Chapter 18 : System

3rd POV

Currently, Hajin and Rachel had just defeated the mid-boss of Master Difficulty.

It was a low-level ogre. Now one would think, why was it on master difficulty when it's just a low-level monster? Well, it was low "leveled", but its strength was insane.

Ogre were naturally a monster race stronger than goblins. They were so strong in fact, that even a low level orge could alone defeat a mid-level goblin lord, and the orge wouldn't even be a warrior, he would just be a normal citizen ogre. That was just how powerful they were.

They were very powerful, second only to the Original Demon race, those that were high level demons and had armies of immortal demons beneath them. However, that didn't mean it would be a single-sided fight. The ogres would still give the demons a hard time, only if one of the top 10 Ars Goetia or the seven deadly sins could defeat a whole ogre village without difficulty.

Why a village? Because normall,y ogres lived in large groups and refrained from straying from each other. They lived as a family, thus, their trust in each other and their sync was also great compared to demons, who were selfish and desired everything for themselves, especially low level demons.

Now, leaving that aside, the mid boss was a low level ogre, while the minnions were flame elementals. Each of them was stronger than the average hobgoblin warriors.

While fighting them, although Hajin wasn't having any difficulty because of the nature of nihility, the same could not be said for Rachel. Elementals, ultimately, were lesser or fallen spirits. They didn't have a physical body, the only way to defeat them with physical strength would be to overpower them, and that required having enough force to overpower space itself, which was not easy in any way.

Normally, low level elementals could be handled by magic-coated weapons, like enchaning your weapon with mana. However, higher level elementals needed mana-enchanced artifacts or attacks that have high level mana properties in them.

Rachel had neither of those, so she was having a hard time, with the only option of dodging the attacks and trying to hold them off.

Therefore, to get rid of this problem, Hajin asked if Rachel could use Nihility, to which he replied with "No". However, he said that she could still use normal mana, and if needed, diluted Nihility that was mixed with mana.

It was similar to Evandel's Nihility in nature, however, it was not pure nihility. Although it was not degraded like Evandel's, it was still siluted. Evandel could have lower grade pure Nihlity, but in Rachel's case, she should be able to use the higher grade but diluted Nihility.

And that's what Hajin did, by mixing [Stigma]'s original mana and using [Nihility convertor] to constantly generate mana, he mixed that mana with a part of his own Nihility and sent it to Rachel. Rachel, of course, felt the disturbance in the flow of mana in her body.

When she asked Hajin, he just replied with 'I'm sending you my own mana, think it of as a more powerful version of the mana in nature'. He than suggested Rachel to use this energy to coat her sword instead of coating it with just simple mana.

Rachel felt that the new energy in her body was dangerous, extremely dangerous. It was like giving a gernade to a normal citizen, the person could use it on others, but he himself will also fear and have a bad feeling of it since it could kill him as well if not used correctly.

However, Hajin reassured her that such things wouldn't happen as it was only flowing in unidirectionaly. It was flowing from Hajin's body to Rachel's directly through the rune, so, if it happened to go berserk, the rune would automatically stop it from entering Rachel's body and reverse its flow back to Hajin.

Rachel, as instructor by Hajin, then began to concentrate and find the path of flow of this energy in her body, so she could channel it to her hands and than her weapon. Of course, they didn't have the time for that since monsters were constantly coming, and long-range attacks as well. So Hajin formed a barrier around Rachel using Nihility and switched his gun from [Mode : Pistol] to [Mode : Shotgun].

Then, instead of using mana, he concentrated just a tiny bit of Nihility on the shells and fired. And just a single shot from him erased half of the monsters from existence. The only monsters that were left alive were those that were very far from the gun's range, those that were hundreds of meters away like the flying monsters, the long-range hobgoblin archer squad, and the boss, who surprisingly managed to get away immediately after sensing the dangerous aura that leaked for just a part of a second when Hajin infused Nihility with his ammo.

However, that didn't mean that he failed. In fact, the shot gun's range was supposed to be only a few meters, even less than 10 meters in total. However, due to its infusion with Nihility, its range increased along with the fire power, but in contrast, the accuracy and control decreased to balance the increase in power. Still, a large amount of monsters were defeated.

At that time, the chamber's lights suddenly became red, the system had an error. Hajin destroying such a large number of powerful monsters like this was not supposed to be how it was designed for cadets in the AI's algorithm.

Therefore, to correct the mistake and reconstruct its algorithm, it spawed another horde of monsters, the same ones that Hajin just destroyed.

But that was not a problem here, Hajin can just kill them again, but it didn't end there. The monsters kep spawning continuously, as soon as Hajin killed one horde, another spawed. Hajin just kept destroying them again and again.

It was not that he couldn't do it, it was because he couldn't afford getting Rachel distracted, since if that happened, Nihlity would go berserk, and even if it couldn't harm him and Rachel, it would still destroy the entire training chamber, which was not something he wanted, at least not so soon.

Meanwhile on the other side, Rachel was almost done. She had already directed the flow of Nihility from her hand that had the rune engraved on it to her entire body, after that, she directed a part of it to her other hand. The only thing left was for Rachel to make it flow inside the weapon. However, that was not easy either.

As said before, Nothingness was... nothingness. It was meant to destroy and recreate that destruction. The moment it flowed inside the weapon, there was high chance that the weapon would break instantly. And that wasn't need in such a situation.

At that time, a small window popped up in front of her, it was glowing red, but after looking around, it seemed that she was the only one who could see it.

[I'll help you, but get ready because you will feel a lot of pain] Appeared on the red window, and soon, she started hearing voices in her head. She was ready to feel the pain, but it turned out to be beyond her expectation. It was not something a human was supposed to handle.

She tried to resist it, but she couldn't. But she still tried to remain sane. She survived just at the very end of the cliff, even just a gust of wind, and she would fall.

She kept hearing the same voice in her head repeatedly, she couldn't stop it, nor could she deny to hear it. It was repeated endlessly. However, suddenly, all the pain stopped. It was as if it never even existed in the start. Still, the aftermath on her mind was great.

She barely managed to lift her head, only to see that the pop-up window had turned blue. Than, it started changing constantly, and all the fatigue in her body disappeared. She felt alive again, and energy started to flow through her body at a rapid phase. Her body was covered with a blinding light, her body started rebuilting itself to adjust and hold her newly gained power that even she wasn't aware of.
