere of enchantment.
However, their attention was immediately drawn to a mesmerizing sight—a glowing crystal suspended in the centre of the room. Its brilliance and pulsating energy captivated their senses, beckoning them closer.
Feng whispering, "That must be the source of the energy surge. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. Proceed with caution, Lin."
Feng felt goosebumps as Lin began stepping towards the crystal. He could feel the fear of the unknown creeping up to him.
Lin's curiosity sparked a desire within him, and he couldn't resist the crystal's magnetic pull. Step by step, he moved towards it, as though guided by an invisible force.
May screamed anxiously as Lin closed the distance between him and the crystal. "Lin, be careful! We don't know what that crystal is capable of."
With a determined expression, Lin stretched out his hand, hesitating for a moment before making contact with the crystal's radiant surface. Instantly, the crystal reacted, pulsating with intensified energy, surpassing its previous brilliance.
Lin felt an electric surge course through his body as he was lifted from the ground, suspended mid-air. The wristband on his arm glowed in response, its pulsing light mirroring the crystal's energy.

May and Feng watched in awe and concern as the room filled with blinding light, forcing them to shield their eyes. They could sense the raw power surging through the air, tingling with anticipation.
May shouted over the noise, "Lin! What's happening? Are you alright?"
Before Lin could respond, the crystal unleashed a burst of energy, creating a shockwave that rocked the room. The trio was thrown forcefully against the walls, their bodies colliding with the unforgiving surface, rendering them unconscious.
As their minds drifted into darkness, the room fell silent once more, leaving only the faint hum of residual energy. Unbeknownst to them, their fate had taken an unexpected turn. The surge of power from the crystal had triggered a cataclysmic reaction, altering their destinies in ways they could never have imagined.
