Ch 74: Rose didn't coward

Once Kai knew Victoria was out cold. He got out of bed and left to the nearby gathering room and took a seat. His mind was cluttered with what he saw that Rex and those five members of his clan were about to **** his mate.

Beneath his heart it raged him beyond anger. 'If me and my clans didn't show up out numbering them. Rex would have taken what is mine!'

Hunters were difficult to chase off and Rex and his clan fled way to easily. Kai knew this alpha vampire was enjoying his game far too much.

Kai read that unsatisfied lust in Rex's eyes. Told Kai, Rex wants every ounce of his mate. He wants her blood, sex, and to consume anything else he can get from her. Even her agonizing screams will please him.

Rex became possessed by Victoria, thought Kai. He saw that debate in Rex's eyes told him he's undecided on what to do with Victoria. With whether or not, to kill her or keep her alive for himself.

'Therefore, I'll make the decision for Rex by taking him out myself.' Thought Kai, growing more sinister but first you must always know your enemy before you strike. Those are the wise words he lives by.

Yet Kai was deeply puzzle since he determined Rex is born with the same era as him. However, he didn't recognize his scent. Rex must be from a different dimension or parallel world. Then he must have crossed into this world through a portal, Kai debated.

'Regardless of where he's from, Rex gives me no choice but to destroy him and all the males in his clan. Then his females can go to his unmated males.' Kai thought with a dreadful grin.

There was only one way to defeat an immortal by draining him weak of blood. Then his body will shrivel up into a dried out corpse. From there he can toss Rex into the deep ocean for him to sleep forever with the rest of his males that serve him!

'However, I must'nt underestimate his gifts. First, I must know what gift he has to defeat him successfully'

Right in the middle Kai scheming about this diabolical plan to defeat Rex. His thoughts were interpreted by Rose when she came into the room.

Her scorning red eyes lit the darkness that Kai dwells in. He could tell from her face she was vivid but he wasn't in the mood to deal with this right now.

Kai took off his shades showing her his red glowing orbs narrowing toward her.

Nonetheless, Rose wasn't threaten and Kai knew this to be true. It wouldn't be the first verbal fight that he encountered with her.

All at the same time, he noticed Rose was wearing a similar dress to Victoria's tonight. It's not the first time he noticed that his ex and his mate shared similar taste when it came to clothes.

Unlike before; now the dress Rose wore drove Kai to madness to revision what Rex almost did to his mate. Just when he was about to burst in a raging storm of anger. Mia and Ava come in with softer expressions compared to Rose. Behind them within the hall was Ace, Ivan, and John.

"Leave me be, Rose," Kai warned which made Mia step back into her mate, Ivan. Which made her feel better to realize he was there. Ava flinched to his voice but stood her ground. She knew Kai was grumpy but he wasn't the type of alpha to harm the vampiresses in his coven. Especially towards one he was blood related too.

Rose however didn't flinch nor coward instead she stepped forward. Which wasn't any surprise for Kai because he did date her once.

"What is wrong with you!" Rose spat out. "How could you treat Victoria like that after what she had gone through! You saved her and then yell at her because of what she was wearing!"

Kai glared viciously as he snipped back. "You better never dress my mate up in those type of harlot clothes again!"

"It shouldn't matter what she wears! This is the 21st century! Women show a little more skin compared to what you're used to back in the old era. You very well no covering up doesn't stop **** from happening! Victoria his young and fresh she should be able to enjoy her life as a human girl." Rose protested.

"I want her covered!" Kai snarled and put his feet down. "Unless she is around me then she is to be decently dressed! Young or not there will be no more clubs for her! Male humans and animals are bad enough but vampires are far worst when comes to wanting sex!"

Rose rolled her eyes hissing aggressively. "You never acted this controlling with me!"

"You were never my mate!" Kai jabbed words that once were hurtful to her but not anymore.

By a little, Rose soften to try breaking down his stubborn wall. "This was my fault. I didn't know Rex sent his vampiress to trick Victoria while I was feeding. I failed to protect her as you had asked me to do. Don't take this out on Victoria. If you haven't noticed her and I dress no differently..."

"I've noticed!" Kai cut her off bitterly. "It's not your fault Rose. You are pregnant and more hungry from carrying your offspring. I can't ask you to protect Victoria, I only want you to gain her trust. And be sure she doesn't dress like a prostitute next time!"

"Not even Ace nor you were this controlling about what I wear!" Rose implied softly. "You have changed Kai. You never used to be so cruel or controlling. I would think with your mate you'd be treating her better than treasure. It is so overbearing to not have her love?"

"Yes!" Kai rolled one word off his tongue while he glared deathly.

Ace stepped into the room as she felt him touched her back. "I don't get it, Ace wasn't like this when I was in love with you."

Kai got more aggravated to explain. "Because I didn't pursue you! I pushed you away! Without choice, you bitterly walked away brokenhearted for Ace to fix what I broke in you. But Victoria still loves Orlando and he's still pursuing her! My plan to break Victoria's heart from no longer loving Orlando didn't work in my favor! I shouldn't have to spell this out to you! Now all of you get out and leave me be!"

One tear ran down Rose's cheek before she turned her heel leaving. Following her went Ava and Mia next. Ace, Ivan, and John stayed looking at him getting swallowed up in self pity. Until he gave them the glare that meant get lost or I will hurt you.

They took that warning seriously, and scrammed. Not even John who is an alpha wanted to cross Kai. Kai was far stronger and would beat him in a fight.
