Chapter 10

Ivan's POV

I don't think I have ever woken up feeling this way.

For the first time in a long time, I felt so anxious, and ironically as anxious as I felt I was looking forward to the day.

And I haven't even told Hazel about it yet though I may have hinted at it yesterday night.

I have to tell her soon though because the day was today.

I glanced at my alarm clock, it was still early, just 5:00 am. I had been awake for hours thinking about today.

I had to be at work before 6:30 am but today I won't go to work until I told Hazel about the wedding party. But that would mean I would have to wait for her to wake up which means I will have to go to work late.

I guess I had no choice.

But before I start worrying about how to tell Hazel, I should just simply take a long shower and get ready so as soon as I tell Hazel about it, I will just head straight to work.

I had my shower and dressed up smartly you know like every boss with a damn suit.

I seriously can wait for a day I had just worn a T-shirt and pants.

By the time I was done, it was already 6 am.

I headed downstairs to have a quick coffee when I saw Elma and Cassie in the kitchen giggling about something.

"Ivan!!!!", Cassie said to me immediately she sighted me and jumped on me.

" Hey sweetie, how long have you been awake", I said to her as I missed her forehead. " Did you enjoy your day yesterday and your sleep?".

"I did and that's why I woke up early to make breakfast for Hazel to thank her", she said excitedly.

" That's sweet Cassie, next time I promise I will take you out to have all the ice cream you want"

Cassie didn't reply to me, instead, she just hugged me tightly and ran off to sit at the dining table with what seemed like a cup of ice cream.

" And you better not break that promise", Elma said to me as she walked towards me with a cup of coffee

" I won't nanny".

I was about to collect the coffee when Elma shook her head and said to me," Breakfast first"

" Please nanny, coffee is my breakfast"

My nanny said nothing to me and walked up to Cassie and collected her ice cream.

" And no ice cream for you until you finish your breakfast", Elma said sternly but yet affectionately to Cassie.

She then turned back to me, "I am going to call Hazel for breakfast and don't you dare touch that coffee till you finish your breakfast".

After saying that Elma left to do her assignment.

I looked back at my coffee and I felt an overwhelming urge to grab it and leave but instead, I just sat down staring at it.

Immediately I heard Elma's footsteps coming down the stairs, I hurriedly took my seat and began to munch on my bacon. And I had to admit it was really good.

When Elma finally came back, I didn't see Hazel which wasn't what I expected. I had to tell her soon about the party.

" Nanny, where is Hazel?"

" You already worried about her", my nanny grinned. " I thought you had resolved everything with her".

" I did nanny is just well I have something important to tell her before I leave".

Elma's eyes widened at my statement. " It isn't serious right?"

"It is nanny", I said with a sigh. " And if I don't tell her now it would be really bad"

My nanny came closer to me and looked at me worriedly. " You aren't dying right,?"

I couldn't help but let out a laugh."No nanny I am not dying it's just that I told everyone we are having my wedding party this night and I haven't told Hazel yet and I know she would freak out not because she isn't ready yet".

I expected Elma to tell me she would tell Hazel herself but she looked at me with a serious expression and said, "So have you prepared and called the event planners to come over and set everything ready?".

Oh my goodness, Elma had a point. I didn't think of that.

Elma sighed and looked at me. "Don't worry I will handle everything but you will make sure you tell Hazel about it once she comes down for breakfast, for now, you have to eat your breakfast and think about how to tell her before she comes".

" Thank you, Nanny, I will do my best", I said to Elma and continued eating.

"Everything tastes so delicious by the way", I said causing a small blush on Elma's cheeks.

It didn't take long when Hazel came down for breakfast.

I quickly stole a glance at her. She looked beautiful this morning even though she wasn't even dressed up. She was in literally pajamas and her hair was still kinda wet.

Oh my God, why am staring at her?

She came to the breakfast table and immediately Cassie saw her she became so fidgety and excited.

I didn't look up though at both of them as they were involved in their little conversation.

But then suddenly I had an idea of how I was going to tell Hazel.

The perfect opportunity came the moment I caught Hazel staring at me.

I turned to Cassie and sweetly said to her, "Eat up quickly sweetie so you could not only finish your ice cream but prepare with Hazel for our special wedding party this night".

When I said this I saw the look of confusion on Hazel's face and a look of disapproval from Elma.

But I ignored both and said to Hazel with a smile, "Don't worry she won't be a fuss at the party"

To even make things easier for me, Elma walked up to Hazel and said, "It's going to be so splendid dear, it will be the wedding party of the century".

Suddenly Hazel burst out laughing." You guys are funny".

I laughed along with her and soon everyone joined in.

When the whole place became silent, I removed one of my credit cards from my wallet and handed it to Hazel.

" What's this for?", Hazel looked at me after collecting it.

" It's for you to get a dress and whatever you need for the party and don't worry Elma will help you with everything including the event planning, right now I have to get to work".

After saying this I stood up from the table and wiped my lips with the handkerchief.

"Thank you so much nanny for the meal", I said politely with a smile to Elma. " Is a good thing you didn't allow me to drink my coffee".

Nanny smiled back at me and handed my coffee back to me which I collected.

" Now hurry up dear to work and please don't be late for the party", Elma said to me while grinning at Hazel.

I walked towards Cassie and kissed her on her forehead. " Behave yourself, okay, I will see you soon tonight".

Cassie nodded her head and happily got up from her sit and dragged Hazel to sit beside her.

I smiled at Cassie's action even though it wasn't to me.

Hazel hadn't said anything and seemed to be trying to process what was happening.

I looked at her one last time before leaving and said to her," Try to enjoy yourself while shopping, you can even shop not only for the dress you want but anything else"

But she still kept silent and kept glancing at me.

I hope though that when I get back, Hazel would have been okay about it.

Today was going to be a hell of a day.
