Chapter Thirty-Four: "You're a bad cook"

"What does that mean?" The captain asked surprised, stumbling a little, miniscule enough to not be seen, but Bree was blessed with the eyes of an eagle.

"You made me Sophia's partner, she already had a partner, her partner was only missing, but nobody knew Sonia was dead, how did you find out, to be so confident about her status to even make me Sophia's new partner?" 

Bree's gaze did not leave the captain, she was cautious enough to not allow anything run by her, she stared at him as she questioned him, not like how she questioned suspect, she left a bit of respect in her tone.

If he was as innocent as he tried to seem, his ensuing reply would be 'I made you her partner to work on the case, just that case' but he didn't say anything like that, anything relating to that, rather, he got scared and broke his character.

"Do you think I'm in cahoots with Ricardo Jorge?" The captain asked, proving Bree right.
