Treo City survivors aftermath

The rescue team's captain hurriedly left before the tunnel collapsed.

When she walked out, she saw a stranger carrying Ros's body and the two members still pinning the Knight down.

Ros had blood dripping from his ears and nose, which stained the ground.

The stranger who was carrying him had on a red mask; when they raised their hand, blood that had been mixed with the dirt rose slowly.

"His words are our words," she declared, turning to face the stranger. "I will keep his promise till my last breath."

Blood streaming from their hands, the stranger nodded and swept the floor, stirring up dust as they went out of sight.

Grief briefly overcame the other two members when they realized that she was the last one who came out.

The Knight they were holding down broke free at that very moment.

"All of you here are under arrest for assaulting a higher rank and for collaborating with criminals!" cried the Knight as he leaped away from them.

Taking off her sunglasses, the captain said, "I will request everyone here be sent to Ponggol City," her amber eyes meeting the Knight's jade eyes.

"Ha! You think..." the Knight paused, taking in what the captain had said and fixing his uncertain gaze on her.

He tucked his gun away and turned off the nanotech on his uniform when he saw her composed expression. With a tone that went from annoying to serious, he questioned, "Keres, are you sure?"

He looked towards the wounded survivors, who were watching, unsure of what would become of them.

In response, she smiled helplessly and said, "No need to be so suspicious of me; I am just running from the main political stage."

As Keres was speaking, the other two members noticed that she was putting her hands in her pockets.

Upon realizing this, the Knight turned around and sighed deeply. "I will be back tomorrow with the transport," he said.

After flipping his radio back on, he walked away.

A member moved swiftly in the direction of the survivors, his eyes glowing a bright green as the majority of them were surrounded by green light.

Another approached Keres cautiously and gave her a doubtful expression.

He said, "Cap... what about our goal?" in a low voice.

Keres placed a hand on his shoulder, "The journey to the goal will be long, you are free to always leave if you want. I won't blame you."

The member stared at her, thinking of a response. At last, he retreated a step and let her hand drop.

"Thanks for saving me, but I can not sit here and keep seeing all these injustices," the member said, closing his eyes and drawing in a deep breath.

With his head bowed, he headed towards the tunnel while gazing at the crumbled structure.

Repositioning her hand in her pocket, Keres turned to face the limping survivor approaching her.

"Have I seen you before? You seem familiar." Voye asked.

As she put her sunglasses back on, Keres grinned slightly and said, "I hope you do not remember then, go get some rest Voye."

She walked towards the tunnel without waiting for his response.

Voye's head ached, but he was not sure if that was from forcing himself to remember or from the tunnel escape.

The rescue crew yelled at Voye, "Hey! We only got a day to get everyone healed as much! Please stay in the light!"

After giving Keres a quick glance in the back, Voye made his way back. He sat down and looked up at the blue, smoky sky, muttering to himself.

Following the fall of Treo City, a large number of survivors were sent to different cities to "quarantine" and ensure that the Zombie organization had not planted any spies there.

While some of the survivors made an effort to flee, many others remained in the same state of ignorance as when Kraz was a child.

Voye's group waited a day before a vehicle arrived to pick them up.

Rather than a van, it was a minibus.

Aside from the driver's seat, the rest of the seats were facing each other. There were seven seats on each side.

Going to the tunnel entrance, they paid their respects to Rai before boarding the bus.

The survivors in this group will be transferred to a different city located further to the northeast.

The city was called Ponggol City.

Due to its riverside location, Ponggol City's economy was based primarily on seafood and fruits from a nearby forest. The forest farther out from the sea is fruit-rich because of the humid weather.

This city is not as filled with tall buildings as many other cities are; instead, it has wooden buildings that are more reminiscent of the old world.

However, two years ago, it was attacked by monsters who appeared near the sea.

Despite its ancient architecture, the city had advanced technology to repel the majority of attacks. Nonetheless, half of the city has been destroyed and is currently being rebuilt.

For unknown reasons, the other half abandoned the ancient style in favor of a more modern military style complete with bunkers and additional equipment.

According to rumors on the Powered Being Network, the previous attack caused a crack, which the Knight was now using to explore the Astral World.

It had been two days since the group got on the bus.

Now that night had fallen, the majority of the survivors were fast asleep.

The van began its journey through Treo City on wheels before switching to hover mode to move more quickly outside of the city.

Even so, the trip would take a week due to the great distance. Passing through several other cities and forests.

Over the last few days, the other rescuer, Kaison, had done his best to heal everyone. Either using his power or simply banadging them up to heal natrually.

Lucius suffered the most serious injuries, followed by Voye, as both were at the forefront of the escape.

Kaison sat in the corner while the survivors were sleeping, pulling his helmet's face shield down to his face.

He asked Keres in hushed tones, "Are we cursed? Are we going to lose more people again?"

Keres closed her eyes and lowered her head without saying anything.

Kaison looked out the small window on the back of the van, noticing the city they were flying over.

Voye opened his eyes and looked up at Kaison, who was sitting opposite him. "Kaison, when are we going to get some food?" Won't we heal faster with food?"

"You will regain energy faster, so it will help with the recovery. No food will just heal you so magically." Kaison gave a flat reply.

"I believe you can make food that heals you with the power of science." Added another survivor. Her name is Margaret, and she graduated from the technology food science program.

Kaison sighed quietly, "Believe as you will, but that road will be longer now with where we are going."

He was speaking not only to Margarent but also to the other people who were awake and listening.
