The Dark side of the world(Part 2)

Alvin shook his head and lamented the stupidity of these people caused by their lust for power. They clearly knew the information posted by the 'God of War' Ares about the incoming danger but they still acted this way?

He became much more determined to try and find ways to hide the progress he was making in his strength to avoid suspicion.

A lot of people didn't realize that 'Sillent Killer' had been taken out and were still posting their addresses asking for them to meet. Others were also showering praises on him and urging others who had already leveled up to follow his example and share experiences.

Alvin shook his head when he saw this and immediately logged out. He checked the time and it was almost 6:00 AM! It was time to start the new day!

In a small apartment building in the Northern District of Freedom City, a thin young man was sitting in front of his computer seriously typing with a very smug expression.

Although he looked very weak with his thin figure, his speed of typing was very fast. This young man's name was Clay Bennett, a 24 year old professional programmer and gamer.

Although Clay is an ordinary person with a genotype of D+, he indeed is a very brilliant programmer. His life of a professional programmer allowed him enough money to also engage in his favorite hobby, playing VR games.

He was very good at this, even one of the best at it in his whole district. Because of how good he was, clay had won a lot of VR simulation competitions making him very popular and earning him extra cash. But earlier yesterday, when Ares Corporation announced the new 'Pirate World' game and its new synchronization feature, like all professional gamers, he realized that this could be a chance for him to rise up.

Even though he lived a very comfortable life, in this world of the strong, of course he dreamt of having the strength to control his own destiny. It was because of his failure to awaken as an Enhancer earlier in his life that he chose the road of technology. With his extensive experience in playing VR games, he believed this was his chance to rise.

So he gathered his remaining money and immediately purchased a VR set from the local government after his age was confirmed as under 25, and entered the VR world immediately it went online.

He was very surprised and elated to discover that he was the first to enter this world. As a reward, he received a very good fist art and movement skill which was way better than the one provided in the Startup package.

With these two skills and his vast experience in VR games, he was able to quickly level up to Level 1 after two days of continues hunting of Level 0 creatures!

He was very surprised when he realized the changes in his strength when he woke up earlier and strengthened his conviction of using this game as an opportunity to rise up. as long as he continues to accumulate such strength, he could try the awakening potion again in the future!

When he finally entered the online forum for the 'Pirate King' Game, he realized that a lot of professional gamers which he used to beat were now bragging about their accomplishments in 'The Pirate King' VR game.

After reading a lot of these experiences and realizing that he was one of the few people who had actually leveled up to Level 1, he decided to post his successes online to gather fame. This was something he did very often in other VR games, often showing off his new skills and equipment in online forums, so he didn't find anything wrong with it.

The moment he posted his achievement, he received a lot of commendations from other players about his selflessness on teaching others the tricks involved in leveling up.

He even received invitations from some people wanting to form teams with him in the real world to share experiences, promising him of a monthly allowance of more than £1,000,000!

Being as inexperienced as he is about the dark side of this world, he immediately posted his private chat address. What made him most excited was that a girl contacted him through the private chat address that he posted, asked for his contacts adding a few erotic photos of herself wanting to be his girlfriend.

Being an otaku, his computer was his only friend, so he had not been in a relationship before. This made him very excited and continued to chat with this girl even sharing real life addresses with each other! As they continued to chat, Clay became more and more excited about his achievement and new prospects.

At this time, a loud noise came from the door.

'Bang!'

His door was smashed in. Four men walked into his house dressed in suits with dark shaded sunglasses and even holding weapons in their hands. The man walking at the forefront looked very strong with bulging muscles which were very apparent even though he was wearing a suit.

Clay was shocked when he saw this. His door was a specially customized door with steel plates covering it and an especially strong security system to prevent burglaries. How could ordinary people smash in his door so easily?

He immediately realized an issue. These men were Enhancers!

"Who are you people?" Clay asked sheepishly. He was very scared now. How could enhancers barge into the house of a nobody like him. Even though he could describe himself as well off compared to a lot of people, but when compared to people like Enhancers, he was less than an ant!

But the men ignored him. The leader walked up to him and looked at the computer screen to see what Clay was typing. After confirming it, he turned to the rest of his companions and said, "Identity Confirmed! This is the young man that the 'Young Master' wants. Take him away!"

Clay was shocked! He had no chance to struggle at all. his newly acquired strength had no effect on these men. The man hit him at the back of his neck and he lost consciousness. Another man came to him, lifted him up and left the room. The remaining three people cleaned all traces of their presence and left the apartment fixing the door. The room was now quiet with all traces of what transpired here gone.

A few minutes after the group of men left, another group of men arrived in the same apparel as the ones who left previously but they couldn't find any traces of Clay.

After they also left, four different sets of men who were also dressed in suits also arrived at Clay's house only to find out that it was now empty.

After interacting with each other, they realized that their target had already been abducted by another team.

It was estimated that this day was Clay Bennett's last!
